We were considerably helped by being a member of the EU and before people who don't seem to know what they were voting for decided to make the UK the only country in world history to ever vote for trade sanctions on itself. ...a matter that has so far cost this country £100 billion according to independent economists. The very small percentage of foreign aid (from total revenue) helps this country as it is given with strings attached..and, a such benefits British workers whose goods and services are bought where the aid goes.. As for the remainder do you really begrudge people in countries where we have so often historically exploited their resources, even stealing their wealth? The foreign aid is something to be proud of and something to which all Western countries contribute....not least because helping development reduces the need for economic migration.

I don’t like the decision that’s been taken but you must admit it’s a bit rich of the tories, they’ve run the public finances into the ground, having slashed all public departments to the bone to the degree where there’s nothing left to cut, and now point the finger at the incoming government who are diligently trying to sort this all out. Pensioners are actually quite plushly seen to, triple lock on pensions (I wish I had a TL on my wage!), most have no mortgage and if they are in hardship, then that’s what pension credit if for. The Tory press argued for years that it should be means tested, and not that’s the case they call Labour murderers, makes no sense. As a socialist I believe in universal benefits so I would have fought harder to save it, but the sight of tories trying to point the finger is laughable, they created this mess.

Many of our pensioners income is a lot less than those on benefits, yet we still pay council tax and income tax (yet a lot of those on benefits don't.) I am one of those just barely over the universal credit limit , so unable to claim. I need a new boiler and while investigating about getting a new one for the best price I can, I saw there are so many places that people on UC and other benefits can get them for free. although my income is a lot less than many on UC I have to pay for mine, how is that right ? Also I had to pay £70 for a tooth filling, something else UC claimants get for free. Their heating hasn't gone up any more than anyone else. The WFA should be for all or none, not means tested.

We were considerably helped by being a member of the EU and before people who don't seem to know what they were voting for decided to make the UK the only country in world history to ever vote for trade sanctions on itself. ...a matter that has so far cost this country £100 billion according to independent economists. The very small percentage of foreign aid (from total revenue) helps this country as it is given with strings attached..and, a such benefits British workers whose goods and services are bought where the aid goes.. As for the remainder do you really begrudge people in countries where we have so often historically exploited their resources, even stealing their wealth? The foreign aid is something to be proud of and something to which all Western countries contribute....not least because helping development reduces the need for economic migration.

I don’t like the decision that’s been taken but you must admit it’s a bit rich of the tories, they’ve run the public finances into the ground, having slashed all public departments to the bone to the degree where there’s nothing left to cut, and now point the finger at the incoming government who are diligently trying to sort this all out. Pensioners are actually quite plushly seen to, triple lock on pensions (I wish I had a TL on my wage!), most have no mortgage and if they are in hardship, then that’s what pension credit if for. The Tory press argued for years that it should be means tested, and not that’s the case they call Labour murderers, makes no sense. As a socialist I believe in universal benefits so I would have fought harder to save it, but the sight of tories trying to point the finger is laughable, they created this mess.

And now you’re taking money off off pensioners. I hope one day you become a pensioner in poverty. I am one of those just barely over the universal credit limit , so unable to claim. I need a new boiler and while investigating about getting a new one for the best price I can, I saw there are so many places that people on UC and other benefits can get them for free. although my income is a lot less than many on UC I have to pay for mine, how is that right ? Also I had to pay £70 for a tooth filling, something else UC claimants get for free. Their heating hasn't gone up any more than anyone else. The WFA should be for all or none, not means tested.

I'm a pensioner, just above the pension credit threshold. I have access to the internet but only at the library, I'm scared to put my details into a public domain system. I am able bodied not all pensioners have that luxury. How do they apply for for pension credit. MPs have no idea of the real world.
