    It sounds so odd to hear someone say "from Sears" but 2016 they were still on their last leg.

    I love using the folding bikes. Using it to get in and out of the train.

    Great review. I just bought used $50 off craigslist. Sturdy design, seat sucks, up hill challenging but great if you like the workout. No match with my now sold Giant mountain with gears but compact, folding, and convenient for big city commuting!!

      It is very tough on the hills but overall it's a good commuter bike. Great deal you found. Thanks for watching!

    I have owned this bike for nearly 2 years now, although it was not labeled a Shwinn but a Roadmaster with a nice blue color. Great bike! love it, you WILL have to replace the cheap seat it came with though, I bought a $60 Selle Royal for it and no more butt pain =) the bike is great, love the bag it came with, though the detachable shoulder strap will break/tear where it connects to the bag due to shotty sewing, I'd suggest reinforcing that. The bike rides great and can keep up with 26" tire bikes, though with quite a bit of pedaling. As long as you don't live in a hilly or windy area the bike is a joy to ride, but any kind of head wind or incline you will feel it. Only problem is the plastic chain guard, it broke shortly after use and again after fix. Would totally buy this bike again.
    Pros:
    - Great Price, should be able to get around the $250 that I paid ordering it at Staples.... yeah, Staples sells bikes apparently!! =O
    - Compact, folded up the dimensions are 26″ x 28″ x 11″, toss in your trunk, apartment closet, or even on public transportation.
    - Solid Construction, steel frame comes in at 33lbs or 14kgs (14.9685kgs for those of us that have to be precise)
    - Storage Bag, Mine came with storage bag, while it can be a bit of a hassle to put the bike in the bag, some stores will kick you out if you enter the store with a folding bike EVEN if it's in it's folded configuration.... but only laugh when you come back in with it in a bag, "what? Everyone else has a backpack or gym bag, why is bag any different?" lol XD
    Cons:
    - Seat Sucks, you WILL want to buy a new seat
    - Single speed, stuck in one gear, can suck when going up hill or into wind. (not really a con for me but could be for others)
    - Steel Frame, even for a 20" tire some may find carrying around 33 pounds a bit heavy, aluminum bikes of similar size can be half the weight.
    - Constant Questing - can get a bit annoying constantly answering questions about the bike when on public transportation by bus drivers, passengers, crazy people , etc.
    My 2 cents: I'm happy with it and would recommend for someone on a budget or not looking to spend a lot.

  • @megaman1on1

    Hey, I dunno if you're still using this bike, but genuine question: It says the bike's capacity is about 220 lbs. I gotta admit, I'm kinda vergin' on that, man. My question is if you're still using this, how it's operating now 2 years later or if it's starting to show wear and tear, and also if you think it could support a guy at just a bit short of 220 with a backpack? I mean, I get that I'm gonna lose some weight while biking around (Cuz I'm using this to shorten a 50 minute walk to hopefully a 20-25 minute bike ride), and when I go back to working out, I tend to easily get back down to 180 and level out there, but I still am a bit afraid of whether or not this will support me UNTIL then, or if I should possibly look for something else?
    I do need to get something a bit compact hence folding bikes, due to reasons of where I live, and while I don't intend to go "cheapest bidder", I still can't break the bank. So I'm curious if this is the one for me, to get back and forth between college, or if you might have some other folding bike you might be able to recommend by this point? Sorry to ask all this, but if you can help, it'd be greatly appreciated! And great vid, it's kinda what's selling me on this bike for sure!

    • @tommydangervlog
      @tommydangervlog  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I was 220 when I filmed this video and was riding it with a stress fracture femur on my right. I used it to commute one mile each way to work with a hill without a problem. Very light and easy to fold. If you want an alternative at a higher cost look at the brompton at 1k or a Dahon for about $500. I have family members who swear by both of them. Hope this helps and thanks for watching!

    Thank your for this review! It really helped me to make my decision. My Hinge is on his way!
    My main concern about it is that I've read it may be a little bulky while folded, what's your experience on that matter?

    I actually had to get a carry bag because the bag that came with the bike was too small for me. Sure, it could fit but I wasn't doing it. I have a similar bike.
    Mind telling me how to fold the pedals? I don't want to break it and I've tried looking online but this instruction is not easy...or do I just stomp on the pedals?

    • @tommydangervlog
      @tommydangervlog  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I agree. It was designed rather poorly. The bike has to be folded exact to fit properly. Thanks for watching!

      @@tommydangervlog I found a carrying bag for $30 on Amazon. The bag feels pretty thick but I'll use it when I plan to go bike riding. I should be thanking you for the tutorials.

      If you look there are conversion kits. the kind where the battery and motor are encased in a hum inthe front tire, you can find them for nearly any size tire, 20" electric tires are more available now

      Tommy Danger De nada esta muy padre la bici, y la mayoria de mis recoridos son en recta, espero que mas adelante muestres mas bicicletas plegables, a mi me gustan mucho las bicicletas convencionales, y en cuanto conoci las plegables me encantaron, yo tengo una rodada 16" al arancar despues de un semaforo en alto, despega bien y rapido pero cuando ya voy encarrerado, siento que ya no acelera mas x mucho que pedale, me da la censacion de que traigo el paso mas grande ese que se ocupa para subidas. Y no se de que ciudad o pais seas Tomi pero yo soy de cdmx antes df y de aragon a oceania direccion hacia bulevar y zaragoza he intentado subir el cerro del peñon en el paso o estrella mas grande creo que es el 1 y no puedo tengo que suvir caminando,no se si devo cambiar el exproc x uno de 8 o hasta 10 pasos, para lograr subir. Saludos y gracias.
