She's real and honest but still has standards she doesn't cross. So she's not real in the sense that she disregards manners. She always maintains those. That's the beautiful dance she does of being real within boundaries of good manners.
Laura, thank you for not editing out your mishaps from today. It's a natural part of gardening, but when we think it's just happening to us, it can be discouraging. Now the next time I make a frustrating mistake or step in an ant hill, I will think, "It happens to Laura too. I can do this!"
The next time I am making my third trip back to the garden shed wondering how Laura almost always manages to load all of the tools and supplies she needs on the first try, I will remember this video. 😉
It isn’t always apparent to me why you make a tree planting location decision but your comment today about cozy rooms brought it more into focus for me. Everything is beautiful now, but when your gardens mature they are going to be a stunning oasis. I hope I live long enough to see your vision come together. 😂❤
Poor baby she's having a Monday on a Wednesday! The energy of a child, Oh boy I wish I still had! Coneflowers feed the birds and are neat in winter if left standing. I'm so grateful that you are feeding the bees! We are losing them because of the overuse of pesticides and GMO crops. Thank you Laura
“How’s your day goin’?” Sorry Laura, but that made me laugh out loud! You handled everything so well and showed what “real” gardening looks like. Hope you have a better day tomorrow! 💚
Hi all gardeners, who watch Garden Answer, I live in South Africa and LOVE this programme. Unfortunately, we don't have the seasons in our area so cannot grow plants like Hostas etc. So enjoy your programme. It gives so much information.
I’m so excited for more echinacea! Wicked is stunning and the names are so cool. The Price is White cracked me up. And… Benjamin ZOOMING by was adorable 😂
This was quite an entertaining video. It's nice to see that we're not alone when we have days like this in the garden. 😂 Nice job pulling it off with a good attitude. ❤
“How’s your day going?” 😂❤😂 Oh my how we can all relate…but when you showed you had two right hand gloves! I couldn’t help but laugh out loud!! You persevered! Thank you for showing us the real day and life of a gardener…lol Have a blessed day everyone!
I agree with the majority! Love that you leave in the real life situations, the ants, weeds, punctures /puncture vine and kids running by! That’s real gardening and work from home life! We appreciate you and your family!
Love the weeds!! I used to think I was the only one dealing with them. 😊 You have shown me that if the plant doesn't work there- move it and plant something else. Or if it dies, you can always plant another plant. I have learned so much from watching you and Aaron. Your videos are the highlight of my day. Keep them coming! ❤
It's cool that you leave events in the video like the 2 right gloves and hitting the drip tube. It's the story of my life that one project spirals into more. Just yesterday the cap falls off the end of the weed eater and I look for it on the ground for 20 minutes. Found it though when I ran over it with the lawn mower. Like, what the heck! Ha! Happy that even the best can have days when things don't go as planned.
I’m so glad that’s it’s not just me that has such calamitous days, but all you can do is laugh and keep going 😂 You have inspired me with all this echinacea though, I really love them every time you plant them.
Thanks for your honesty admitting you cut through the drip tubes. It’s so real. And the gloves - so funny. You are so real and so willing to laugh at your mistakes. Love your humility. So entertaining. Fan from the start. Can’t watch any other gardening show. They don’t have you. 👍🏼👍🏼💗👍🏼👍🏼
This is me in the garden always. I spend more time fixing my own mistakes and walking back and forth for supplies than actually doing the task I set out to do. Nice to know I'm not alone and that this is just normal part of gardening projects. Love the channel, watch everyday.
Thank you Laura for sharing even ad things don't go perfectly to plan, you scramble to get things (and yourself) together, and basicaly you being human and perfectly imperfect for a few straight minutes (possibly hours IRL). I'm sure it was no fun to live, but it was funny and relatable to watch. We all have these frustraiting, do-nothing-right days, but it's our reaction to it - laughing and acceptance over upset/mad or self judgement - that make it better. Do thanks again for the lesson and for just being you ❤
My comment isn't about the cone flowers but I will be forever grateful to Laura for showing us gaura. The bumble bees love it and it has flowered all season so far.
