Wanted to say thanks for this great project! Curious if anyone else has the issue where in Daytona 2 the brake and gas seem to be swapped? When I set them correctly in the ini they work for car/track selection but then in race my gas brakes and brake is gas. Swapping in ini does the trick to play, just have to select car/track with brake instead
Wanted to reply to myself incase anyone else experiences the issue, I had to adjust the pedal and brake to be AXIS_NEG instead of the AXIS_POS that they were in the config file, this was for a Thrustmaster T150
Thanks as usual for this...great work! So, I used one of your older tutorials and got this up and running on my PC (mostly)...I didn't customize the INI 100% like I wanted but close. This time I copied your latest INI file to my PC and new steamdeck. I'm starting with Daytona 2. On the PC the gas and brake work expected, gas is R2 and brake is L2 BUT on the steamdeck the gas is down on the right analog stick and brake is up. Any idea how to update the INI to correct this? This is the current mapping: ; Pedals InputAccelerator = "JOY1_RYAXIS_POS" InputBrake = "JOY1_RXAXIS_POS"

No joy with the xinput, the embedded controller the rog ally has also doesn't work, windows recognises it as an xbox 360 controller, but neither that or the xbox one controllers work, they will work to navigate windows and play in other apps, it must be a rog ally thing. I've tried desktop mode and disabling the embedded controller but no joy.
I checked ipac out and it looks like they'll have different input id'd to controllers. This is setup for use with analog controllers so racing games wont play with digital inputs. I'm not sure to be honest, it was in a few places but now it's only available on the Supermodel forums, which isn't the easiest to get signed up to. I make it a rule to not provide any software I'm not responsible for.
Sounds like a mouse indexing issue. In the ini file towards the top are per game settings. They'll be an entry [swtrilgy] with some config options under it. Delete the RawInput line from this per game settings and save the ini. This will revert back to dinput for your mouse and should't mess with the mouse indexing. Let me know if this works.

Thanks for the kind words. It doe's seem like Start Wars had some kind of autofire system as your gun can overheat, but no matter how fast I twat the button it never even gets close. I wonder if the OG cab had autofire?
Anyway, you'll need to use some kind of 3rd party software like Joy2Key to apply autofire.
@@warpedpolygonthe original cab is the same as emulated. When holding down the button, you do have rapid fire, but it is slower than triggering the button as fast as you can.
However, I have seen videos where people manage to shoot even faster than that, which makes me wonder if they use some kind of auto fire.
I managed to set up an external auto fire for my mouse but for some reason the game doesn't recognise it and shoots very slowly instead.
Awesome tutorial ty very much.. I have a issue with LA MACHINEGUNS. The cross hair will always move to the right side of screen if I let off the left joystick.
So I can move it where I want but it's like a magnet pulling the cross hair right side.. is there any fix or setting I could change to correct this. Thanks for all the hard work cheers friend
If you have a gamepad connected at the same time as using a lightgun or mouse sometimes you can get clashing inputs. Disconnect the gamepad and see if that works if you do
When i try starting a game, it terminates immediately and nothing happens. I load up the textfile that supermodel creates and at the bottom, it says" [Error] Unable to create OpenGL context: Could not create GL context. " I tried updating my display drivers, but according to Windows, i already have the best drivers for that device. Not sure what to do next. Is there a setting i could try and change, or should i try and install an older version of Supermodel? Im using onboard video Intel Iris Pro Graphics 5200.
Thanks for doing this your a star have you ever got the tri force version of virtua striker 4 working i love that game but can never get it working on anything but a wii on nintendont but would love to play it upscaled
Or have you got a guide to make tri force work ?
Thanks a lot for your work and for sharing this.
I’m trying to get another version of star wars to work but having issues with the controls as I want them the same as ‘swtrilgy’ the Rom I’m using is ‘swtrilgya’ could you do another ini file to include this please or let me know how I can get it working the same please as ‘swtrilgy’
Thanks for any help with this and hope you pick this up 🙏🏻😊
Got a Horri steering wheel (PS4/PS3/PC) version. works on PC, does this work with the super model 3 emulator? I tried, doesn't seem
Any idea where to download individual Supermodel 3 game bezels/overlays? I can't find them anywhere.
You need to use reshade. There's new ones up on LaunchBox
@@warpedpolygon No, I mean where to get individual game bezels like the Bezel Project uses for each of their games. I already know how to use ReShade with Supermodel. There are no Supermodel 3 game bezels in the Launchbox forums.
Didn't some guy upload Model 2 and 3 bezels on the Launchbox forum last week? I seem to remember seeing them. @@loki.odinson

Thanks for letting everyone know. I think a few racing wheel pedal setups need the same thing doing.
This is the current mapping:
; Pedals
InputAccelerator = "JOY1_RYAXIS_POS"
InputBrake = "JOY1_RXAXIS_POS"
Those arent the inputs I have set in the ini. Did you use the correct ini file?
So is it basically impossible to play Star Wars with dpad input? I’m trying to play with my arcade and standard joysticks but even mapped correctly the crosshairs jump to the edge of the screen.
You are correct. It has an analog input system. You can't half push a directional digital input. Digital is on or off, no in-between.
I have problems running scud racer, it has big slowdowns in “indoor” areas, tried to change mhz usage, but it didn’t help. Can you know how to help me with that ?
Try dropping the resolution
@@warpedpolygon tried it, don’t work. I have pretty good pc(latest i7 and 4070 super). So I don’t know what the problem. I tried almost every model 3 and there are problems only in scud race and Ambulance game

