I read somewhere that The HU gave Lzzy free rein to write any lyrics and any melody she saw fit to lay over the top of the original score. That’s trust and credit to her vocals and writing.
Actually they sent her an English translation to the song (they had already written the whole thing), and asked her to add some English lines to it along the theme of what they had written, and were moved by the power of what she had written.

"I wish i knew what they were singing." Beth.... turn on your youtube closed captions... they made sure their songs are contextually translated into english for captions
None of the collaborations are as good as the originals. I realize they are doing the right thing for business and spreading popularity by doing so, but it’s outstanding on it’s own. Doesn’t need anything or anyone else.
If you listen toward the end of the song Lzzy does Throat/Tubal singing. It is singing 2 notes at once and IS very hard to learn. I've been a vocalist for 50 years and failed miserably at trying to learn it. I could easily have easily shredded my Vocal Cords so one must be mindful of that. Lzzy Hale is one of the most talented female artists of all time, I am obsessed with Halestorm. Lzzy always uses her mouth shapes to put out that beautiful sound, very apparent in her video "I Miss The Misery" especially in the word BLAME where she is singing behind her teeth! I am new to the Hu Band but LOVE them and will attend a live concert when they are near my city!
You should check out The Pretty Reckless’s song “25” they just did an unplugged version and put it up on their TH-cam the other day. Keep in mind, that’s Cindy Loo Hoo singing
Beth, you should really check out Florent Saifati of Landmvrks, particularly their new song Lost in a Wave. The range he expresses in the song along with the different styles of vocals is incredible. Would love to hear your breakdown of his vocals, plus it's just a great song lol.
I agree with Floor Jansen. Lzzy Hale is absolutely magnificent & this lyric & melody she added to this deep soulful Mongolian song makes it wholly accessible & understood by even the dumbest Westerner. This is our future. And between this and the Sad But True and Yuve Yuve Yu videos I begin to think The Hu are #ecofeminist.
Wonderful... song & reaction! Love The Hu!! And this is my favorite song (although Wolf Totem might tie, so many good ones already). Beth, went to your channel to check to see if you've reacted to 1 of my favorite metal bands (that I only 'discovered' a few months ago, even though they've been around for almost 20 yrs!) - and you haven't. Please give the Swedish band Avatar a go... I know you will like them & find Johannes' voice worth of a listen (or 2 or 10). They have great, creative, well-thought-out videos, but are amazing live (haven't seen them - yet, but I will, one day, along with Nightwish & Heilung). "Bloody Angel" is often the 1 reactor do first (PolandRock), but "New Land" or "Black Waters", imho, will give you a better 'taste' of his vocal ability... but anything is awesome. :)
Please React and Analyze Peter Hollens and Tim Faust singing Misty Mountains. It is acapella and only their two voices. You will be carried away. Love to hear your reaction
Yay you're finally during another song with Lzzy Hale and this is why I'm not doing reactions because every song be from Lzzy Hale and a Zora of Blackbriar the only two singers who matter. Zora of Blackbriar is a new band There is no one on a planet more hunting and beautiful vocals. I suggest Beautiful delirium
The scoops you stop at 11:00 to point out, best I can tell, are a quick push of the tongue toward the roof of the mouth and back down. The pitch being sung doesn't change, but the suddenly narrower space calls up short flashes of the higher overtones.
Something went wrong or youtube is drunk, these subtitles are for a christmas song by brenda lee. After stumbling into this channel through that recent Tom Scott collaboration (him singing and that then going to another person) I figured I'd check a few more things. Honestly can't say the music and singing terms make a whole lot of sense to me so far, but definitely more than before. Oh and I think many The Hu songs may end up on my playlists in the near future. I kinda want to see them live some time as well, but with the current state of the world I don't see that happening anytime soon.
"As if she kind of arose from the sound that they were making..." indeed. They sound like the Earth. But she sounds like the chain of all mothers back to the origin of life. All beings who gave birth to other beings.
Hi Beth Roars !! There are several important data and at the same time of interest, to start they invited Lzzy to sing this song with them, but, since she does not know Mongolian and they do not sing English Lzzy had to create her own lyric and introduce it in the song without distorting the tones or the times, was all a challenge, and I think her didn't have more than two months to do it. Here is now the result, two languages, two different lyrics and the same rhythm, if you read two different lyrics correctly, but both speak about women. For the Mongolian culture the mother is the highest in the family bond, and that is the part of The Hu, now Lzzy covers without the slightest idea of the other part and talks about the mother. They are those creations that go hand in hand with the feelings.
I'm a big, burly dude and this song brings me to tears every time I hear it. It's so beautiful!
SAME. It's so pure and powerful and full of emotion that just punches straight through to the soul.