This one was a me kind of day. Hitting the tubes, two right gloves, missing the extra coupler, the ants . Love how you showed those in as well. You are such a good sport
Oh my goodness... what a day for you! Lots of "setbacks" and extra work with the drip and ants but wowza! What a beautiful collection of plants you added to your garden!♡ The addition of the bench, the stepping stones, and now that Service Berry tree have created such a perfect little highlight to the already beautiful corner there. I would be obsessed with that area... "if you're looking for me, I'll be sitting on the bench admiring the view!"♡
It’s been one of those days. We had one like that about three weeks ago. (Not in the garden, but frustrating, still). The car was having issues with a couple of things so it went into the shop. About the same time, the fridge went out. And our new rescue dog proved he’s not as reliable about house breaking as we thought. That along with the heat, and believe it or not, we’ve got smoky haze in Oklahoma from the horrible fires in Oregon. But it can all be managed. Seeing your beautiful gardens and projects helps us. If only we could return the favor back to you…..💚💚💚🙏🙏🥰
Thanks for letting us see the ups AND the downs-helps us respond better when we work so hard and much seems to go wrong. You handle things with such grace (I know-the camera!) but still I just wanted to say that you really exude the fruit of the Spirit as you present to us-love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. It shines out like sun rays through a smoky cloud (and not just because of the camera!) Thank you for being a good example-it encourages me, and I really do think about it when I’m out in the garden and all seems to be going wrong. Blessings to you all!🙏🏼

To Truly Follow Christ Is To Follow His Example And Imitate His Life. 1 Peter 2:21 ~ “For to this you have been called, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, so that you might follow in his steps.” 1 John 2:3-4 ~ “And by this we know that we have come to know him, if we keep his commandments. Oh, Laura, I've certainly had days like that where if it's not one thing it's another. All little things right down to the two right handed gloves. What a day.
Morning Laura and Aaron! I am visiting my daughter in Ohio. Compared to Alaska it is quite warm here! I hope to watch this show with my grandkids here! I am planning on helping my daughter clean up some beds. She is due any day! I can completely relate to the cutting drip tube and two right hand gloves incidents! I bet most of us can. I was trying to get a baby quilt top completed before heading down here and sewed the border on incorrectly. I therefore spent a lot of the evening ripping those stitches out and decided it is too late in the evening to be doing this! I love y'all's podcast! I appreciate your tenacity and fully approve the message you both present! 😂😂😂. I gardens look lovely!!!!!!!
Love your channel and content!!❤️ I thought your husband was going to say, "Honey, l got it, l will fix that for you"😂 You're Awesome!! I Love a woman who can take charge and repair things on her own 🥰😂 God's Blessings, Happy Gardening🎉😂❤
i know it's my 3rd comment but, I want you to know that your allowing us to see the real life of a gardener is truly heart felt Love. I have so many fails in my garden I was feeling like quitting. I don't feel happy that your day was rough but, I now feel like It might be just a little bit ok to have a rough day. I'm not perfect. Thank you for sharing!!! God Bless! By the way the Kneeling pads are AWSOME!!
Weeds and drip lines. Keeping it real. Thanks for sharing how you deal with the unexpected issues. Gardening is all about envisioning a future and learning from the past. You guys capture that in every video you post.
Updated video title: Realities of the garden, Drip line edition 😂 Laura, your authenticity as you navigated the challenges today was a good reminder that we all have moments of frustration in the garden. Thanks for bringing us the realities from your garden.
I'm chuckling about your mishaps today!! When it rains it pours!! Your attitude is always positive, despite things that would totally make me crabby! Such a hard worker! Your videos bring me much joy!! I hope your rest of the day goes smoother!! LOL!
Well Laura, as the saying goes - Into every life rain must fall - and you were having a typhoon on the day you filmed this video! Oh my goodness. But in the end, such beautiful plantings and the tree placement was all absolutely perfect. Great job! Clearly the weather was cooler, and we could all tell by your even more relaxed demeanor. So glad for you, family & all your gorgeous gardens!
Oh Laura, the tree by your bench is absolutely beautiful 😍 and I love all the cone flowers they are a favorite of mine as is the Hydrangeas ❤😊 thank you for sharing today's video ❤God's blessings ❤
Your day was like the past week has been for me. I have all left handed gloves, broke 2 clay pots, my worthless garden hose explodes and the 2 new ones I bought are not much better. I need your hoselinks. On my wish list they are. Beautiful flowers as usual and the colors and plants are looking so good.
