Of these episodes, my S tier picks would be The Eleventh Hour, Amy’s Choice, The Pandorica Opens / The Big Bang, A Christmas Carol, The Impossible Astronaut, The Girl Who Waited, A Town Called Mercy, The Day of the Doctor, and The Time of the Doctor. Bottom tier would have to be Asylum of the Daleks, Closing Time, and The Crimson Horror, with a lot of others being in C tier but just escaping the bottom.
To paraphrase the Major in the Fawlty Towers episode Waldorf Salad…, “No! I won’t have that… there’s an episode in series 12!” But yeah, if you haven’t seen Orphan 55, Praxeus, The Timeless Children or Legend of the Sea Devils, you’re a genuinely lucky individual and I envy you.
Crimson horror for me is and always will be a comfort episode. I love the Victorian era. I love the paternoster gang. I love mysteries. I love Smith and Clara. So obviously this episode works for me, I’m not entirely sure why other seriously seem to hate the episode. Can you please explain your hatred for it so I can understand your opinion better.
Good Man! I'm glad to see you're a fan of Series 7B, just like I am, and also a fan of Clara and 11 together. They did have good chemistry together. I agree that Coleman and Matt Smith should have had an entire series together, they got short changed on just being together for half a series. I also agree that Victorain Clara should have been a Companion of 11 for longer. I understand why she had to die, but she could have lasted for half a series before they killed her off and then switched to Modern Clara for the other half. Crimson Horror "S" tier? Mmmmmmm..... Hide "C" tier? Mmmmmmm..... I definitely think Hide is better than The Crinsom Horror, maybe not "S" tier, but probably "A" tier. Crimson Horror maybe is "B" for me. The Name of the Doctor, The Day of the Doctor, Time of the Doctor, The Snowmen... all deserve "S" tier. Amy is okay as a Companion, Rorey has the personality of a wet mop early on. He never got the respect that Amy did, even in his death scene. He always played second fiddle to her and the Doctor. Can't wait to see how you rate the Capaldi era.
