    I've had my Digitakt for about 6 months now... there's just so much to learn about the Electron workflow if this is your first box from them - so this vid breaking it down and going step by step is perfect. Lots of other tutorials out there assume you already have a working understanding of the DT. Really appreciate the beginner-friendly vibes... and the resulting beats are pretty damn inspiring too.

    In theory, 44.1khz should be enough, but I agree that you can hear a bit more sparkle or air with 48khz. Of course, this only applies to brighter sounds, makes more of a difference with cymbals, somewhat on snares but not so much with bass drums or other low frequency stuff.

    This video was like a master class at Elektron University. The Ivy League of TH-cam tutorials. It’s no doubt that you have a doctorate in Elektron Theory. Nice.

    @13:00 If You then wanted to load these tracks onto a new project would you need to load the input audio then slice it up and assign it to tracks again? How are the input samples and the sliced samples saved outside of the project?

    At first I thought the click was you pressing the digitakt buttons hard then I realised. Some people tap Elektron’s like a type writers when making a tune and it seems too hard but I guess they’re made to tap quick making that similar tap noise. Usually when people work faster on them they tap harder making that sound aha. They’re built like Sherman tanks though. Just updated mine to 132b. So exited. 👍

    This was fairly helpful - although, as a complete newbie to this box, I'm going to have to watch more of your videos to hopefully get some of the more basic stuff (ie: just turned it on for the first time - how do I start a new project - where are all of the dang samples?) Anyway, I'll read the manual again and keep watching!

    About 44.1khz vs 48khz- I've read some experts say the reason 48khz sounds better, is because the A/D converters can affect the sound a few Khz on the top end. So 48Khz gives a bit more of a buffer. And yes, the Digitakt at 48khz sounds great!

    So many videos just jump over things or completely skip the part where you are sampling. I didn't really sit down and read the manual so I didn't realize the recording threshold would start sampling. Just got my Digitakt and was connecting it to my iPad via USB to sample something off youtube last night and it would have helped get the timing right so I didn't have to clip off the start

    I want to ask you something. I dont no wich one to buy. The digidakt or the mc 707. I think the digidakt has more sound design

    • @PatchwerksSeattle
      @PatchwerksSeattle  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Both are very competent machines - hard to say. If you like the classic Roland sounds than the 707 is gonna have you covered, if you want the more experimental side and the brilliant sequencer - the Digitakt might be more your fit.

      @@PatchwerksSeattle thank you very much!! I own the Electribe ESX -1 and i love its sound design, The digidakt has this functions also but better quality. So i will buy The Digidakt its awsome for sound design and live performance. Many thanks. Your video help me decide!

  • @5stringaustin