This is where a drip system repair robot cart would come in handy.. Have a remote control with you so you could call the cart to you wherever you are. What a trooper you always are.
And that's how it goes on the farm too. Fire ants in the pickup, had to pull the bead liner out where they had started a nest. Something has eaten holes in the fertilizer bags. Drought over, now it's too wet to even bush hog the pasture. Soldier on our Garden Answer Heros! 🤗🤗🤗
Rough day on the Garden Answer Homestead!! 😂 But what a great example of what it takes to have your garden just the way you want it! It’s not work if you love it!😍👩🏼🌾
I admire how calm you stay even with all the hiccups. Your gardens get more beautiful with every addition. I love the Echinacea! Benjamin is so sweet trying to catch Dad and Samantha. 💕🤗💕
Laura!! Oh my gosh!! You are having a day like most of my gardening days !! Ants: check Drilling things we ought not: check Not having both gloves: check Supplies missing: check All normal at my house too. You just are having them all at the same time!!
Oh, bless your heart, Laura! You had a rough go at it! Please tell us you had a nice drink 🍸 at the end of the day? If you were my garden buddy, we'd be drinking a mimosa and carrying on! When Aaron said we could just cut it and then put it back together, I wanted to throw my pruners at him for you and say, "You fix it!" Thanks for the laughs, I'm happy to know I'm not the only one who has these days!
I loved this video! Thanks for sharing the imperfect moments. Keeping our sense of humor about them is important. Question: Could Aaron and maybe also Paul do a video on how they choose supply line vs. drip line, and how they decide which to choose based on how much water you need to go to each region?
Oh Laura how I love your outlook on life so positive with a beautiful smile even when your day might not be going great. I had a horrible day today but you lifted my spirits. 😊 You are amazing my dear. Thank you so much for all you do.
As a handyman in Florida I hit irrigation lines all the time. I made this great bucket up with all the necessary pieces just like you are talking about. And then I leave the bucket home and never take it with me. 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️ For those ant hills I always carry a spray bottle with water and Dawn soap in it. It does great and doesn't poison the garden nearly as much as some other stuff.
Finally! Someone else who has days like I do sometimes! I love your calm way in dealing with it. That is the best way because after all that is what gardening is all about!
We all have those kind of days Laura! You are keeping it real for sure! Your garden is just beautiful. I remember when you first started this area and how far it has come. I am 65 and I don't have the energy you have and would love a garden like yours, I love all the color.
Absolutely loved 😂 all the “commotion” in the garden video today whether it is cute kiddos, pets, mishaps and frustrations, we have those days in life, house, garden, work, that we’re not sure whether to laugh or cry but it is real life & can teach us patience. Thanks for keeping it REAL Garden Answer! Much ❤🙏🏻 sent your way!
You certainly had a lot of challenges today, Laura…..ants the worst! I hope you didn’t get too many bites. It all looks lovely in the end. The tree is perfect next to the bench. Interesting how things play out from one little change. Find a spot for an extra bench, lay a few stones, need a tree, have the perfect tree….last tree that needs to planted (for now). Magical transformation that was never planned. Love it! I love the way you do it….no tedious designing, no massive planning, just….what do I need here? End result….beautiful magical garden space. You got it! You make such fun out of everything. Love it when you and Aaron work together also. You’re both just so real….just who you are. That’s why we all love you so much. 👍💕🦋🕊
You are so brave. The ants would have chased me off. Great video on replacing the drip line. But after all that what beautiful placement of all the beautiful flowers. Thank you for sharing it all ❤❤❤❤
Good morning! Love all the Echinacea that you planted. Such pretty color in the landscape. It amazes me how you calmly deal with splitting drip lines, fire ants and the heat. Calm, cool & collected.
Oh my, what a day you had. Ants creep me out! Everything turned out beautiful. I think I'm going to look for some echinacea to plant in my front garden bed. The "wicked" is so pretty. I never thought much of this plant until I watched your videos. 🌻🐝
Good morning Laura. This year, I started Echinacea to use medicinal. While its growing, it provided so much to the pollinators. Beautiful to look at too. Once done, I'll get lots of seeds to have and share. Mother nature is a blessing.
