Pretty sure this makes this the first melee singles video to hit 1million. The legacy of ROM will live on and Mew2King will be remembered as arguably the first player to optimize the game.
The depth at which this game is played fascinates me. It's obvious nintendo only intended this engine to be used wild clusterfuck fights. Yet people instead learned how every variable worked and turned it into a game with this much subtlety and openness of play that it's likened to starcraft. I wonder what would happen if someone actively tried to make a game to be played like this.

This clip showed the competitive side of this game. The depth and complexity of the gameplay shines through here. Up there with Justin Wong vs daigo in terms of greatest plays in fighting games
The importance of the stage from the ledges, to the platforms, to the space available makes competitive Smash more interesting. Many other fighting games pretty much only have one stage (w/ simply a change of background). Corners and walls are manipulated in other fighting games as well but those games are of course still fun.
