Are you able to control the Kickr resistance from the Garmin Edge or does it just record the workout passively? If that's possible, can you perform a workout (uploaded .erg file) where the Kickr resistance automatically changes following the Garmin Edge's commands?
How did you know your KICKR is #11564 . Mine picked up 2 codes neither of which are the numbers on wahoo. One image is a dumbbell and the other looks like a trainer flywheel...do I pick both. What about the climb..
You need to pick the flywheel one. The dumbbell one is the power meter. The climb doesn’t need to be paired to Garmin but should be paired to the kickr directly.
If your trainer is ANT+ compatible, then your Garmin should be able to identify it as an indoor trainer. Try using the "Search All" when pairing and see if Garmin find your trainer. You can control your trainer with a Garmin Edge device. You can manually control resistance or load workouts erg mode. You can also simulate a course profiles, etc. Also, some just like to be able to record the data or have another device recoding their workouts to see additional metrics not usually displayed in your training app or just to have a backup recording the workouts in case Zwift, TrainerRoad or whatever app you use crashes.
Thanks, this gave me better information than kickr gave me in two hours. Well done and easy to understand
Nice!!, this is exactly what I was looking for
Clear and concise, great video, thanks!

Can you double it with a pc and zwift then, while still having the power measurements for use in connect?
Yes, you can still connect your trainer to Zwift and use it with Garmin at the same time.

Great! After pairing I should be able to re ride a route I've done before on my Kickr V5?
Yes, You should be able to
how is that working with the edge 820? Can't find the mentioned options.
I don't have an 820 but it should work the same. Select Menu > Settings > Sensors > Add Sensor then Indoor Trainers
that is what I tried but there was no indoor trainers on the menu

is the kickr ant+ compatible?
Kai Bellmann yes it is
Garmin edge 830 does not pick up the speed and cadence from my wahoo kicker.
Did you pair the KICKR as a smart trainer?
It paired but only with ant+ not with Bluetooth from the kicker.
just curious, what's the point of pairing with Garmin Edge? I have kickr core and edge but not sure what that accomplishes?

He said Garmin found his kicker with the ID 11654, when the ID was actually 11564. Boy I sure hope somebody got fired for that blunder. /s
