    Hey everyone, in this week's video I'm bringing it back to basics with the Elektron Digitakt. I wanted to rewind to the very foundations of what it means to use a step sequencer in the hopes that I can teach some folks who may be interesting in exploring the Digitakt or other similar hardware grooveboxes/samplers/etc.
    In the video, I construct a beat using all stock samples from the Digitakt, explain how to parameter lock, explore the different parameter pages, and add a bit of melody. It turns into a sort of minimal house/dub type of jam. I hope this will be useful for beginners or folks looking to learn more about the Elektron workflow, but I also included some tips for more advanced users!
    Hope you enjoy,
    -Daniel

    Thanks so much Daniel!! Bought yesterday a Digitone to add to my DT + Keystep 37. After your videos, i'm convinced is the best combo ever.

    Thanks for this great video! On the topic of controlling all parameters, in case you don't know about it, there is also a shortcut for the pattern reload that you're doing with Func+No: if you're holding TRK and adjusting parameters, you can hit No while still holding TRK to undo all the changes you made without having to do the extra step of Func+No later!

      Oh damn that’s good to know! I definitely use it for momentary changes/builds so that will be perfect to use, thanks!

      Getting started with Elektron machines is daunting and yeah, there is a steep learning curve. I started with an Analog 4 and Machinedrum MK2, but then went on to buy a Syntakt and then a Digitone. Getting my head around the Syntakt helped me a lot with the other Elektron machines. Reading the manuals is challenging but videos like this help a lot - I like to have a person there with me showing me what to do. I am a plodder and a slow learner but I feel I grasp these music machines a much better these days.

    I just got mine delivered today. I've watched a few videos before so knew how to do programming of patterns and basic things on it. I'm going back and rewatching videos while actually having the machine in front of me, and doing what I see in the videos....I learn one new thing then I pause the video and get distracted for 30 minutes to an hour by it. The Elektron is unbelievably fun and I'm not even scratching the surface yet. I can't wait to load some of my own samples into it, but I'll get there in time. Really want to learn my way around it first.

      @SlowHaste  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That’s a pretty great approach to learning it! And also, a great method regarding samples - it’s fun to push the stock sounds as far as you can (and more importantly, figure out which ones you like & want to keep using!)

    This was very helpful! I was looking for a video that would help me just getting this box and turning it on, how to start a new project and how to find the samples. Bookmarking it so I can watch it again and follow along on my digitakt

    Sounds great! It would be possible to do most of this on an Electribe 2 Sampler, but the road to get there would be a little different. I assume you have to program in volume accents, as the Digitakt does'nt have velocity sensitive pads.
