I just modified the recipe a little and used 4 tbls. of flour instead of cornstarch to make the gravy thicker, added 2 bay leaves instead of one, used Creole seasoning instead of the complete seasoning, and Kitchen Bouquet, to give color and taste. Also I used my pressure cooker (20 min. cook time) instead of a Dutch Oven. This chicken is absolute 🔥🔥🔥.

This recipe is AMAZING!!!!! Have made it twice so far (minus the celery but everything else like the video) and my family of 6 all love it so much. Everyone always wants seconds. First time I used corn starch and heavy cream, second time rice flour instead of cornstarch (2tbsp) and no heavy cream. You really need to cook it down, I cooked it covered for 20 and uncovered for 30 and it was perfect. When I cook it uncovered during the second half I turn the heat up a little so that it can reduce faster. It will thicken a bit more as it cools. I used Cajun seasoning like she said instead of seasoning salt because I didn’t have any. This will be in our rotation from now on. Thank you!

This recipe for me came out kinda soupy, but it still turned out amazing, and the rice soaked up a lot of the liquid that was in the bowl. I definitely would make it again!

New subscriber here. Lately, I have been ordering meals on Uber Eats or getting to-go meals from restaurants. But after a while a sista gets tired of that. lol Just cooked this dish today, after church, and it was delicious. I don't have a Dutch oven (oops) but I used my large cast iron skillet! My daughter loved it and said it was restaurant-quality good. Thank you for this recipe. This will be a staple in our household!
Made this twice ❤ today and yesterday 😅 THANK YOU!!! SO SIMPLE, GREAT DIRECTIONS ❤ I'M NEW IN THIS COOKING THING 😊
I'm glad you enjoyed the recipe twice! Thank you for trying it out and trusting me with your new cooking journey! I appreciate you!
Sis….the way my Husband ate this chicken 😂 🙌🏾👌🏾 thanks for an easy but DELICIOUS meal ❤
You are so welcome and I’m glad that y’all enjoyed it hunny!
6:32 I love the presentation ❤ I laughed when you put the bay leaf 🍃 in and said razzle dazzle 😂
this is very similar to a cajun smothered chicken, one of my favorite dishes my grandma used to make. She would use mushrooms and carrots in addition to what veggies you used, and a ton of fresh parsley and green onion toward the end. I make it all the time
I made this twice and my family absolutely loves it! Keep the recipes coming.
I have it on the stove right now and it smells amazing 😊. I happen to feed a few young people at work . Rice gravy and chicken affordable and filling . I have 3 Dutch ovens. 2 8qt and one 2qt. Beef stew comes out so much better in a Dutch oven 🎉 I have subscribed to this channel. I am drooling smell this chicken. I also watch another channel and made the peanut butter bread. It does not disappoint
Again thank you. Funny thing I have all the spices you have been using.
Made this for my husband and kids and they LOVED it! I didnt have celery and complete seasoning and added a bit more cornstarch. It came out so good.

My Black American family is from So Carolina and Florida..we always put a cut up chicken with skin in a pot of seasoned water for about a hour and 15 min then add the Carolina rice...the juice was called Pot Liquor

This will definitely be our new Easter Dinner Tradition!! I can’t wait to try more of your recipes! Thank you!!
This recipe for me came out kinda soupy, but it still turned out amazing, and the rice soaked up a lot of the liquid that was in the bowl. I definitely would make it again!
I doubled the amount of cornstarch and mixed it with cold water separately then added it to the pot. That usually works best for me in my experience so that it won’t be soupy.
I made this for my family of 10. We love it I added carrots in the stew as well and cornbread ❤
I had to come back and tell you this came out sooooo good ! Thank you 🙏🏾
