Do something with the rusty part of the header tubes. Maybe some high heat silver paint so they look more like they are part of the cone. At the small end of the cone see if you can get a little more of that steel you made the cone from and make a tapered piece that goes around the first header tube. I'm not crazy about the way it just goes from so narrow to much wider. The taper should be more gradual. Also, don't put a turn down on the end of the cone. Leave it just the way it is. It would have been really nice if they were all individual narrower cone shaped pipes and all turned upward and angled back. Shorter in the front of the block and getting longer towards the rear. Not sure if you plan to but degrease the engine and trans. And maybe add some chrome valve covers. You probably have those things in mind but you aren't ready for the cleaning and chrome yet. But I thought I'd just plant the seed. ;)
Hope you keep those baby blue rims all around! They pop! Love the build! Can’t bore me with the time lapse welding! That’s an art I wish I had an eye for! Can’t wait to see more!
Greetings Dan from Long Island New York, thanks for the videos and live streams, they keep me going thru all this lockdown, something to look forward too and I’m really digging the Model T, thanks again stay healthy and safe!!! Keep the videos coming brother!!!
To fix the small end of the megaphones I would put on a couple of radiator clamps to close up the end then final weld the long seam. Most small block headers are 1 5/8 dia.
Minion. with 355 views so far you have given 130 hours (355 views times 22 min video) of viewing pleasure to your audience and took their minds off the pandemic. Thanks.
Hey Dan , thanks for the new episode saw it at morning break and again at lunch . Now I'm finally home and back again for a third visit . Work is super busy and I'm more than a bit exhausted.Hot Rod looks Tee - rific.Nice cheater slicks and the headers will provide much needed noise therapy. Looks like you had a great day , happy for ya!
Dan, the ole T is really looking cool! You put so much work into your rods! As for the old air compressor, the tank would make a great BBQ grill, that way you could have functional yard art and cook up some great grub!
Dan, that compressor tank would make a hell of a pot belly stove/oven considering how cold it gets where you are. We're just coming out of summer here in Australia. Stay well, cheers
@@DDSpeedShop Dan, half'm half it fire bellow then half way up, box out an oven, use the metal you cut out for doors on it and run a stove pipe out top . Have seen it done! 😁
Coming along nicely, will look killer once you get it finished I’m sure , a lot of guys over here used the old stamped steel wheel barrow tubs and cut them down for a firewall recess in the smaller rods like the T , these days everyone just goes out and buys the firewalls ready to trim and install but making some use out of a cheaper alternative is always good for the budget , just an idea 💡 , cheers from down under 😎👍👍🇦🇺
When I was young there were T's and Bucket T's in all the farmers fields. They would just let you haul them off. Wish I had one old rust bucket now. Love how the rat rods took off. It's all we could afford back in my day. Keep it alive bro. Your doing great! Have you ever watched Rat Rod Bob? Just an old guy that does really good work. You could get some old time ideas from that guy. His rat rods look freaking great. He works alone all the time, does it by himself. I think his trade mark is the stitch welded bodies, and 9 gage wire. Check him out once just to see. Later bro, I like your project it's looking cool.
Used to have long hair like yours. Wound it up in creepers wheels more time than I want to remember. Got me a flat top and haven't had a problem since.😁
Hey Dan , this time it's Lori... my vote is minion for the old compressor tank . It will give the kids in the area something to laugh about and look forward to seeing when they go by !
That was impressive , moving the body to frame , nice work on the metal patches . I also cant believe the amount of snow you still have to deal with . I’m in New York State still been stunning beautiful here had to mow lawn yesterday Peace friend . JM Brown
The Minion, you should do a yard walk once the snow melts, looks like you have some interesting stuff. Car is looking good. “Fun job”, some days you got to jump to something different just to keep excitement.
I'm not a big 00-40s hot rod guy but this is coming out sweeter than I expected it was going to for my perspective.the height is sorta early old school hot rod. Paint in that weird original Ford black and hand letter dd speed shop on it and have a sweet old school look.
Wow! She's one tiny little ride! It will be fast but it's so small it kinda worries me but no the other game it will be loads of fun!!!! Just be careful!!!!
Looks good, all street rods got to have loud exhaust that can be seen keep it up,I don't know what else you could need, 57,55,short bed square body pickup that's some collection, and we all saw you work to get it all.way to go keep it up.
You might want to buy an OEM style rubber transmission mount and integrate it into your mount design. Since your engine is solid mounted you'll end up breaking the tailhousing if you solid mount it too. Have seen many guys make that mistake.
Good morning Dan i sure wish I still had the energy you have looking great lots of hard work but hey when you love what you do its not a lot like work keep on keepin on!
Looking good. Have you got the steering box sorted yet? That can mess with exhaust plans quick. I'd go minion with the tank. Torch in one hand and wrench in the other. Give him a big Dan hairdo haha. Thanks for sharing
Nice job on the metal work. i like the low or channelled look myself. I never saw a.265/ 283/327/that didnt have those holes in the front already tapped ?mite want to check out cubes.hope we still bros.
I like the "Rake" once the back end gets loaded with gas ,battery etc. the ride height my be ok. Let's see a VW 21 window bus!!! and the rest of your "Yard Art" keep'em coming.....
Those side pipes look cool I saw another guy on you tube do the same way Jonathan w. I'm sure u have seen some of his stuff or heard of him but he did the same thing then ran it down along the bottom of the door like u were talking about with some glass packs and it turned out nice So yeah you have it going in the right direction and it is going to be a cool cruiser
Is there anything cooler than side pipes on a hot rod?
Thanks for another fine episode, zoomies has always been a nice look. ✌th-cam.com/video/Mh9_WauUz-o/w-d-xo.html

DD Speed Shop nope, my whole T project started because of a set of cool headers I got off Kijiji for a hundred bucks lol
Nope ! Nuf said.

