HOW TO SET-UP YOUR CASIO GN-1000 Master of G series GULFMASTER G-SHOCK | MODULE 5442/5443 TUTORIAL

- In this clip I'll be using the gulfmaster g-shock model that had just been released back in July 2016 in Japan to explain all the complications that this has. This would also applied to any GULFMASTER Master Of G from the Twin sensor series as well. The reference number for the model that I'm using in my video is the GN-1000GB-1AJF Twin Sensor GULFMASTER from the Gold and Black series. I also add in an example on how to set up the TIDE GRAPH, resetting the THERMOMETER, and also how to calibrate the COMPASS of this watch.
Spoiler, there are 2 type of compass calibration that this watch could perform which is the BIDIRECTIONAL CALIBRATION and MAGNETIC INCLINATION CORRECTION. I am unable to FULLY perform the first calibration in this clip and I'm still figuring out why. However the seconds type of calibration is a success and I hope you could try to perform it on your watch as well.

i just ordered this watch,yesterday,with blue dial.i cant wait.i have the gg1000 mudmaster,and i love that one.
That blue one really gives out more ocean or boating vibes for sure. I like the tones of royal blue on the bezel ring as well
Just got mine in the mail tonight. havent' fully unboxed it yet. manual is a bit overwhelming and I'm not a stranger to Shocks. I like your color varation, neat. I got the half red / half blue face. spoke to me the most.

I have the black resin blue/red face model with black out LCD and it so damn hard to read the LCD in certain lights, like indoors at night. I calibrated the compass second try, little tip. Lock the clasp with lots of extra strap coming out, Get some sort of object like a small box, in my case my ecig case and rest the watch against it during calibration. When you get "2" flip it while pressing compass and rest it again the opposite way. Worked like a charm. First time I tried holding it like you did, no good.

just got mine today.. felt lazy reading the whole manual (although i should) but i have to wear it like right nw.. thanks for guide.. however i am a sailor. and this magnetic declination always varies for me.. so the best thing is to leave ut at zero do manual calculations.. probably the quad sensor mite be able to do that
+Mohamed Ansar As long as you stay alerted to add the bearing changes each time then its good. I haven't fully explored the quad model yet but it does require ones to enter an exact longitude and latitude data for some functions to operate accurately.

(P.S) I don't have a GN 1000, it worked on my G 9300 Mudman.
Press adjust in thermometer mode until it starts blinking then press upper left & upper right button, both at the same time. That'll do it.

Hi gshock hifashion! Many thanks for very informative video about the GN-1000 G-SHOCK. Just bought one and am based in Cascais, Portugal (30km west of Lisbon) and since we're in the same time zone as London, I've set this as my Home City because it seems that there's no Lisbon (LIS) option... Just wondering how much that will affect the tide readings... I use the tide readings for surfing... Any suggestions?
I would recommend you to actually set the tide graph to the exact beach area tide time as well. Setting the tide just from the home city setting aren't accurate enough especially when you are actually using it for surfing.
everything works fine on mine except one thing the digital seconds are a bit off with the analog seconds around 5 seconds behind, i saw on your version they are sync'ed, any suggestion?
Same here....my seconds on digital are about three seconds faster than hands??
Just hold the adjust button,it beeps and shows,adj ,hold it longer until H.SET shows in screen,then with buttons on the right side of the watch put the second hand on 12 position.to end it press adjust and analog digital is the same..by this watch is that normal and you would have to do it every now and then.

got this gn1000 in blaxk with blue dial.thing is i live in louisiana and theres over 50 location for tides near me,louisnana is surrounded by water,so setting my tide seems impossible, what u think
I would recommend for you to just set to the specific beach area that you always visit only or plan to visit at least. If there are close apart, the tide reading shouldn't varies either. So, you're still good

You need to perform the ‘H.set’ basically hand adjustments. To enter this mode, press ‘adjust’ button at home time keeping for 5 seconds.
H.Set will appear on screen.
Use ‘mode’ button to toggle between each hands.
Use ‘fwd’ or ‘rev’ button to move each hand to 12 o’clock position.
Make sure all hands including the tide display is pointing at 12 index then press adjust once to complete this setting.
All of them will match with the digital time now.

+vijosh vicky You could easily set them off by pressing adjust at that specific alarm. Make sure all of them are OFF. Check the 'SIG'=signal as well. If all buttons are functioning, this issue won't happen at all.

When I press my compass button my tide dial and second have move but are off 15 degrees and point in different ways, any tips?
Second arrow should point to north direction.
Tide arrow will point to a saved direction.
They should point in different ways but you could reset the tide arrow to point in same direction by press & hold 'search' button at compass mode.

I just found out that the clock I had was very sophisticated... thanks dude. Anyway since i replaced the battery, arrow mode (Tide, WT, STW ect) is not correctly show in display, for example when the arrow mode points to AL but it show TIDE on display and so on. What should i do to fix it. Please help
You'll need to perform 'H.Set'.
Hold adjust at home time keeping for 5 seconds or until 'H.Set' appear on screen.
Then the hands will start to move and should stop 12 o'clock index.
Use 'Mode' button to switch hands.
Use upper left & upper right button to move each hands to 12 o'clock position.
All hands suppose to align with 12 o'clock position. When you're done, press adjust once to complete the set-up. Every hands will point to the right direction now.

What I mean is mode function. In normal time mode the small arrow should be point to white spot / compas button. But mine point to TMR. When I press once its point to AL but LED show to TIDE, COMP show to WT, TIDE show to STW. The MODE direction not in right position.

Hello please help me, i recently gave my watch to a shop to change its batteries and now the Mode dial pas is not working accurately. for example if im in compass, its shows im in timer, what can i do ?
You'll need to perform the 'Hand Adjustments'. The watch will align all the hands back into place after that. This is common on every ana-digi G-Shock.

How to set time
Hey there gshock highfashion! I am gshock_life on IG. Quick question! One of my GN1000B seems to have an error. It doesn't match my accurate other GN1000B. The Tide Graph hand is not accurate and the arrow on the features dial doesn't point to the correct feature e.g. in Timer mode the arrow points right, in standard time mode the arrow points to 'TMR' :( Any ideas what the problem is? I have been through the instructions and troubleshooting but no luck.
Of course I remember you. I always liked all the great photo you posted. They are really inspiring to me.
Back to the issue. Usually the ‘hand-adjust’ would just do the trick. Have you tried it yet? Move those dials just so that it would match to where it supposed to.

Hold the adjust buton until it beeps,it takes a 2 or 3 seconds..then the dial is blinking,to set the time zone use the butons on the right side of the watch ,the seconds hand shows you the curent city..also as you move the digital display shows you the time in that city,when you chose the right zone pres adjust to finish it

In this case, you just need to set the home city as closest as possible first. After that change the hour and minute setting to match exactly to where you at. Most G-Shock offers 1 hour time difference for each home city setting. Some G-Shock like GBA-400 or G-350 however offers more accurate home city time setting of 15mins in time different.

2. Make sure every hands including the subdial are pointing to 12'o clock position.
3. Select using 'mode' and move hand using upper right & lower right until all are pointing at 12'o clock.
4. Press adjust to finish.
