Everyone says the intro is primal and tribal and almost hypnotic, but nobody has mentioned that it is the double beat of a heart at rest - it's the sound that a baby in the womb will hear when their mother is calm and happy and they are safe. That rhythm calls to us in such a primal way because we all instinctively remember it. As you said "the connection to Gaia" is literally exactly that: her heartbeat that nurtures and sustains life - the gift of a woman.
This was a special thing to honor women and it has their mothers for Mother' s day and their culture honors women she wrote her own parts and they sent English translations of the song and gave her an idea of what they wanted and were delighted with how she made her parts so meaningful lyrically and accomplished what they were looking for in doing it.
Hey Ken, Just a little fyi kind of deal, The HU actually asked Lzzy to write all of the English lyrics herself, based on their lyrics for the original version. Which was more based around the idea of a man missing his wife while away from home.
The Hu are every bit as good and powerful live as they are recorded. Not many bands cow can say that. I've seen them five times and each one was an awesome performance. They put their all into their live performances.
Ken, I enjoyed your reaction very much. I think you do perhaps understand what I- as a mother, sister, daughter, lover- understand: This song is a tribute. It is a prayer. It is a thank you. It is a gift. I'm incredibly happy that so many people appreciate the depth and significance of not only the HU in what they do musically and culturally, but what their music brings out in all of us.
they actually asked her to write the english lyrics for her part for this song. you should hear some of her other vocals. there's unbelievable power in her voice.
The photos are of them and their mothers........ Izzy said that she really enjoyed doing this with them....... I think the lines she wrote are wonderful
Lyrics with translation: The palm tree grows and flowers As she sings softly my soul retains My wife, an honorable lady Compassionate and delicate I am bones and I am skin I am home, where life begins I’ve started wars, I’ve given peace Across the ocean, I carry the seed I’m your lover I’m your mother I’m your sister I’m your daughter When Kings fall to their knees They sing a woman’s song When birds scream in the trees They sing a woman’s song The sunrise in the east Sings a woman’s song Every heart that beats Sings a woman’s song I am fire I am water I am empress I am thunder I am flower I am wonder I’m the object Of your desire I am beauty I am grace I am faith... This verse is only in the original and not in this collab: (The Argali (big horn sheep) springs and flies in the mountains Her fondness melts me languidly My wife, an honorable lady Compassionate and lovely) The birds sing and tweet in the eternal blue sky They are happy and joyful in their souls I am faith My wife, an honorable lady Compassionate and mesmerizing When Kings fall to their knees They sing a woman’s song When birds scream in the trees They sing a woman’s song The sunrise in the east Sings a woman’s song Every heart that beats Sings a woman’s song This verse is only in the original and not in this collab: (The palm tree grows and flowers As she sings softly my soul retains ) The Argali (big horn sheep) springs and flies in the mountains Her fondness melts me languidly The birds sing and tweet in the eternal blue sky They are happy and joyful in their souls Every heart beats a woman’s song Every heart beats a woman’s song Every heart beats a woman’s song Every heart beats a woman’s song This verse is only in the original and not in this collab: (With the precious words of your forefathers With the milk blessed road (life journey) of your mother, the true path With the power of love for your homeland Have a fighter spirit in you, be steady As if you were a blade of a sword As if you were a point of an arrow ready to shoot, spring and fly, ride and rise)
Both of these artists are extremely talented and the collaboration between them on " The song of Woman", is phenomenal, very rarely do you hear the different genre of sounds come together in such surreal sounds and such profound lyrics that is beautiful and impactful.
"More connected to Gaia." I'm all for that, while the trend till now, for a long time, has been largely in the opposite direction. Thanks for noticing and commenting on that aspect of the music.
This is my favorite The Hu song. It gives me chills every time. Then Lizzy collaborated and it made it so much more powerful and full of emotion. Lizzy not only writes and sings but plays guitar. Definitely listen to Halestorm. Lizzy is beyond talented and the band amazing. My 10 year old daughter looks up to her and I'm ok with that. There aren't many popular musicians I would be 100% comfortable with my 10 year looking up to. I've taken her to a concert and Lizzy made a point of connecting with not only my daughter but other young kids.
If you've never heard of her you should check out Halestorm, maybe, I miss the misery, Amen, Mayham, or I am the fire. She can belt it. You should also check out her collab with Lindsey Sterling where she did the vocals for Shatter Me.
Just beautiful & very moving, as is the case with The Hu. Combining the female vocals created a masterpiece. Thanks so much for this reaction. Please react to UtA's Official video of "Faster Than Light". Truly a gem.
FYI: Rammstein's singer Till Lindemann & the Violinist David Garrett are releasing a new song(and music video) this Friday, a cover of a Song from the 1920's called "Alle Tage ist kein Sonntag". I could imagine this having similar vibes as the Mein Herz Brennt Piano version, in terms of Till's singing. Would be cool if you could react to it.
From the interviews I have watched, The Hi approached several western artists, including Lizzy. They asked each artist to take a specific song The Hu had already released and write lyrics over it using their voices as part of the instrumentation. They also gave the artists a thumbnail explanation of the songs theme. Once the lyrics were written The Hu's production team worked with the various artists production to put them together
Lzzy has been called the next Joan Jett, and in my opinion she has earned that title 500 times over. You as a voice teacher NEED to experience her full vocal range. Remember that first time hearing "Hevy Devy" Townsend? Yeah. It's like that. Recommended Halestorm songs: 1. Love Bites (But So Do I) 2. I Am The Fire 3. Shoot To Thrill (AC/DC cover) 4. Viscous
I've watched many reactions to this video (including musicians and voice teachers) and you are the only one to catch the change in time signature, Congratulations!