Exhaust Headers look Great so far !!

OMG, that 57 looks so good backing through the snow! Brings back lots of memories!!! :)
haha yeah its a good cruiser
This is a true traditional hot hot, they made what they needed and used what they had loving it

Thanks 👍
That was cool to see the glowing flash inside the header cone when you were torching the holes.
haha yeah its cool looking
Dan, the ole T is really looking cool! You put so much work into your rods! As for the old air compressor, the tank would make a great BBQ grill, that way you could have functional yard art and cook up some great grub!
thanks don! Im just not much of a grill master haha
Dan, anybody that can master rods like you do can certainly master a grill!
So it’s back together as a roller, pretty cool work, and the headers into the tube nice...
yeah its cool looking thats for sure
I like the way she sits. Looking sweet dude!
thanks!
Looking very good...the old T will look fantastic when done...
Hope so!
Yes! Definitely a Minion.
Dan, that compressor tank would make a hell of a pot belly stove/oven considering how cold it gets where you are. We're just coming out of summer here in Australia. Stay well, cheers
haha it would be a sweet stove but it's HUGE

Stance looks great. Nice job!!! Looking forward to the next vid.
thanks buddy! I'm working on it
Big old tanks like that make great lawn rollers.
haha im sure it would
Used to have long hair like yours. Wound it up in creepers wheels more time than I want to remember. Got me a flat top and haven't had a problem since.😁
yup, i have that problem daily haha
That little t looks great. Like the slicks on the back . The tank would make a neat vw bus or weld some fins on and make it look like a bomb
haha i kinda wanted a bomb but it might not fit with the neighbors
Hey Dan , this time it's Lori... my vote is minion for the old compressor tank . It will give the kids in the area something to laugh about and look forward to seeing when they go by !
haha yeah, im kinda leaning that way too. Just gotta figure out a way that it wont tip over
THIS IS GOIN TO BE A FUN BUILD!!!
yeah its fun so far
Coming along nicely, diggin' the pipes!
thanks! me too

The “ T “ is looking cool, it’s definitely a keeper
yeah its got a spot in my heart for sure haha
Your "fence art" trick is hilarious. I'll have to remember that one. I bet the neighbors love it.

the hot rod is coming along great. i’m digging the blue rims. the minion is a great idea but i would paint it to look like a giant prozac pill

I like that rake you got going on the cab. Awesome project
yeah, old school cool
...like the steelies look !
yeah i dig it too
Looking really cool . Can't wait to see it finished .
You and me both!
You might want to buy an OEM style rubber transmission mount and integrate it into your mount design. Since your engine is solid mounted you'll end up breaking the tailhousing if you solid mount it too. Have seen many guys make that mistake.
yup i got one. just gotta build a mount for it
Cars looking sweet. You shop is looking good. It’s turning into a studio.
thanks buddy!
Man, she's looking so good!!

I love the way this car looks. cant wait to see it laying rubber down !
You and me both!
I love the look that "T" has. and you being tall you can rest your arm on the roof !
It’s beginning to look good, you do good work, keep it up it’s going to be sharp.

Great job! Your T is coming together and looking great. Keep it up. I love seeing what you are doing as you get this one together.
Thanks! Will do!
Great progress Dan.

Concave baloni cut the ends. I have Vance n Hines Longshot on my Softail. That cut looks cool.
Looking great side pipes for sure,The height looks almost right.
yeah once it has some more weight in it, im sure itll be great
Well done. I've done this by myself a few times. my wife thinks i'm nuts sometimes. Most sketchy\heaviest was a 1927 Essex 4 door

Im liking it! Great job on the header! Yeah, id say keep that for sure!!!!!
haha i think its a keeper now
Most definitely a keeper....

I think you should try huge tires on the back and smaller on the front. Just to see what it looks like. Might be cool. But just a thought
Yeah I have a set of slicks. Harder to roll around inthe shop woth those haha
@@DDSpeedShop cool
The chop, rake, headers, Perfect. When your standing next to it, doesn't look like you can fit in it, lol
haha ill squeeze in

Pipes are old school crazy. Gonna be loud
haha yeah. I gotta baffle em for sure
I looking forward to seeing this Beast when it's done...its cool..👍
thanks buddy! its really coming together
You do great metal work.
thanks!
If you paint it the Satin Black or HOT ROD BLACK color you should stencil your shop logo on the doors. Then make it work looking.
yeah i think ill pin stripe it for sure

yup new laws last year. Itll pass once its all done

Its really looking good gotta admit its growing on me , like it way more than I thought I would . And a minion air tank would look cool in the yard .

everyone needs side pipes!
Very cool. Great show.

Like your work ethic, put your head down and get it done, t looks great, do you ever not have snow where you are?

Hey Dan. Not sure how you would do it but you can now have exhaust cut outs installed in your car...legally. In Manitoba ever since last March.
