This woman is amazing! "Mine aren't perfect, and I don't die over it" - how could you just not love her? I have a few charm packs I'm going to do for holidays and I'm using this. I'm going to do decorative stitches instead of stitching in the ditch. I can't wait! Thank you Jenny!
I just read her book How to Stitch an American Dream. You will lover her even more after reading that book. What she and her family have been through and yet she handled it ALL with such grace!!

One thing I love about Jenny is “ we do the best we can don’t die over it “ it shows us we are not perfect, nothing is. Quilting scares many because there is so many that do awesome work and others that are learning. Thank you Jenny for words of courage.

Thank you Jenny, I'll do this for my best friend for her birthday, I did quilt for 14 years with 11 more friends, after covid we didn't start again. I really love quilting and I thought to do this beautiful quilt would be vey difficult because we quilted square blankets. Now I'm going to my closet to choose fabrics for the quilt. I wish Jenny was my Mum, I wouldn't have had to wait until I was 43 to start quilting. She makes it so easy to understand. Her natural teaching style makes this novice feel like it's not totally beyond me. Plus as an Aussie I just love her accent, I could listen to her all day, and I often hear her instructions ringing in my ear in her accent as I sew. 💗💗💗
This is the first project I made after my broken arm healed! I got such a burst of confidence from completing this pretty runner. The pattern is perfect for our dark-finished mission style coffee table. I can play with the contrast between the fabrics and the table top for a nice look. Thanks, Jenny.
I made this Zig Zag table runner over a year ago after watching your tutorial. Just a couple months ago, taught this to 3 friends when we gathered for a day of sewing. They loved it, and now one of them has made 4 for gifts. Thank you again for this great tutorial and such a neat table runner.

I know that this tutorial is a few yrs old, however,,,,it was actually today that I saw this on pintrest and was thinking that I should make something for 2 Christmas tables as well as my buffet, I have a few Christmas charm packs and now I have the idea of what ( at least) 2 of them will be done, I originally had the easy pinwheels in mind but I saw this, I cant believe that I just stumbled on this,,TODAY, when I wanted to work w/ those charm packs!! Thank you kindly for the tutorial, and your other ones also, bc I caught a tutorial the other day on the easy baby cuddle fabric quilt, I placed an order to your shop ( my local shop does not carry the pre cuts and I love them!!)What that tutorial did was show me how to make a quick baby gift in one sitting, Love love love your tutorials!! I made a quilted zig zag table runner for my Mom's birthday. I machine embroidered each square with something she likes, then followed your instructions. Amazing! Thank you for pointing out that it's okay to stray a little outside the ditch. Kept me from stressing over the small stuff.
I have my runner on the table ready to sew, and LOVED this tutorial because I didn't know where to go once it was sewn.....great showing how!!!!!!!!!

I love this quick table runner and I really need ways to use up my FQs! A little tip I use at the open end after turning is to slip a small strip (just a bit shorter than your opening) of fusible web between the layers before ironing down seam allowances. Then you have a finished edge to top-stitch or not! Thanks for all your great tutorials, I'm learning sooo much!

I like that you speak in simple english and you take your time so I can pause and write down instructions as I go through your video's. Also I usually rewatch your tutoritals for each project I am making several or more times, until I GET it right. Trust me sometimes I don't listen correctly. I am so happy that God has blessed me with finding you and your tutorials.

I taught this as a class in a county extension creative camp session one. year. It was amazing to see how different the table runners looked when finished. It looks like an intermediate quilting project, but really it’s quite easy. For my demo I used about 1 1/2 charm packs to get more variety in colors and designs and a longer length. Be sure to press well before you join the front to the back, after you turn it right side out, and when finished quilting the layers together. If any intersections don’t want to lay flat, use a clapper (a smooth piece of wood). I saw a video in which an experienced dress maker used a rubber mallet to tame intersections that wanted to stick up. If you have a stitch-in-the-ditch foot, it will help immensely with the top stitching. It has a blade underneath that glides right along the “ditch” where two seams come together. Happy sewing!😊

Jenny I love your tutorials. I also love, how on this one, you pointed out that you missed the ditch but no ones going to die over it. Sometimes I put stuff aside because I don't think they are perfect but like you said, if you don't tell anyone they won't notice.

Made this for my friend at work. and she loved it....used Nostalgia Charm Pack. This is so quick and easy I made it in an afternoon. Fantastic gift or for home. Next one is for me! for a change...LOL
Jenny is such fun. I love her little "don't die over it" and "wrestling with an elephant..." Her skills are amazing - I can't even speak while at the sewing machine or my straight line isn't! Thank you Jenny for this beautiful table topper tutorial. I'm so looking forward to giving it a go (I'm still a beginner), and a great way to use lots of leftover fabric.

MissouriQuiltCo Pooh, I haven't made one yet, but my new grandson just had open heart surgery (age 3 weeks now), so I think have a good excuse! haha. He's coming along great, though, and I will be back to my sewing soon enough. Keep those FUN projects coming!

Jenny, I just love this table runner. This was one of the first tutorials that I had watched a couple years ago. And now trying to make it. I am so glad that you have these tutorials for us newer quilters. I took a couple classes over 20 yrs ago and had a coma and was unable to do any more. And now starting again just because of you. I hope that I do a good job and I will send you a picture. I don't have the words to thank you for putting the fire back in me. You are the greatest.

Once again another Great lesson, Jenny. I liked that you mention that quilting is for fun, not criticism. I have found that if I put my two hands on either side of stitching line and pull a tad, it opens the "ditch" up better for me.

This is my favorite tutorial. I made a table runner out of a mistletoe lane charm pack using this tutorial. It was so easy with Jenny's instructions.

I had made one of these a year or so ago...slightly different directions but the same overall runner. Made one today following your directions. It's got some flaws, but since I'm keeping it, I think it's gorgeous, haha! Thank you so much for all you do to help the rest of us learn and enjoy!

I started this runner yesterday and I'll be finished shortly (just have the stitch in the ditch left to do). I LOVE this pattern and design. I plan on making many more for Christmas gifts. I love this runner and have made so many of them! I think it is important to state that when layering your fabrics, the backing is laid right side up.

Leave it to me to layer this wrong and end up with my backing on the inside and my batting on the bottom! Oh well. I still love the top and will keep it as a conversation piece. Now to get to the store to get more fabric to make a correct one for my secret sister's birthday!!
Thank you for your videos. I learned how to quilt watching you.I've made dozens of quilts for family and friends. It really is the best way to show how much you care about those close to you. Every year I make something to give at Thanksgiving to start off the holiday season. Two years ago I made this table runner for everyone. It's been one of my favorite gifts to give. The only difference is that I quilt over the entire runner. I'm hoping you come up with a another winner this year! :)
