    Thanks for this video - this is a great place to use some of the 1/2 yard fabric sets I've bought because I liked the fabric, but didn't have something specific in mind. Table runners are perfect! And this technique will be quick to do.

      I have such a hard time picking a favorite from all the fabulous Art Gallery Fabrics designers ... but Maureen is one of them for sure! 🥰

    Im interested in the batting roll. Can you tell me what it is please? New to your channel and love it!! Thank you!

      Batting rolls like this are often sold for doing machine embroidery. Check with a quilt shop that does machine embroidery, and they should have some. 🥰

    Love your detailed instructions. Thanks!! What Sashiko projects do you do?

    • @CarolinaMoore
      @CarolinaMoore  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have quilted several quilts (working on finishing one up right now). Have also added quilting to a bag. And I have a video on using the sashiko machine to add binding. 🥰

    Where do you get your batting? I've looked online and can't find it, so I thought I'd ask you. Hopefully you can send me the info. Thanks!

    One more question, if I was getting batting from JoAnn's what would you recommend?

    • @CarolinaMoore
      @CarolinaMoore  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Batting is really personal - do you want the quilt to be warm? Fluffy? Do you have allergies? Will it be on a bed, a wall, or entered into shows?
      A good batting for general use is 80/20 (80% cotton, 20% polyester). It isn't to thick or too warm, doesn't shrink too much, and lays nicely.

  • @kimw4324
    @kimw4324 ปีที่แล้ว

    How hard would it be to do a quilt large enough for a bed using this method or do you have another suggestion for us beginners?

    • @CarolinaMoore
      @CarolinaMoore  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It is totally do-able! I'd practice with something smaller like this table runner first. A bed-sized quilt-as-you-go would be a lot of bulk to fit under the sewing machine, so you may want a machine with a larger throat space to fit all that batting.

    Where can I find the next video of you binding?

    • @CarolinaMoore
      @CarolinaMoore  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It turns out that I didn't have a video just on binding. I've done binding as part of projects, but never a video just on binding! I fixed that. Just got this one uploaded today. Hopefully it helps: th-cam.com/video/elFtF4tGwXA/w-d-xo.html

      You can also use a walking foot.

      Thanks for letting me know! I just checked and it looks fine on my end? Is there maybe an ad on the bottom third? Just press the little "x" on the ad to get rid of it.

      I think it is kept with the machine embroidery supplies?

  • @fmjfrazier

    Why would you spray so close to your machine.

    • @CarolinaMoore
      @CarolinaMoore  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Valid question! I usually don't, but trying to set up cameras elsewhere to show the process is a *huge* hassle, and people like to see all the steps. I don't have much overspray, so it shouldn't be a big deal ... but it for sure isn't a good idea to spray near the machine on a regular basis. I should have mentioned that in the video. 🥰

      My kids think so too! But, usually they are stuck in the car with me, so there is nothing they can do about it. You had the option to scroll past, but instead went with door number 2 of leaving this comment. Interesting choice. 🤷‍♀️
