I started learning the guitar at age 42, specifically to learn the Mcfly Johnny B Goode I’d seen as a teenager. The only lessons I found at that time were the Chuck Berry version, so I continued learning guitar for the next few years, until life got the better of me. Now aged 54, I came across your lesson and was so overjoyed I picked the guitar up again for the first time in four years. Thank you my dude 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

OMG this is fantastic! I always knew that Marty's version is different than the original. I know the Marty's version from movie and maybe thanks tho that I much preffer Marty's version than the original. It sounds just amazing! Time re-learnig this :)

Thank you for explaining that about B flat. I wondered why Chuck Berry would select such an awkward key. The key of A would seem to be much more logical.
Been playing that song since 1974, and seldom is the intro done the exact same way as the previous time. It’s a rock and roll classic, been covered by just about everyone. Check out Hendrix in the west, imho best version ever, next to Chuck.

This an oldie…well it’s an oldie where I come from.
I always imagined the Starlighters just playing the song in B instead of B-flat because that was easier on the bass player and the brass band in the back.
The late great Rick Parfitt from Status Quo must have had wrists of superman strength.

Could you do some Two Door Cinema Club songs please? Also may not be a popular band in UK but an Irish band called The Coronas have some great guitar riffs and licks that would suit intermediate players like me but I find it hard to read tabs and there’s no tutorials on TH-cam at all!

I plugged straight into my amp (Victory sheriff 22) and had all the dials at 12 o clock except volume, which was on 1 (out of 10).
Tbh, it's a joy to have an amp that doesn't have 100 different amp styles, patches, or Bluetooth. Just turn the thing on, put the gain where you want it, put the right guitar into it, and that's the sound. It's a joy. But then, I LOVE the plexi sound and rarely want my amp to sound like anything else

Barre chord boogie shuffle- I just can't stretch my little finger up two frets so, over the years, have found other ways to fake it. Can you help me find a thumb/hand position that will allow me to do it the chorrect way please -i.e. as you play it here. Thanks in advance
