i m with you on the Atak being too loud ... it was fun at first but believe me it gets old quick updates: 5 months on gen2 raptor + borla S type system and I still loving everything about it. Thanks for the review led me to swapping out the atak for this. The cold start during cold winter morning sounds great without pissing off the neighbors ... too much =)
@@mohammedaljug4039 I installed it myself with truck parked on the ground,without ramps by myself in about 1-2 hours time. It's pretty easy if you're mechanically inclined.
damn... I'm really thinking about getting one of the last Raptors around me bc I really like this generation... but the exhaust note though. This borla sounds great after startup but all aftermarket exhausts sound so bad to me under acceleration..... I wish they just had a deeper rumble
Why is it always about the sound. Having driven both the 6.2 and the 3.5eb the 2nd gen is so much quicker than the 1st gen but all i hear is people bitching and complaining about the "muh V8 rumble though". If you're buying trucks for the sound then buy something else, if you want a truck to hoon around and with a couple of bolt on parts be pretty quick even by car standards then get a raptor.
@@dodo19923 no, you literally just made it into a V8 vs V6 thing. I just said it sounds bad and absolutely every exhaust you put on a Raptor will only make it sound worse, in my opinion. The exhaust note *is* a part of the experience, to me. That being said I'm still in the market for a Raptor and am literally looking at them right now. The sound is it's only drawback. You can't even handle people mentioning one bad thing about your favorite truck, even though it's literally just ONE (1) thing??? Also, a truck doesn't need to be fast imo. I'm considering a Raptor because I need something decent off road, and my RAM is not sufficient enough anymore.

Just in EVERY video about cars it's always SOUND SOUND SOUND people comment about and never the handling, looks, comfort and the rest. Seems to be a very Americanized thing that as long as the car/truck "sounds" good then the rest doesn't matter. As for my "favourite" truck, it's the VW amarok which i don't think you guys get in the states, shame because they're brilliant when stock and even better when modded. I like raptors and wish they'd put the 3.5 in the "ranger raptor" over in europe instead of the shitty 2.0 which would have made it an absolute monster off road but politics saw that idea off.
@@dodo19923 I understand, but I can also see why Americans expect a truck (especially the one that is supposed to be the 'meanest') to sound a certain way. My problem is that they obviously tried to give it it's own distinctive sound (because it's not quiet by any means + augmented in the cab), but it just doesn't sound pleasant to me. And actually, I'm not American at all. I live in Belgium, so I definitely know what an Amarok is! I also don't know why the Ranger Raptor gets a ridiculous 2 liter when you can still get a regular Ranger with a 3.2 liter 5 cylinder, and V6'es clearly work as well (look at the Amarok, the X class, ...). I actually drive a RAM 5.7 V8. I wanted to say FCA sells them in Western Europe (except the UK probably), but I think they have multiple organisations responsible now for even Scandinavian Europe and so on... By far the best selling truck in the Netherlands and Belgium for example, but I came to realize (or realise, never know which spelling to use) it's just not good enough off-road for me anymore. I went with a RAM because interior-wise and feature-wise, the American full sizes blow our mid-sizes out of the water. But more importantly: I didn't want a diesel, and there are no gas (or petrol) options unless you consider a full size half ton. Test drove a Raptor last week, and after everyone warning me how much harsher the ride will be and everything, I was blown away by how much smoother it is and obviously a lot quicker as well. It actually genuinely drove so nice. They're just so hard to get right now because production has stopped, but I'm still trying. I have to admit I took the sound of my V8 for granted until I was put in a V6 loaner for a bit... I really enjoy the exhaust note, but I can see why most Europeans think that's stupid because we're all used to mainly
Now that is how a Raptor should sound... I may just change my mind about getting one and getting you guys to install a Borla S-Type Exhaust Muffler and Mid-Pipe.
Never been able to own anything that sounds like that, and time is running out on me with all this bleating about electric cars going on in recent years. I'm like yeah, I'm concerned about the environment, but I've got to have the pleasure of owning and driving something that growls like that. I want somebody else to be the one to turn down their radio and wind down their window when I pull up beside them at the traffic lights so that they can hear the beast growl when the lights go green, ...and I bet you I'll indulge them. But times running out on me and I'm still in the red, so it's the Micra for now ☹️

It's the 60 degree V6. It's what any V6 car from the 80's and 90's sounded like with loud exhaust
