I have a friend that owns this unit and it's pretty impressive for the cost. I bought a LF bros N2 which I like also. I love that we have low cost options now. Great vid.
Great honest reviews I've watched them all !
Thanks, much appreciated.
I can’t believe you don’t have over 100k subscribers already! Excellent, down to earth channel!!!!
Thanks! We are growing so hopefully we will be there some day.
@ You’ll get there!! Hopefully SOON!
looks like a nice lower budget option and it has a mobile app which is great. I myself like the ticking sound as I can't sleep without a consistent sound of some kind :)
@@DeanJohnson67 you still have the blower noise which is a nice white noise
Sadly ive been unable to get the app to work on any of my phones. The heater itself is great, just keep an eye on the cheap fuel line! Within a month mine started leaking by the fuel filter. I ended up doing a full fuel line upgrade.
Its been running perfectly since.
I like the unit but I don't like the idea that you have to open it up to see the fuel level. Some day maybe they will incorporate a fuel gauge into the app. That could be one of your "pro mentions" to them.
I have a Bernie doodle. Also how do you get the dog up into the tent and down? Also, I noticed your dog is smaller than mine which is about 80 pounds pounds minus.
Ours is 45lbs, so I just pick him up and go up the ladder and vice versa.
Seems like a nice unit. Ticking frequency is surprisingly high compared to our (actual) 2kW Webasto. But why put the intake hose in front of the control panel? Why put the exhaust on the same side as the warm air outlet. Would be more convenient to have the exhaust blowing in the opposite direction as the warm air, e.g. when placing it near a cabin wall.
Some odd design choices for sure
to me the design works well for rtt. keep exhaust away from intake
the heater seems cool i jsut dont like that the exhaust and heat come out the same siede. if you were to use this in a garage seems like a hassle.
Which ducting did you get?! Finding 3.5" isn't easy
@@LawnMM I used 4” insulated hose and a hose clamp
@TrailTraveler cheating! Okay I'll have a go, thanks for the reply
Purchased a 3.5 -3" silicone coupler from Amz. Thinking that might work as a decent heat resistant option.
The clicks drive me bonkers, and I can’t seem to get used to them. Luckily since they are usually down on the ground I don’t hear it as much. Looks like a decent unit!
Me too, I have units here that I would never take on a camping trip. This one didn’t bother me at all.
"Ticking" wouldn't bother me at all, to me it'd just be white noise. Besides, I've slept though WAY louder sounds at night. ;-)

This one is much much quieter than my vevor.
@ Vevors are notoriously loud
Where do you safely store diesel fuel when its freezing outside? Won’t it gel over? Nobody ever mentions this in these reviews?
Here in Colorado, they switch to a "winter blend" that has additives to prevent gelling. You could mix in some kerosene to help that as well.
@ interesting i didnt know you can mix kerosene with diesel. I might pick this unit up from hcalory.
@@Armenian The heaters can actually run on 100% kerosene, but here in the US, kerosene is more expensive. In the UK, kerosene is much cheaper than diesel.
@@TrailTraveler really? This is very interesting. Here’s a quick plug that I got from ai about the two fuels:
Recommendation
• Use kerosene for cleaner burning, less maintenance, and cold climates if cost and availability are not issues.
• Use diesel for affordability and convenience, especially if you can handle the increased maintenance and occasional odor.
For flexibility, many users opt for diesel as their primary fuel and switch to kerosene in colder weather or for periodic cleaning burns to reduce soot buildup.
How did your battery do?
With that power station I used 13% over 10 hours
Of interest there seems to be zero support for parts from Hcalory. Almost all show “sold out,” not much help if you needed a glow plug .
Glow plugs are readily available just about anywhere online and no the company does not sell parts that's a well-known fact
How loud is it compared to the sunster TB 10?
The fuel pump is noticable on this one when you are right next to it but i couldnt hear it in the tent. The sunster was quiet when you were right next to it.
I just tried the link and Amazon wants $219.
If you're paying $200 for that style heater you're getting ripped off there are several newer models on the market for alot less
@@troy7124 you get what you pay for. I have some “cheap units” and I would never take them camping due to the noise.
There is no other unit that has these mechanical and design features at this price level. Your paying extra for a turnkey unit over a basic Vevor or alt. with this form factor and details.
If you still disagree, then please discuss and provide some links. Have searched quite widely.
der Verbrauch solcher Heizungen liegt bei 0,02 Liter pro Stunde
That has not been my experience. I went through 5 liters in 12 hours, that .4L per hour on Level 2-3
Da bist Du um eine Kommastelle verrutscht! 0,1 - 0,4 l/h - dazu kann man auch noch anmerken, dass die "8kW" "China-Watt" sind. Diesel hat ca. 9,6 kWh pro Liter Energie. Für 8kW müsste eine Heizung also mindestens 0,8 l/h verbrauchen, bei unrealistischen 100% Wirkungsgrad, also wohl eher 1-1,5l/h. 0,4 Liter ergeben maximal! 3,8 kW
It was great shilling advertisement, but it didn't mention the AC plug they are still using for DC. Super dangerous!
@@daltonsband the only heater with a good DC plug on it is the LF Bros. Not sure why you think it’s super dangerous though, it’s not high voltage.
@@TrailTraveler I think he means the shape of the plug. There are plugs that look similar but one is for 110/230V mains and the other for 12V. Some Chinese heaters are using the high voltage plug but it takes 12V, so just a matter of time until someone plugs it into mains.