i saw them in september 2021 when they opened for halestorm. i went to see the hu and was excited to stay to watch lzzy and her band. they sound the same live, amazing. the energy they brought to the stage was incredible
This song is the best of 2020. Nothing has come close though The Hu made it close with "Sad but True" and Floor Jansen new solos are in any such top tracks list.
I love this song, I get chills and tears each time ❤️ Dirty Loops, "Breakdown" You will not regret it! I found this band 3 days ago, I haven't been bæable to stop listening to them, and one hell of a voice on the singer!
It's a beautiful song about women, without any whiff of ideology or divisive politicking. That, in the modern age, is a great achievement. There are no sharps or flats, simply a natural run of notes within the octave. If anyone has a piano or keyboard spare, have a go at playing it.
1 minute in and I have to say your a favorite reaction person to watch. You have to do yourself a favor and check out Halestorm one of the best live acts I've seen and lzzy's vocals are amazing Keep up the great content
You seem like a fellow not often lost for words, though I’ve seen a couple of your videos where songs put you in that dumbfounded space. I feel like this journey into deeper cuts of music is as much a learning experience for you as it is for us. This is a profound song and I’m glad you felt it.
Halestorm is a powerful band and amazing live. I met them right after they dropped their first CD and have become their friend. I've seen them live almost 40 times & I'm blown away and I'm a guitar player and been gigging since 1980. They play without backing tracks they sing & play their instruments. Plus they won a Grammy for a song on their sophomore album. Check them out live, they are all over TH-cam
Truth is The HU sent Lizzy the track and told her to rewrite it in English, she rewrite it and sent it back to HU ans they looked at it and the rest is history, she did a great job wow I'm impressed 👏 thank you for all you do. 😊
A few months ago I tweeted about this video and Lzzy actually responded! (OMG!) She said it took her 3 days to write the lyrics and she thanked the Hu band for the opportunity to record it. I read about a week ago that The HU actually contacted her, rather than the reverse.... So, they were already a fan of her/Halestorm? Oh yeah!
PLEASE do a reaction to Halestorm. I HIGHLY recommend the "In the Live Room" version of "Love Bites" Oh also "I'm Not an Angel/Familiar Taste of Poison" from their Live performance in Philly from 2010. It really showcases her amazing voice. Halestorm is also FANTASTIC live, I almost caught her bracelet when I saw them.
Go, check out the original lyrics to this song as written by the band. This will give you a real taste of how the band originally meant the song to be, as per their culture. It's absolutely beautiful. There's a TH-cam video, with translation. As an aftertone, Lzzy did a fantastic "re-lyric" of the song (as the lyricist, not just the singer) to recreate the original emotion to english speaking people.
Lzzy is a once in a generation vocalist with her natural rasp and growl and power, makes her very unique that everyone can enjoy - though sadly underappreciated for what she deserves, imo.
I love you ‘Reaction’ to this song band and singers!! For... to My unschooled ear it’s just outstanding !!! Ken and thank you for bringing attention to the essential of elements to the restoration of Humanity
The Hu have another excellent collaboration where they remade their song "Wolf Totem" with Jacoby Shaddix of Papa Roach. It's a whole new take on the song and would love to see your reaction to it.
If you like the lyrics - she wrote them!! If you look up the making of this video - Lzzy was approached to take their already written and produced song and help them release it for English audiences, she wrote her overlaying lyrics and melody! I would love to see you react to more of Halestorms songs!
Lzzy Hale is my favorite female vocalist! So inspiring. She has so much power and emotion and just pure passion behind everything she sings! I hope you checked out Halestorm after this! Loved watching your reaction. She's amazing! Awesome collab!
I discovered Lzzy Hale on her collab with Lindsey Stirling singing Shatter Me, and immediately fell in love with her voice. It has so much power and energy, but it's never out of control. If you haven't seen it yet, have to recommend you react to Shatter Me.
You had me at “holy shift key”. 😂 Lzzy Hale is a beast! I just love her. Her collab with Lindsey Stirling doing “Shatter Me” is breathtaking. Loooooove the video.
Quick fact: Lzzy started the band with her brother, Arejay( RJ), and their dad when she was 14. Their dad later became their manager, but Arejay is still the drummer. The lyrics that Lzzy was singing in this song was of her own composition. This is a dangerous song. Every time I hear it, I want to hear it 20 more times, haha.
I've literally listened to it like 7 times through today while doing homework. I can't get enough
I can’t believe you’ve never heard or Lzzy Hale! You MUST do a reaction to Halestorm and experience her powerful voice!!
I 2nd that motion!!
Exactly right!!!
I was thinking the same thing!!!!!
YES
Why is that shocking? He clearly wasn’t a metal head before this channel.
Such a poweful statement of what is a woman. Bless you and thank you Hu and Lizzie Hale
This was a special thing to honor women and it has their mothers for Mother' s day and their culture honors women she wrote her own parts and they sent English translations of the song and gave her an idea of what they wanted and were delighted with how she made her parts so meaningful lyrically and accomplished what they were looking for in doing it.
Punctuation, dude...it's a thing, that exists.
This song is so beutiful. Goosebumps every bloody time.
Same here! you should check out her cover of Black Crows, she talks to angles core deffo gives you goosebumps!
I LOVE both The Hu and Halestorm, so this was my dream song . I LOVE Mongolian throat singing, it's so relaxing.
She is definitely a great choice to sing with this band. Such a great blend.
This song to me is primal. It feels like she is connecting every woman throughout history together into one driving force. Lzzy NEVER disappoints.
A new tradition! This song, every mother's day from now on! Primal mystical beauty! The female form divine!
This is the coolest awesomest band on the planet and they keep getting better over time and if you ever get a chance to see them live take it.
One of the most powerful collaborations I’ve ever heard. Lzzy Hale’s voice is the only that could match the primal sound of The Hu.

