Thanks for reviewing this heater! I purchased the N2 this fall to extend my season out a couple months in the interior of BC Canada. Selected the N2 over the upgraded model as the price was right and I’d doubtfully ever get to the elevation to require the upgrade. The unit has roughly 50 hours on it now and works as it did on day 1. Quiet, doesn’t leak and works as you’d want. On a side note I was missing a piece from mine and noticed well outside of the Amazon return window. C/S was easy to contact and looked after getting a replacement shipped out pretty quick. Thanks for your efforts as a creator, appreciated!
You live in Colorado and don't think elevation matters? I agree we don't camp in the Winter at 12,000', but we do camp in the Winter at 9,000', or at least we would if our heaters worked that high. I think a heater to be used in Colorado needs to be evaluated at 10,000'. Thanks for all the great videos!
No, because most trails in Colorado get closed down during the winter. Much of it isn't accessible, even some of the paved passes are closed around me this time of the year. That's why I mentioned that people who want to camp higher up should opt for the higher end unit. But for the majority of the country that don't live a mile about sea level, the N2 will do the trick, especially while used with kerosene. Thanks for watching Mark!
I picked up the N2 at the beginning of 2024 for backup house heat in case of a power outage. I did some testing with it when I initially got it and was very impressed, I even took the case off and took a look inside. There weren't many reviews on it at the time so I was taking a bit of a chance but I think it was well worth it! It was very quiet and was put together in a really nice package, it seemed to mitigate many of the complaints I read of other cheap heaters. I haven't had to rely on it to keep warm but it gives me peace of mind knowing its an option. We're supposed to get a cold snap next week so I should probably pull it out and make sure it is still in working order.
Nice reviews! I think I'm still convinced to go with the Propex heater though. Different thing entirely, I know, but I just don't want to deal with another fuel.
Yeah lots of people love the Propex setups. I will be using the propane fireplace a lot of the time, but for Fj camping and deep winter stuff, this will just be an auxiliary unit to keep it toasty.
I have thousands of hours on my $79 diesel heater. Works amazing, does not leak. This video is for rich people who spend more time making videos about what they are doing than actually doing it.
Appreciate your heads up review on the LF Bros camp heater, will be looking for your long term review, as always keep doing what your doing brah, Hau'oli Makahiki Hou to you and your family my brahda, stay safe and safe travels brahda see you on the next one, Amen and God bless 🙏
Thank you for making this review! I've been wanting to get a diesel heater for months and just cannot spend 1500 dollars on some of the custom built ones. Even the cheaper ones seem like a waste if they are going to die after a few uses. I was leaning towards the Pro but the time that I will use the heater, I'd never be above 6k feet. Too much snow above that where I like to camp. It's the 3500-5k foot range where it gets down into the 20's or 10's.
I like the form factor of this cheap chinese diesel heater. Great review and insights specific to this unit. I watched Project Farm's test too, but I don't think it went into the Pro version, and that's what I'm more interested in. I know the Pro is a lot more, but if they're using more aluminum it's probably a buy once, cry once kinda thing.
It’s quite noticeable side by side that the internal heater is a bulkier unit. And though the heat output is the same at 5kw, it’s interesting that the duct size is larger. Perhaps it’s to cool down the extra aluminum? Hard saying. But either way, you can’t go wrong for the price. Thanks for watching.
@@IndependenceOverland Check out @loweredexpectations4927 if you want to learn more. He has a ton of info on these heaters, and one of his videos I'm pretty sure shows the difference in the units with more aluminum.
I get the E8 error code. The fan rubs rubs against the circuit board box. Any suggestion on how to fix? Also - do you have to prime the pump before starting?
The first time may need a priming, but after that it should be good unless you have ran it dry. If you have a running fan though, I’d be getting it replaced from the manufacturer
I've got one of those too. As well as a groundless tipi tent for when I really want to rough it. There are plenty of ways to camp, and I have done them all. There are more ways to enjoy the outdoors than just the way that you personally think is best.

Solid review. It’s amazing how much nicer overland gears have gotten in just the past few years!
Thank you sir! Yeah this industry has absolutely blown up. It sometimes makes me concerned it might fall flat on its face like the tuner scene did 😬.

I have the N2, and its great. Found it on sale for $179.00. Sold my Hcalory in the black plastic case, the LF Bros are much nicer.

If you think $600 for a top notch heat source is only for the rich you’re defiantly poor.

Great review!
They offer the N2-T model which was just on sale for 287, and has auto altitude adjustment.
Another reviewer said the N2 Pro doesnt have app support. Is this true?
I just picked up the N2 for $212 via Amazon yesterday.

It will be perfect for you. Just make sure to run it on full blast every so often!
Get the N2-T. Only costs like $50 more and you get auto altitude adjustment

They are all made with the same parts from the same factories lol
A good quality sleeping bag rated for your environment will never let you down. Get back to basics and dump that "overlanding" gear