Bummer about the drip line, but I appreciate watching you do this stuff. I currently hand-water everything in my little yard, but at some point I want to add drip too. Anyhow, you inspire me and I appreciate your show. 🌸
Thanks for showing us your trials and tribulations with your drip system. So helpful to see how you struggle and persevere through the messy web of dripline. I don't feel so alone in my irrigation woes, and you inspire me to take a breath and just handle it! 👏
Today’s planting reminds me of my day. I’m frustrated with bugs and dried out flowers. Most of my plants have been yanked out. We don’t have a second flush of flowers in our garden centres so it is what it is. I’m going to enjoy what I have left and start planning for next year hoping for better success.
I can't remember which recent video you where you mentioned bindweed, and needing to use landscape fabric. I have a technique for killing it that doesn't harm surrounding plants. When we moved into our house 23 years ago, the yard was overrun with the worst weeds one can have--horsetail, himalayan blackberry, and wild morning glory (a.k.a. bindweed). Now, normally I am a no spray, no herbicide, no pesticide gardener, but I've learned that there are a few situations where an exception needs to be made. I finally brought the Morning Glory under control when I started doing this--I gather up a clump of the Morning Glory and stuff the tops into a gallon-size zip lock bag, and then I spray the inside of the bag with Round-Up. The herbicide will absorb into the tissue, circulate down to the roots, and kill the entire plant. The plastic bag needs to be disposed of per municipal rules for herbicides.
Wow Laura, you earned your gold stars today, persevering with the irrigation mishaps, then the ants. It all paid off in the end with some beautiful editions 🐜🐜🐜🐜🐜 💖💖💖💖💖⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Just all the beautiful things you were planting today. The more you plant the more its getting more and more beautiful and just so inspiring for us and just love when you had planted your new beautiful tree near your bench and the excitement you had in your voice. Is just like all of us gardener's get when we look at our garden and just take in all in what we have done. Just breathtaking
I love that you’re planting more cone flowers/ echinacea ! They’re so beautiful and I love painting them in watercolor. Brings spring to cold winter days. 😊
I need a service berry in my landscape. Would love to find one as large as yours. I planted two flowering crabapple trees after seeing yours . I had never hesrd of them before nor a service berry. This year was the first year local nurseries had the crabapple. Think these people watch garden answer cause I'm seeing a lot more plants you use in your garden show up here in Georgia zone 8. Only thing that won't grow here are some of the spruce and red twig dogwoods. Probably our heat with the humidity. Your gardens inspire me everyday. You Laura inspire me everyday! Now i got to go tend to roses, they're finally getting a second flush from all the rain we have had the past two weeks. Loving it!
I'm in GA too and I've noticed that some of the nurseries, NOT Home Depot or Lowe's, carry Espoma products. When I lived in AL my local Walmart in Tuscaloosa used to carry Espoma products too. I guess if the person ordering products is a gardener they watch Garden Answer too and follow Laura and Aaron. Like a "secret, special" club to belong to. LOL! 😂
Morning all! Laura just the fact that you show us the accidents, mistakes and the pain we all go through to make our gardens beautiful makes you real and honest👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🍸🍸🍸🍸and makes your channel the very best on TH-cam 🍸🍸🍸🍸👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻🥰🥰🥰🥰💯💯💯🎈🎈🎈🎈💐💐💐🪷🪷🪷🪷🥀🥀🌹🌹🌷🌷🌷🌺🌺🌺

Yes, I agree! I almost 😅 died three weeks ago from carbon dioxide, so you never know!
@@pathoward5721oh my…glad you’re okay!
Had to laugh, turned 65 today and thought, me too! For both of us!
A bad day gardening is better than a good day doing anything else
That serviceberry is exactly what the bench wanted next to it.
Yes! That is going to look fantastic once it starts grow out more. Perfect spot for the tree and bench.

I love how real this video is! This is how it usually goes for me anytime I plan a project 😅💚
This is where a drip system repair robot cart would come in handy.. Have a remote control with you so you could call the cart to you wherever you are.
