- In this we learn about Earth Spirit's ultimate, Magnetize. We look at how the Magnetize duration refreshes, how it spreads to other units, how the damage works, and other things.
Magnetize was fun to learn about, especially since I don't play Earth Spirit. It has me thinking maybe I'll start trying him out, and also has me appreciating great players like Cr1t and Jerax who make this hero look so easy. Hopefully from this video you can either feel better equipped to play against Earth Spirit, or find some motivation like me to play him, or both!

Nice video! As a quick addition: Aghanim's Scepter "magnetize" skill refreshes ult in a similar way to putting a new stone in that place. It works both for magnetizing an existing stone remnant, and also for magnetizing a hero. If you magnetize remnants, the CD is very low, and you can literally make your max ult duration DOUBLE.
I think you meant to say enchanting instead of magnetizing. Magnetizing is the act of the ultimate while enchanting is the act of turning remnant/heroes into a stone remnant.
Nice video man, but i think it would be interesting if you would do a video on how do barracks / lane creeps actually work. This being all the diffrent creep waves , normal,super,mega creep diffrences etc...

How does the doctor's maledict actually work? I know that it does dmg based on how much dmg the target receives. But I still don't understand how each tick of dmg works
Maledict is essentially both DPS and a weaker version of Necro's ult Reaper's Scythe.
It deals some magic damage per second, then after 4 seconds it checks how much HP you lost since getting that Maledict debuff, let's say you lost 100HP, the debuff then deals an additional percentage of that as damage on that pulse, and this repeats 2 more times.
You are kinda wrong.
WD's maledict deals dmg per second, and ticks 3 times. The dmg per tick is based on the health that the target is missing, like Necro's ult. I can see how one could get confused, but this means that Maledict gets completely countered by heals.
Tic #2 deals 0 dmg if you get fully healed for example
less hp = more dps
@@sebastianbonilla1323 Yea my bad on the wording choices, also I forgot to mention that the pulse doesn't deal any damage if your HP is above the HP you had when maledict was applied.
Also it's only the pulses (burst damage) that adapts to HP lost, the little magic damage per second (currently 12/18/24/30 DPS) that occurs for the whole duration is unaffected in any way (except when enemy becomes spell immune, but do note that the burst damage still occurs), since maledict can't even be dispelled.
@@sebastianbonilla1323 you are also wrong. When Maledict has a big tick (the one every 4 seconds) it deals damage relative to the target's HP at the moment when Maledict was cast. It's not like Reaper's Scythe which is based of total HP lost. Even if you cast Maledict on a hero that is almost dead, they might not die if you don't deal additional damage after casting Maledict
Please do Kunkka Admiral Rum/Ghost Ship because my very smart archon teammate says it makes them take damage
Ghost Ship only applies Rum Buff to allies when they touch the ship, and this buff gives them bonus movement speed, and reduces all damage that they take for a few seconds.
Once the Rum buff expires, it checks to see if you took any damage during its duration. If you did (most cases you do), then the Sobering Up buff is applied to you immediately after the Rum buff disappears.
The Sobering buff causes you to take all that damage that was reduced by the Rum buff, which is spread evenly throughout a 10-second duration. The damage taken here is actually flagged as HP Removal, meaning that it won't cancel Blink Daggers or dispel Salve, and it's also non-fatal, meaning you won't die to the Sobering buff.
TLDR: It's a weaker AOE False Promise, but with no healing bonuses.
Both Rum and the Sobering buffs cannot be dispelled.

Wow, I didn't know that Earthspirit was this strong. It's new to me that all magnetized unit will have the same earthspirit debuff if one of them is hit by it.

Please do spectre’s dispersion it’s confusing as it does damage to non attacker
As long as spectre takes damage, the nearby units takes damage. The nearer you are to spectre, the more damage you take, up to 800 radius.
dp ult is much more confusing than specs dispersion. You notice how you chase an enemy with dp ult and it just tails them but not deal damage? yeah ive seen it happen to me before and i wanna why it works like that, maybe because theres a certain radius? Also how many spirits can latch on 1 target, do they all latch on a single target all at the same time or like in an interval? DP ult is freaking confusing as fuck, although you wouldnt really care in game as it happens so fast you wont really notice these things all the time. I JUST WANNA FREAKING KNOW!
@@kirkgulle254 if u hit them with basic attack or spells then the ghost will attack
@@kirkgulle254 u need to hit the enemy with basic attack, it make your ghost focus to one target only, they attack randomly if you only chase them

As usual a great video. Thanks for your work. I think pangoliers swashbuckle would be another spell with various interesting interactions such as when you pass through enemies during cast or with various neutral items such as brigands blade.

you don't need to remember all this unless you are playing ES. All you need to know when playing against ES is to stay away from his rock.

Thank you for the video. A topic not explained well in-game is cast points. Could you explain the differences between cast point behaviors? Like 0s vs instant vs toggle and how those matter for queuing spells/items through chain disable.

As a frequent Techies player I would love to see which spells stop the jump motion of Blast Off!
For example: Drows Gust stops it midair, Mars' Arena stops it kind of, cliffs (ward tower cliffs) can be in the way of a Blast Off! aiming behind it.

So, I guess the best way to make use of it, without being big-brain enough to consider all this, would be:
Initially cast it when next to 2 or more enemies. Then focus on just dropping stones on them every 3-4 seconds. Throw in some kicks to extend it if you're feeling spicy.
Just focusing on extending the existing durations is enough to think about, and spreading it will happen naturally in a teamfight.
Coming in with 1300 games on es I also add: if hero has an dispel, spread the magnetize to creeps too. So after they dispell the first magnetize you can refresh it again off a creep. I always do it to Legions farming lane
Now we know... cause I avoid playing ESpirit cause I barely get how the ulti works
3:34 how did magnetize affect the enemies?? Was the PA in range for magnetize? PA looks very far
what about OD's astral ? it count as hidden or invulnerable abillity ?
The targeted unit is hidden/untargetable except when you're using OD's ultimate, as it still damages the unit in the astral (if it's an enemy, of course)
Never realized throughout my entire dota career that magnetize share the slow and silent effect. I feel so herald right now
