Great husband! Leads his home with intelligence, wisdom, and patience. Plus you can tell he is her biggest fan. Inspiration to me as a 25 year old with a 22 year old wife. Won't get to this point by 29 and 26, but we can make great progress.

The two best things you can do for yourself are to stay out of debt, and to start saving for retirement as soon as you can when you start working (if you're already working, go make an IRA contribution tomorrow!). :)
@@kzimmerman2211 is right. Time is the great lever in investing. Little pebbles today turn into giant boulders at retirement.

I wonder if schools should teach fp in high school. That wouldn't compeltely wipe out debt but it would make smarter students and young adults.

Can't understand why the people dislike this video? This young couple should be role model for all couples.
To all the people trying to poke holes in their success story, it doesn't matter how many kids they do or don't have or what part of the country they live in and can buy a house for...those are all just excuses. The amount of money they paid off, in the time they did, with their level of income is impressive no matter what. Everyone's situation is different. What they did still took a lot of effort and determination and honestly their age in general is one of the most impressive pieces. Just be happy for them that they've made the right choices this early in life and use it as motivation for your own situation whether you have more or less factors working against you.
No. It's smart to ask questions. Do you have any idea how many bullshitters there are out there? Either to troll you or sell you something? It's smart to ask questions. "The more exceptional the claim, the more exceptional the proof required."

I paid my house off at 25. Worth about $150k. Not as impressive but still paid off.

Why do you have too put them down? Every one has their own income and debt and finds out Dave at a different age

I am debt free too! I am pretty excited about it. I have been debt free once before, but it didnt last long. I am buying my first house this year! I dont ever want to be in debt again other than my house payment!
hooray!!!! they remind me of my sister's family they make less than 100k have zero debt house paid off in 7 years had a child, paid cash for a 45k shop behind their house. (my sister calls it a shed lol). they also have an raging addiction to crimson tide football been to every game and championship game in the last 10 years. very proud of her :-)

it can be done. depends what you want out of life. we're 100% debt free. we chose it. no vacations , no new vehicle,
no buying stuff just because we like it.
we're bank rolling our retirement and savings account. when I do shop now...i ask myself "Do I really need this?" now I'm hooked on saving. best feeling in the world. congrats to this young couple.

Explore, when you get into that mindset, you find that your definition of 'nice things' shifts and often can't be found in the store. I went to a craft show this weekend (supporting a friend vending there) and found lots of trinkets and do-dads I adored, and could easily afford. I bypassed it all, because I'd rather keep that $ in my pocket over another pair of pretty earrings, another jar of lady potions. It's not that i never buy myself anything, it's that i find my joy in new ways over purchasing new things. My Xmas gifts are a few cheap-ie rings on sale from Kohls (less than $10 for both), an electric griddle, and a big fancy pack of colored Sharpies (for my various budgeting notebooks). So plain and boring and 'little' compared to many others, and we can well afford more, I just have no need or desire for it.
No Vacations? When will you ever reap the fruits of your hard work? If you spend your whole life saving. Life is very short. It is great to be debt free and save, but we also have to take care of ourselves.
The Mom Trotter life is very short if you can retire at an early age around 40? Yeah... i guess you can forget that and keep buying Coachella tickets and nice cars
In sydney 220k will get you just that double garage in the pic - no house, no land; just the garage.

My place is an apartment on the OUTSKIRTS OF SYDNEY...still owing 370000 on it and working as a teacher for 90000 getting taxed 30000, only have 60000 to live off. Maybe I should move to the states, everything sounds so much cheaper there

This video is one of my absolute favorites. I have viewed it many times over just to be inspired. I'm 31 and still renting and am so ready to get a house. We're on baby step #2 and it seems like a long road. I am so happy for this couple. They are so smart and determined. I really admire them, I need to be more like them. :)

I just turned 30 paid of my $190,000 house. Used $150,000 in equity to put $50,000 (20%) down on 3 different $250,000 multi family rental properties. So now I’m leveraging money to make more money. So I have 3 rentals and will use these profits to buy more rentals

I turned 20 last September and financed my first home. Besides the debt on the house i have my car which I owe 9k.. working on getting rid of that right now! Never financing something again now that I started listening to Mr. Ramsey!!! Ill have my debt free scream someday soon!!!