What a trooper you always are.
Sometime ago your mother brought you a “milkshake” echinacea and I loved the name so much that I finally came across one. It’s one of my favorites! :)
And that's how it goes on the farm too. Fire ants in the pickup, had to pull the bead liner out where they had started a nest. Something has eaten holes in the fertilizer bags. Drought over, now it's too wet to even bush hog the pasture. Soldier on our Garden Answer Heros! 🤗🤗🤗
Love the wicked echinacea and the asters. Perfect place for the serviceberry tree. The placement of the bench is great.
We all have those days. All you can do is laugh and carry on. Thank you for sharing all the beauty in your garden.
Bless your heart and your patience Laura! By this point if I was on camera you would have had to bleep me out!!! 😂
Woo girl! You are riding the struggle bus today 😂. I feel for you. Hope things get better
Laura!! Oh my gosh!! You are having a day like most of my gardening days !! Ants: check
Drilling things we ought not: check
Not having both gloves: check
Supplies missing: check
All normal at my house too. You just are having them all at the same time!!
Oh my gosh Laura you really had a day! I love that you don’t edit any of that out because we all can relate! 🤣
Oh, bless your heart, Laura! You had a rough go at it!
Please tell us you had a nice drink 🍸 at the end of the day? If you were my garden buddy, we'd be drinking a mimosa and carrying on! When Aaron said we could just cut it and then put it back together, I wanted to throw my pruners at him for you and say, "You fix it!"
Thanks for the laughs, I'm happy to know I'm not the only one who has these days!
For those ant hills I always carry a spray bottle with water and Dawn soap in it. It does great and doesn't poison the garden nearly as much as some other stuff.
You had quite a day, but you didn’t seem phased by it. Everything sure looks beautiful in the garden.
Finally! Someone else who has days like I do sometimes! I love your calm way in dealing with it. That is the best way because after all that is what gardening is all about!
That splt screen timing was perfect! 😂
😂 I love it when you wreck your drip (3 times) because you show how easy it is to fix! 😅💧
I’m so jealous of all the beautiful varieties of Echinacea you planted. In my area, the rabbits would eat it down to the ground.
You are so brave. The ants would have chased me off.
Great video on replacing the drip line. But after all that what beautiful placement of all the beautiful flowers. Thank you for sharing it all ❤❤❤❤
😂 Ben running is the sweetest thing ever! I love y’all’s videos! Thank you for sharing your world. 😊
Good morning! Love all the Echinacea that you planted. Such pretty color in the landscape. It amazes me how you calmly deal with splitting drip lines, fire ants and the heat. Calm, cool & collected.
🤣🤣 You just cut them all and then put them back together.. your faces were just priceless! But I admire your determination and humor, Laura!👍🏼
I love that you can’t see the bench from the driveway but you can along the grass path. Things are looking so beautiful.
Now this is more like how my garden projects typically go!
I’m sooo glad that I’m not the only gardener who grabs 2 of the same side gloves etc!
Love serviceberries so much - glad you could add another ❤. I feel like you can never have enough lol
All the little fishies are going to be eating out of your hand before you know it, Samantha and Benjamin look so cute out playing with father❤🐸
Today’s planting reminds me of my day. I’m frustrated with bugs and dried out flowers. Most of my plants have been yanked out. We don’t have a second flush of flowers in our garden centres so it is what it is. I’m going to enjoy what I have left and start planning for next year hoping for better success.
That seating area just keeps getting better!
The pink petunias behind where you planted the tree and so pretty 💕💕💕
Love all the new flowers, they look beautiful ❤. That tree fit in that space perfectly.
Laura bless your heart today I felt so bad for you, but you made quick work of it.😊 It is coming together so beautifully. Go cool down.
Wow Laura.. that was a work out!! I love how you just push through and have that beautiful smile of yours at the end!! Gotta love drip 😂🤞
Loving all the new editions, so full and bursting with flowers. The echinicea, did not know it has that many varieties.
Beautiful, Laura! And you are a great role model of how to stay positive amid frustrating events (.e.g. cutting drip!)
Love all your additional plants...can't wait to see your garden at mature stage.❤❤❤
LOL! 😂