Two of my favorite artists together. Just amazing!
Tears. Every time I hear this song..
This song always seems to summon the onion-cutting ninjas when I play it. So powerful and beautiful.
Love both The Hu and Lzzy.
LOL Yes. Damn those onions.... 😊
Onion cutting ninjas.. 😂 I agree. They visit me too, every single time. 😢
I heard that Lzzy had to learn some of Mongolian throat singing elements in order to create that unique voice. Love her so much ❤️

Lyrics with translation:
The palm tree grows and flowers
As she sings softly my soul retains
My wife, an honorable lady
Compassionate and delicate
I am bones and I am skin
I am home, where life begins
I’ve started wars, I’ve given peace
Across the ocean, I carry the seed
I’m your lover
I’m your mother
I’m your sister
I’m your daughter
When Kings fall to their knees
They sing a woman’s song
When birds scream in the trees
They sing a woman’s song
The sunrise in the east
Sings a woman’s song
Every heart that beats
Sings a woman’s song
I am fire
I am water
I am empress
I am thunder
I am flower
I am wonder
I’m the object
Of your desire
I am beauty
I am grace
I am faith...
This verse is only in the original and not in this collab:
(The Argali (big horn sheep) springs and flies in the mountains
Her fondness melts me languidly
My wife, an honorable lady
Compassionate and lovely)
The birds sing and tweet in the eternal blue sky
They are happy and joyful in their souls
I am faith
My wife, an honorable lady
Compassionate and mesmerizing
When Kings fall to their knees
They sing a woman’s song
When birds scream in the trees
They sing a woman’s song
The sunrise in the east
Sings a woman’s song
Every heart that beats
Sings a woman’s song

