As a mother, every day my daughters went to school was a day of fear. I prayed each day that they would be OK, that their school would remain a safe haven of learning and life. I got lucky, my daily prayers were answered and my kids got through their entire "school lives" unscathed, but there are so many who weren't that lucky and I pray for them every day too. Gods bless all of them.

Brooke - what you did is so important. Please keep doing everything you do with the passion that you do it with. I don’t watch a lot of tv at all... but if you walk into my house the tv is always on and it’s always CNN. I so admire you and when I hear you’re segment on I always try to catch what I can.... really there are four of you that reach me in a way unlike any other... you, Chris, Don and Anderson. Each of you share something in common about what you do that is SO important. Although you are up there every day and we get to know who you are and small parts of your personality and lives... each of you do not make your segment about yourselves and who you are and what you want to talk about. Of course your personalities shine through and but what makes you great, what makes you truly great is that you are the voice of other people... people who for some reason or another whether good or bad, need someone to be their voice. And you should be proud of what you do - because you are the voice of those who need to be heard. Thank you. And thank you to You, Don, Chris and Anderson for being someone else’s voice when it’s so easy to get caught up trying to be your own, as so many others do.

She is still there for her family. Just because someone has passed away doesn't mean it's the end. I know it's very heartbreaking to lose anyone. But we have to remember the good things about them to keep them alive through us in our hearts. I send lots of love and strength to all of the families that were effected. May they use their pain as a strength for their lost loved ones.

Also can we all take a minute to appreciate someone else who passed away called Nicholas. He passed during the shooting but he also saved lives after he passed. Sean Milko Miami local here. South Miami (anywhere near Downtown/South Beach) can be pretty unsafe at night. Anywhere else in Florida should be fine though, maybe do some research on Broward county. I’d be careful in Miami-Dade area

I got teary at “Alyssa! You jumped off a bridge?” Don’t know why that hit me the most, even more than her team turning her 8 into infinity. She’s gone but still scolding her kid. That’s extra heartbreaking.
It really hurts hearing this, she didn't deserve this and neither did her daughter, a mothers love is strong for her children, it really broke my heart at the little part when she found out that she jumped off a bridge while at the beach, a mom can stay mad but not for long, hearing that letter you can really tell that she was crying while writing the letter for her.

As a mother, every day my daughters went to school was a day of fear. I prayed each day that they would be OK, that their school would remain a safe haven of learning and life. I got lucky, my daily prayers were answered and my kids got through their entire "school lives" unscathed, but there are so many who weren't that lucky and I pray for them every day too. Gods bless all of them.
Nothing feels worse to a parent to lose their child or an older sibling to lose their younger sibling.