Yes, I must say that Lizzy has an incredible, powerful voice.
I am the same way. Lzzy's voice is perfect for this song.
It's close your eyes mesmerizing. It's great
I read somewhere that The HU gave Lzzy free rein to write any lyrics and any melody she saw fit to lay over the top of the original score. That’s trust and credit to her vocals and writing.
Indeed. And true collaboration.
She nailed it.
Actually they sent her an English translation to the song (they had already written the whole thing), and asked her to add some English lines to it along the theme of what they had written, and were moved by the power of what she had written.
They also explained their cultures thoughts towards women to guide her.

The palm tree grows and flowers
As she sings softly my soul retains
My wife, an honorable lady
Compassionate and delicate

Her fondness melts me languidly
The birds sing and tweet in the eternal blue sky
They are happy and joyful in their souls
Every heart beats a woman’s song
Every heart beats a woman’s song
Every heart beats a woman’s song
Every heart beats a woman’s song

With the precious words of your forefathers
With the milk blessed road (life journey) of your mother, the true path
With the power of love for your homeland
Have a fighter spirit in you, be steady
As if you were a blade of a sword

Thx!

It is said that the Argalkhan mountains are covered with holes
It seems that those who are close to him will be moved
Birds chirped in the eternal blue sky
It is said that you will have fun in your heart
Yes
[Lzzy Hale]
Every heart beats a woman’s song
Every heart beats a woman’s song
Every heart beats a woman’s song
Every heart beats a woman’s song
Every heart beats a woman’s song
Every heart beats a woman’s song
Every heart beats a woman’s song
Every heart beats a woman’s song

Song of Women
[The HU]
It is said that a coconut tree grows flowers
It was heartbreaking to sing softly
Honorable lady
Compassionate
[Lzzy Hale]
I am bones and I am skin
I am home, where life begins
I’ve started wars, I’ve given peace
Across the ocean, I carry the seed
I’m your lover
I’m your mother
I’m your sister
I’m your daughter
When Kings fall to their knees
They sing a woman’s song
When birds scream in the trees
They sing a woman’s song
The sunrise in the east
Sings a woman’s song
Every heart that beats
Sings a woman’s song
I am fire
I am water
I am empress
I am thunder
I am flower
I am wonder
I’m the object
Of your desire
I am beauty
I am grace
I am faith
[The HU]
Birds chirped in the eternal blue sky
It is said that you will have fun in your heart
(I'm faith)
Honorable lady
Compassionate
[Lzzy Hale]
When Kings fall to their knees
They sing a woman’s song
When birds scream in the trees
They sing a woman’s song
The sunrise in the east
Sings a woman’s song
Every heart that beats
Sings a woman’s song
[The HU]
It is said that the Argalkhan mountains are covered with holes
It seems that those who are close to him will be moved
Birds chirped in the eternal blue sky
It is said that you will have fun in your heart
Yes
[Lzzy Hale]
Every heart beats a woman’s song
Every heart beats a woman’s song
Every heart beats a woman’s song
Every heart beats a woman’s song
Every heart beats a woman’s song
Every heart beats a woman’s song
Every heart beats a woman’s song
Every heart beats a woman’s song

I cry almost every time too.
So this is throat singing, always wondered...sounds amazing
You have to check this one out... Weird as hell, but very cool...

