    Half the price of the full fledged, trend setting GWN1000 series of Casio Gulfmasters, this alternative is about half its cost. You will miss out on AB functions [compass is included], tough solar, and atomic time keeping but you won't care. With 20 bar waterproofness, this strikingly handsome watch is all G Shock. The Tide function is useful and accurate once calibrated. Graphic elements in both the black and white GN1000s cannot be improved upon. Functions showed. Value is very high at just $180. This GN1000 watch seems like it'd cost $1800 instead. These watches feature a perfect balance of both kinds of cool.
    Nutnfancy Likability Scale: 5 Stars

    My fiancé just bought me one in white and I love it! The most expensive watch I’ve ever owned and the first time that I have “dived’ so deeply into one of your watch reviews. Nice work! TNP forever

    TNPrs have been asking for watch reviews for years. Here they come! I review cool, high value Hall of Famers here; this will be my first. With audience support more will follow, to include some of my favorite Divers. The excellent Casio Gulfmaster GN1000C-8A (tactical black one shown too). Fresh from the Pacific, this will be more of an adventure video than a watch review. These watches are impressive...especially for the money. -nutnfancy

      +ilikewasabe crocs are amazing just social media has made a character to those who wear comfy shoes/sandals it's like they say "beauty is painful" I wear sketchers so that's what I tell every one who asked me why do I wear sketchers instead of nikes

      Crocs are just what works out there: lightweight, don't absorb water, float if overboard, cheap. Love 'em. The Croc example will be used in an upcoming video to show how most guys are brainwashed with delicate egos.

    I love the recent trend of the watch videos! I feel like now that I've got my knife and firearm collections nice and squared away, my focus has switched to watched in the past few months. The watches being present by NF are'nt even close to being a good watch. They're cheap plastic crap and that's it. A real watch is something from IWC, Tag, Rolex, Invicta et.al. Now those are fine time pieces.

    • @mikebot1093
      @mikebot1093 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Casio G-shocks are great watches, even collectors of higher end pieces usually have a G-shock or two in the collection (so even most watch snobs generally respect them!). Also, I'm not sure I would call an Invicta a "fine timepiece" by comparison. I own a couple of Invictas which I enjoy, but as a general rule Casio, Seiko, Citizen, and Orient all make higher quality watches than Invicta. And Tag....well that is a whole other issue.

  • @vengenaceearly255
    @vengenaceearly255 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    Yep that is all numbers of cool.
    If you want to fall down the rabbit hole like I did you can match the exact tide table to your location. Takes a little work. Well worth it. People don't believe in barometer drop for rain. But I use mine. Same with fishing and moon phases. This watch has it all.

  • @brandontrumble7885
    @brandontrumble7885 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    This is one of the best watches (the first one shown). I've been wearing one for a few months now (white one, because its cheaper). Excellent on the water, especially for fishermen. The accuracy for tides is excellent on the Atlantic and Gulf of Mexico coast. Solar power is very nice. Compass is nice in the woods. The ability to adjust the settings to "zero" them is wonderful. I wear it everyday, including in the hospital where it was great for timing IV drips and pulse. I researched the watch when it bought it and have been very happy with it. Color adds extra style to it and fits the nursing world.

      Oh, and you need to review some of the high value, hard hitting Becker knives put out by Kabar!
      The Slicey 5 and 15, the nasty kukri-bk21, the massive bk 20, and their smaller fixed blades! Some of the good guys on Bladeforums turned me on to them. It'd be cool if you'd find the time to review them.
      I'm sure you know at least know someone who could lend you some to review.

    • @nutnfancy

      I think you're bound to connect with at least one of the newer Becker line;
      whether it's the EDCable bk14, 13, or 24,
      The "ideal" tweeners (ideal for light camp duty/food prep/skinning/soldier blade, all the way to the HOF woods blades, the original bk4, 9, 20, and the mighty Reinhardt Kukri (Bk21).
      I've got the 2 (HEAVY chunk) the amazing kitchen/samurai worthy bk5, the 14 (heavy duty fixed EDC), the 15 (the fixed blade that rides in my backpack next to my pf9), the 9, and the versatile bk21 kukri, designed by the late Hank Reinhardt, an edged weapons scholar and blade designer, who probably knew more about kukris than any non-Nepali guy.

    Not much of a watch guy, but you've introduced me to some cool stuff in the past Nutnfancy so I figured i'd give it a shot, and if nothing else it will just be nice to have the sultry sounds of your voice playing in the background while i do stuff around the house. Hahaha! And besides, any new nutnfancy video is mandatory watching material in my opinion. Keep on keepin' on man, i'll keep coming back to watch.

    I like your comment about using gear. I can't seem to part with my 20year old no-brand divewatch, I drowned it twice and always find myself putting in a new battery "for the last time". I do have some nice watches and my wife always complains that I always wear that old one. For diving a Frogman would be cool...having said that, I have a uwatec gallileo and a uwatec tec2g as a back up. D.C.'s go above and beyond any digital watch's features.

    Ive noticed on my Casio with a barometer/altimeter that after a flight it gets confused on the barometric pressure, temperature, and altitude. It uses the first two to calculate the latter, so if you fly a lot, it is something to consider that you will have to reset and punch in new numbers for the three variables so it can become accurate again.

    Hay nutnfancy. Do you have experiences with the classic luminox 300 navy seals series. I was gifted one recently and I’ve been very happy with it, even if I’ll never exploit it’s apparent ruggedness as the most punishment I’ll get are occasional trips to the range. I’ve worn a G-shock but I’m afraid a lot of them just seem too big and bulky for me.

      We sure do appreciate it! I don't even own any watches or live by the sea but totally dig the content and the foundational POU discussions.

    Hey NF and TD. I just got a Mudmaster GWG-1000-1A3ER. What do you think of it? You could review all the Casio master of G range. Land sea and air? Thanks

    let me hit you with a POU question. i have very little need barometric pressure on a watch especially in the age of smart phones but my second cool likes the looks of the full feature model of the gulfmaster over the previous model. Is second cool worth 1.5x as much in your book? i like the black on black version of the newer model for second cool purposes only. what are your thoughts? (the only reason i want this watch is i'm an avid fisherman. while B Pressure is a significant data point as it affects the fish bite and i need the data for logging my fishing trip journal i don't necessarily need it on a watch as i don't typically fish in a place without cell service and the data can be looked up on the phone). But second cool...the black on black is my shit! plus i have an anniversary around the corner which allows for some extra disposable income in the budget...
    any input from the project family is appreciated.

    Did this video have a different title when it was first posted? I thought it mentioned a price in the title.

    I have a question are the glow in the dark hands and hour marks weak I have a Casio divers watch that is very hard to read right after the lights go out and by 0400 it is DOA? I have tried a UV lamp but it's energy just will not help that watch. My edc wear is a Seiko Eco-drive is great, but a word to the wise if you can't wear an Eco-drive edc because you have broken your arm have a watch shop keep it in there winder/turner box The cell will die if you don't keep it charged and that's $100. To fix.

    Don't like the fact that these tide watches don't have the spring and neap heights on the tide display.
