If you cut the thread long, like you did for the tree, put both cut ends through the needle. When you start your stitching put the needle through the loop on the back. By doing this you don’t need to use tape at your starting point. I used this method through many years of counted cross stitch and it works beautifully. I had to stop the video so I could run over and get these dies because they are gorgeous. Thank you again for showing us something we may not have ever seen otherwise.
These are a blast for cards to send to the other member of your stitching club. Remember to glue a piece of CS to the back of stitched work. The ladies will All look close to see how well you did that stitchin on the back . I am glad to see diies with designs laid out & cut out for me to stitch. I have been imaginating on how to punch a design. I too do counted cross stitch & have seen a couple cross/over versions that were not so impressive as these.

So happy to see this video! I got these dies in the mail yesterday and I wanted to cry. I don't do any hand stitching and I was so sad that I wasn't going to be able to use them. After watching you do it I think I can do it myself. Whether I WILL is up in the air, but I feel more confident about my ability.

I have found an old toothbrush very effective for those loose(or not!) die pieces for those of us who do not have special tool, btw, thank you for the way you give inclusive designs, not requiring a special die in most cases appreciated :)

Lovely cards thank you, i always cut out the need for sellotape at the back of my cards to secure the floss by cutting an extra long piece of floss then double it over and thread the 2 loose ends through the needle, you then have a loop at the other end which you can pull your needle through on the back of your work. its so simple and neat and no need for sellotape, always works on material as well. Hope i have explained it ok.
OMG! I have a book from 15 years ago that is filled with embroidery patterns to be worked on paper. It is written in Dutch but I figured it out anyway. (embroidery is my first childhood love) Many years ago I made 40 Christmas cards that were stitched and beaded. They were my favorite cards. Thank you for posting this "updated" version.
I would LOVE to see you do more of these types of cards. This is perfect for me. It combines two of my favorite hobbies, cross-stitch and card making. Please keep making these cards!

I think it would be fun to stitch the pierced background as well. Then you could use your background as a focal point. The snowflake background would be amazing in metalic threads.

Another tip when stitching with an even # of threads..... feed both ends thru the needle. When you make your first stitch from the back and go back down thru to the back, you can put your needle thru the loop on the back to anchor the stitch .... instead of taping.

These are beautiful! I love working with thread, too, but could also see someone creating a similar look by drawing the lines with a Sharpie or other fine point marker. Thanks for sharing!
How wonderful. Have done stitching on cards but the dies make it so much easier over the pattern and piercing way. Love your videos. Also want to thank you so much for the tip on using a dry eraser to rub over my stamp platform when stamping. So much easier❣️

beautiful, jennifer! (when i stitch, i always push my needle down in the center hole. there is less chance of splitting the threads as when you pull up, and i think the floss lies more neatly.) your explanations are always so clear. thank you for sharing your talents.
The dmc variegated flosses would be great for these. Thank-you for reminding me to get my foiling machine out of the cupboard !

Wonderful cards. I have wanted to do stitched cards for all my Christmas but I would have to start in June! Lol! However, these are great for those very special people on my list. Haven’t invested in the glimmer system so I would have to find another way to add the sparkle, but I’m sure that won’t be a big problem 😉. Thanks for another great video.

Jennifer, another metallic thread that is wonderful for stitching is DMC Diamant (equal to 2 strands of DMC floss) & DMV Grand Diamant (equal to 4 strands). Both are single ply, tangle-free threads that will keep its' twist. Most metallic threads are a bear to use, but this one is a delight!