Every heart beats a woman’s song

(With the precious words of your forefathers
With the milk blessed road (life journey) of your mother, the true path
With the power of love for your homeland
Have a fighter spirit in you, be steady

As if you were a point of an arrow ready to shoot, spring and fly, ride and rise)
Hey @Tumen Mr - Thanks for these lyrics and translation!
tnx for translation
Mirroring others that you need to hear and react to more of Lzzy and her band Halestorm, absolutely amazing.
YAAAAS You must experience the sheer awesomeness that is Lzzy' vocal abilities 😍
This song has always given me chills.

The whole song is very hypnotic. Amazing collaboration👏🏻

Lzzy took the "i" right out of her name.
That says it all.
cause lizzy bring us to meaning
Epic!!! A big HU from Brazil!!!!
If you've never heard of her you should check out Halestorm, maybe, I miss the misery, Amen, Mayham, or I am the fire. She can belt it. You should also check out her collab with Lindsey Sterling where she did the vocals for Shatter Me.
Love Bites should be included
I AGREE!! All great song along with taste of poison!
OH MY WORD!! ! Love Lzzy and never knew the Hu but this is fantastic! I am hooked on them now!
Just beautiful & very moving, as is the case with The Hu. Combining the female vocals created a masterpiece. Thanks so much for this reaction.
Please react to UtA's Official video of "Faster Than Light". Truly a gem.
They are both of the Metal community. They know each other's work.
Everytime when I listen to this song, I cry...so powerful...
I love this song! She's great, The Hu's terrific. What's not to like? Glad you enjoyed it!
Wow Thanks Ken!
This is the most beautiful, powerful song!

Hey thanks for the heads up, I will add that to the list!
How can you not just Love Lzzy
Lzzy has been called the next Joan Jett, and in my opinion she has earned that title 500 times over. You as a voice teacher NEED to experience her full vocal range. Remember that first time hearing "Hevy Devy" Townsend?
Yeah. It's like that.
Recommended Halestorm songs:
1. Love Bites (But So Do I)
2. I Am The Fire
3. Shoot To Thrill (AC/DC cover)
4. Viscous
The lyrics are amazing,...the whole package is just sooo well done!!
It's crazy that you don't know Lizzy, she's been a power voice in the rock world for a long time and keeps getting stronger!
There are some of The HU's collaborations with western artists on TH-cam, from a live concert.
Wow! Amazing~ Thank you for sharing 👍👍👍👍👏👏👏👏
I've watched many reactions to this video (including musicians and voice teachers) and you are the only one to catch the change in time signature, Congratulations!