Is there a way to setup a "turbo" button aka an autoclicker. Manually clicking over and over is faster than holding it down. So it would be nice to setup some kind of turbo option instead of spamming clicks the entire game. I tried using Logitech Hub to do this, but SuperModel3 seems to ignore it and take the raw clicks instead.
There's nothing native to the emulator that does this. And as you say, 3rd party apps may be ignored by Supermodel. Consider it training
For others who come across this, I got around the issue by adding a key bind to shoot and adding a macro to my mouse to rapidly click the key instead
After following your setup guide and launching games through the UI Interface - Xbox racing games are soooo smooth. When launching games through Hyperspin/Rocketlauncher I am back to the same rough steering again😭 Command line is launching "supermodel.exe Game.zip" without problems. They are all set to freeplay and Your .ini file is working as well just all your smooth settings don't seem to work without launching through the UI interface. Any ideas and thanks for all your hard work🙂
Just an update. I set your UI emulator to launch the gun games and set up another one for just Xbox games. You gave me such a great head start. Much Appreciated:).
Anybody else having issues mapping gears for the racing games with a Logitech steering wheel? I cant for the life of me seem to map the correct gears where they should be. usually gear 3-4 are around the wrong way. I've manually edited the config file and its still not right no matter what. I'll double check with this guide and the latest supermodel 3 version in case it was a bug..
I'm having trouble getting any controller to work tried different inputs no joy. I'm using this on the rog ally. The xbox 1 controller is connected and I can use it in other apps but when the game boots nothing responds.
Make sure you're using the xinput xml. It's windows based so should work like normal
Are you using launchbox or the ui to run games?
@@warpedpolygon launch box, but ive got it working using the ui and a ps4 controller. The xbox controller won't work in the launchbox menus either. Think it's a rog ally thing.
@@ianjones126 you can check the supermodel.log file and see what's going on
Hello, would you have the emulator for xbox series developer mode? gr
THANKS for tutorial. What if I am using a ipac controller board on a arcade.
I checked ipac out and it looks like they'll have different input id'd to controllers. This is setup for use with analog controllers so racing games wont play with digital inputs. I would configure for arcade sticks but there are a lot of em all with different input solutions and id's. A list could be accumulated over time but it's a lot of work. If you can get me an input list for how all or your inputs appear I could put a config together quick.
@@warpedpolygon Thank you. Will get back to you.
U R AWESOME!
Thanks again for your continued support and kind words on all my videos. I do notice you comment on every video and it's super appreciated.
off: can you make a patch to fix the inverted controls in Luigi mansion 1 in Gamecube/dolphin?
Just make a per game setting and set the controls inverted. Doesn't it have that in the main options of the game?
@@warpedpolygon It's an old game and there's no way to change it in the menu.
If I'm not mistaken, making a No-Invert configuration just for him is useless because this inversion will ruin other movements.
it would only be the aim of the vacuum cleaner that would need to be reversed.
I've looked for it and at least I've never seen a patch [maybe it comes with a first person view mod, but there's no patch with the standard 3rd person camera]

I'm too lazy bro, just send me the hard drive and take my money.
Haha could you imagine....the money I'd make lol
I'm just curious, why is the UI so hard to find and how come you don't just provide a download for it since you have it. Like what's the history behind that UI? Does it contain copywrited code or something like that? Again, just curious and not me trying to get it out of you or anything like that.
I'm not sure to be honest, it was in a few places but now it's only available on the Supermodel forums, which isn't the easiest to get signed up to.
I make it a rule to not provide any software I'm not responsible for.
Ok, I can't for the life of me figure out how to get my mouse working as a lightgun. Star wars trilogy none of the buttons work.
Any help appreciated
Sounds like a mouse indexing issue. In the ini file towards the top are per game settings. They'll be an entry [swtrilgy] with some config options under it. Delete the RawInput line from this per game settings and save the ini. This will revert back to dinput for your mouse and should't mess with the mouse indexing. Let me know if this works.
Worked! My mouse, while a little slow for responsiveness (I think it's just the game) works great. Man I appreciate it. It's nice to play this again.
I can't believe I would spend so many quarters on this back in the day lol
@@matthewmurphy648 awesome. Love these kinda comments. "it works and I'm having an awesome time"
Thanks for all the work you have put into the configs and these videos. Almost everything is working for me, except I have a similar mouse issue.
The mouse works perfect in star wars but doesn’t work at all in the other 3 shooting games (lost world, LA machine guns, ocean hunter). I’ve tried deleting the rawinput line but had no joy. Do you have any other ideas? The joypad works fine in these games by the way.
Hi, I’ve just figured it out. I have one mouse connected and the index for this had no number. I removed the 1 from the mouse inputs in the .ini file and now everything is perfect. Thanks again!
As far as I can tell, the latest daily release of supermodel does not work with LaunchBox and/or your configurations. I had to opt for an earlier release.
Working here with latest version. What is happening when you try to launch?
I have even tried earlier versions of supermodel emulator, but no games will start in launchbox. I have tried this several times and followed your steps word for word. Any ideas ?
Working fine here mate. What's happening when you try to launch?
It briefly shows the emulator dialog screen then that disappears. I can just about make out it says error. This happens with every game
I have tried to set this up many times, but nothing runs.
I have downloaded a version with the gui. When I try to run it, I get a missing .dll file error

is there a way to play this on android phone? works perfectly on my pc...just name of android emulator is enough if someone knows....i even installed retroarch that i'm not using to try finding core for supermodel 3, but it's not there
I don't think this is usable in android unless you emulate Windows/linux. It's probably too demanding that way also.
