Half way through I had to pause and buy the red version, I'm moving from the tactical look myself and the red was just to cool.

Hell yeah the 7900! I bought one of these a few months ago after you started up your watch review vids. Did a ton of research over several weeks, keeping first cool in mind and attempting to avoid features I'd rarely use. I settled on an OD one with yellow accents (7900-3?). You were right, Nutn; it was worth finding one that makes me smile every time I look at it. Glad to see it reach hall of fame status.

I recently got into EDC watches due to your recent videos. Thanks for opening my eyes to G shocks. I've bought three in the past few months, including one for my wife.

My wife got me the rescue red for Christmas, and I love it. fell in love with it from one of your earlier watch vids. It's my go to hunting watch, so comfortable and durable, plus it looks cool. I'll coordinate it with red ties when I work my 9-5 and it looks rad.

Love the GShocks. I just have the cheap Sport version $50 bucks. 6 Years and still going strong. Could you do a review of the Rangeman? I'd like to upgrade

I have the solar atomic moon tide stealth rescue and it has been going strong for 12 years! it's always on my wrist at work and I'm a plumber so it takes a beating. so far only problem is the decorative bolts fell out so I ordered more, took the others out then Krazy glued them back in. No scratches on the glass. the tide is great because I fish in the Hudson River for stripers. The resin is better than the originals because it doesn't rot and crack. Imo best watch for the money. Love you man

How excited was I when I awoke this morning to find you review this watch! Mrs Zukkini observed me viewing your G-SHOCK videos before Christmas and she got me the atomic/solar version in black and I love it. Now as well as "First kinda cool" and "second kinda cool" , It's a "TNP hall of famer" to boot . :)

This is my most used gshock. Got the red "BayWatch" first but was too loud for EDC - so got a blue which is always my main or secondary time keeper.
Have about 10+ digitals and the quartz in these is the most accurate.
That yellow is killer - new to me.
    Thanks for another great review.

Once I went to the atomic function - which these watches don't have - I'll never go back. There is something pretty awesome about having the exactly correct time everyday, without having to reset the watch every week or month. But Nutn I appreciate your passion for watches and for life. It energizes your minions.

countycomm and jaysandkays both make strap adapters that allow one piece band(nato,chums/the band, etc.) use on gshocks. I've had them on my 9052 for years and couldn't imagine it without them

I got one of these several months ago when you started reviewing watches, I needed a good watch to wear for my EMT class. It is a good value watch, I've had it for 3-4 months now, and I agree with what you said, it is a good watch. I got mine in od green (cause I like the color) and I thought it would be nice since I do a lot of camping. The watch is well worth the money.

Nice information Nut, I'd like to see a little bit higher end watch reviews like:
    Garmin Tactix
Garmin Fenix 5 or 5x, 5s for women
Just ideas for in field watches that can be used for long range shooting... Maybe apps, batterie life in cold/hot weather because Iphone wont cut it, it's always a dead batterie in the cold for me.
Keep up the reviews, nice seeing things I wouldn't look at. ;-)

I've had a G-Shock DW-9052 for coming up on 3 years and have worn it everyday; showers, work (fireproofing and roofing), camping, etc. This thing takes quite the beating too. Band shows no signs of abnormal wear. Just a data point.

I used to rave about g-shocks. Thought they were the greatest thing ever. Currently have 3 of them. But based on my experience my tough solar didn't quite live up to its marketed reputation of being indestructible. The replacement battery is nearly as expensive as a whole new watch. Kind of a let down but still think they're cool watches.

Hamilton Khaki King is the ultimate EDC watch in my opinion or a bertucci A-2T. I'm a minimalist and don't like the gigantic bulk of the 7900 series. Though my Hamilton is an automatic, I've never had a problem with it ever from shooting, fishing, backpacking and swimming. Both watches also look ten times better. I do have a 7900, cool watch but the G-Shocks aren't for me. Good video like always.

I don't understand the high cost of these watches. I got a Casio SGW 1000 which basically looks the same but lacks a few features like solar etc. I have found the the altimeter barometer functions to be unusable (note to Casio: if people have to constantly readjust the altimeter and barometer, they will end up just referring to an iPhone app or a website). The compass needs to be declinated to get true north. Not my cup of tea. The only thing that works easily is the stop watch. But as a timepiece, with its uncluttered dial and large numbers, it's pretty GD good and worth the $50 I paid for it. But $250 for a similar watch just for the cool factor? No. Save up for a Rolex.

I get it you are loyal, but this guy doesn't give a shit about you. It's really sad that you blindly follow somebody that couldn't care less about you. Remember, you were the one who decided to comment on what I said, so really you should look in the mirror before you start trying to act all tuff. I'm frankly surprised that they have internet in your trailer park. You can fuck right off back to what ever whole your crawled out of. Thanks in advance.