There’s a lot of different styles, some sound almost like whistling. It’s a pretty diverse and amazingly cool sounding group of styles.
The Hu " SONG OF WOMAN " (original lyrics}
The palm tree grows and flowers
As she sings softly my soul retains
Honorable lady
Compassionate and delicate
The Argali springs and flies in the mountains
Her fondness melts me languidly
Honorable lady
Compassionate and lovely
The birds sing and tweet in the blue sky
They are happy and joyful in their souls
Honorable lady
Compassionate and mesmerizing
With the precious words of your forefathers
With the milk blessed road of your mother's, the true path
With…
You can do another reaction just with your pure emotion as you think through all the women who have impacted your life. I get a lot of emotion when I listen to this song.
_’A Cuddle of Sound..’_
😊❤️
*I’m stealing that just so y’know...!*
An ode to real women created by real men with Lizzy Hale's input. Real people
Beth keep Roaring..I don't have anything else to say save for...Fathers Mothers,Brothers and Sisters,Cousins and Aunts.. We are all connected..Time is relative to the OBSERVER....STAY YOU!!..💗
Love your reactions ❤️
Yet another reaction video that while enthusiastic about the sound, beat, rhythm, vocals, etc, ignores the visuals. It's a great song and video, on audio AND visual levels. Each band member has a moment where they honor their mothers. Makes me cry a little every time I see it. Every. Heart. That. Beats. Sings. A. Woman's. Song.
I need a Beth in my life
You need to check out Break In - Lzzy Hale and Amy Lee (quarantine recording) if you haven’t already
The whistling at the end is another form of Mongolian throat singing.
Thank you for your reaction. FYI that the English CC caption track seems to be from a different video, referencing a different song (?!?)
If you want a Christmas song. Pieni Rumpali Tony Kakko. Sung in Finnish and its beautiful.
The hu Sad but true reaction.
I started following you because you were reacting to many bands I like, now it's as much for the info you bestow on how they do what they do
Thank you!
the whistle heard in the background at the end of the song is actually part of the throat singing technique.

Thanks for translation!
got to give a shout out to Tengger Cavalry another great Mongolian metal band
"I wish i knew what they were singing." Beth.... turn on your youtube closed captions... they made sure their songs are contextually translated into english for captions
None of the collaborations are as good as the originals. I realize they are doing the right thing for business and spreading popularity by doing so, but it’s outstanding on it’s own. Doesn’t need anything or anyone else.
This collab is amazing thou, makes me tear up with feelings so raw
🎻woooow!!
Guess you've discovered Anna-Maria Hefele? If not, just google "overtone singing" and she'll show up immediately
That was who I thought of as well.
You should check out The Pretty Reckless’s song “25” they just did an unplugged version and put it up on their TH-cam the other day. Keep in mind, that’s Cindy Loo Hoo singing
There are video's on youtube with subtitles to know what they are singing in mongolian
Lzzy Hale has always been a good singer, but I think her quality has improved a bit. Its a neat song regardless.
Would love to see your reaction to Nanowar Of Steel (I'd recommend Uranus for the laugh, but any would be good!)
Zora of Blackbriar is a new band
There is no one on a planet more hunting and beautiful vocals.
I suggest Beautiful delirium
Ooh I agree Zora from Blackbriar has such a beautiful voice
Your beautiful Beth!
The scoops you stop at 11:00 to point out, best I can tell, are a quick push of the tongue toward the roof of the mouth and back down. The pitch being sung doesn't change, but the suddenly narrower space calls up short flashes of the higher overtones.
Try to find a female Tuvenian group named TYVA KYZY. They can sing the Syergytt as well as the Höömaeiie, as the Growling song style is known locally.
You need to check out Evoir Palsdottir, her song trollabundin. Shes a farose fold popish singer.
"As if she kind of arose from the sound that they were making..." indeed. They sound like the Earth. But she sounds like the chain of all mothers back to the origin of life. All beings who gave birth to other beings.
Women can throat sing! I've seen several do it!
Tanya Tagaq is one of them! Check her out! She does amazing things with her voice!
You are as much fun to watch as the video which was good
Beth😍😍😍😍
Can't imagine better singer than Lzzy for this song.
We need to see Morissette do OH Holy Night
Would absolutely love to see your reaction to Goira - Global warming (live in the studio)
Check garden of earthly delight- apocalypse orchestra
You should do Wolf Totem with Jacoby Shaddix
He made it all about him. The original is superior.
Esa técnica vocal la utiliza también Dimash!!uuooohwawawa!! Muy Kazajo!!👍👍
Mongolia has women who do throat singing also it is not a just men thing only at all.