This song is the best of 2020.
Nothing has come close though The Hu made it close with "Sad but True" and Floor Jansen new solos are in any such top tracks list.
Great reaction video! I believe for this song Lizzy learned some Mongolian traditional singing techniques.
Thanks for a great content! ❤️
Definitely need to check out more of Lzzy. She has, in my opinion, one of the most powerful voices in Rock today.
Her and Maria Brink from In This Moment!! My two favourite powerhouse female rock vocalists!!
Just found you on a news feed for local newspapers. Glad to have learned a little a bout singing. More than school told us anyways :) thank you!
Just it is amazing!
I love this song, I get chills and tears each time ❤️
Dirty Loops, "Breakdown"
You will not regret it!
I found this band 3 days ago, I haven't been bæable to stop listening to them, and one hell of a voice on the singer!
I will check it out for sure, Thanks for the comment!
We need more traditional instruments/singing in metal. So far, every instance of such a combination that I've heard is fire.
LZZY speaks for the women. Her voice is just AMAZING!
Those big drums are a mother's heartbeat. Primal
Lzzy Hale is a vocal beast! Check out Eric Church featuring Lzzy Hale live. She steals the show
Agreed - and I will check that out!
Seconded!
Contrast. This team up is just WOW. Absolutely spine-tingling.
It's a beautiful song about women, without any whiff of ideology or divisive politicking. That, in the modern age, is a great achievement. It's almost tapping into the spiritual essence of what it is to be a women, something timeless that every person man or woman can relate to. Great song.
Also, I'm a sucker for the Mixolydian mode, it always lends an earthy spiritual vibe to a song. For those who are wondering, the Mixolydian mode is an ancient scale of notes often used in church music. It starts on the G and ends at the G an octave above. There are no sharps or flats, simply a natural run of notes within the octave. If anyone has a piano or keyboard spare, have a go at playing it.
thank you for professional reaction
1 minute in and I have to say your a favorite reaction person to watch. You have to do yourself a favor and check out Halestorm one of the best live acts I've seen and lzzy's vocals are amazing
Keep up the great content
Thanks kyle! I am planning to react another Lzzy Hale tune soon, her performance her was electrifying.
I love this song. I listen to it every day.
Lzzy wrote the lyrics to this song in collaboration with The HU. She has the most incredible voice in rock and roll.
The opening drum beat is a heart beat. Took me listening a few time before I picked up on that. Incredible song.
Those big drums represent the heartbeat.
This song is just so quintessentially human. Like i feel connected to my humanity and so full of reverence for the women in my life.
React to the hu - sugaan essena from starwars game ost
Yes!!!! Please!!!! And Congrass for this reaction!!!
Truth is The HU sent Lizzy the track and told her to rewrite it in English, she rewrite it and sent it back to HU ans they looked at it and the rest is history, she did a great job wow I'm impressed 👏 thank you for all you do. 😊
Definalty their best collaboration yet !!!...Lzzy gets better and better....
I HIGHLY recommend the "In the Live Room" version of "Love Bites"
Oh also "I'm Not an Angel/Familiar Taste of Poison" from their Live performance in Philly from 2010.
It really showcases her amazing voice.
Halestorm is also FANTASTIC live, I almost caught her bracelet when I saw them.
This is an amazing colab, gives me shivers.
There really are no words for these words. ❤
I love your reaction and enthusiasm to this amazing song.
You should do Shatter Me by Lindsey Stirling featuring Lzzy Hale. Really shows her power behind her voice
Go, check out the original lyrics to this song as written by the band. This will give you a real taste of how the band originally meant the song to be, as per their culture. It's absolutely beautiful. There's a TH-cam video, with translation. Dude, seeing someone discover Lzzy Hale is pure joy to me. Check out her band Halestorm and their song I Am The Fire for some POWERFUL vocals
Nice to hear a musicians reaction…thanks for sharing 👍✨
Lzzy is a once in a generation vocalist with her natural rasp and growl and power, makes her very unique that everyone can enjoy - though sadly underappreciated for what she deserves, imo.
If you want to see the true power of her voice, watch “That’s Damn Rock n’ Roll” with Eric Church live from the CMT Awards.
I love you ‘Reaction’ to this song band and singers!!
For... to My unschooled ear it’s just outstanding !!! Ken and thank you for bringing attention to the essential of elements to the restoration of Humanity
Exactly! Incredible!
The Hu have another excellent collaboration where they remade their song "Wolf Totem" with Jacoby Shaddix of Papa Roach. It's a whole new take on the song and would love to see your reaction to it.
"If you want to bring the evil we can bury you today"... love that line!
I second this motion
If you like the lyrics - she wrote them!! If you look up the making of this video - Lzzy was approached to take their already written and produced song and help them release it for English audiences, she wrote her overlaying lyrics and melody!

omg! How can you not have heard of Lzzy Hale?!? Halestorm has some of the best damn female vocals you could hope for!
Wonderful!
I discovered Lzzy Hale on her collab with Lindsey Stirling singing Shatter Me, and immediately fell in love with her voice. It has so much power and energy, but it's never out of control. If you haven't seen it yet, have to recommend you react to Shatter Me.
Love this - love this song.
Lzzy is amazing!!
I really enjoyed your reaction. I wish you all the best and success in growing your channel
You had me at “holy shift key”. 😂 Lzzy Hale is a beast! I just love her. Her collab with Lindsey Stirling doing “Shatter Me” is breathtaking. Loooooove the video.

Lzzy Hale is rumoured to be Floor Jansen's favourite vocalist.
And now you can see why. I can't wait to see Floor work with The Hu.
I recommend "shatter me" by lindsey Stirling feat. Lzzy Hale. Very nice too.
