    There should be prison sentences handed out for this. Nothing less. You cover up this and poison kids/people for nine months.

      +4tech69 Try 18 months. And this is a crime against humanity, I believe an execution is in order? To drastic? How about sitting around for 18 months waiting for "Democracy" to make a change. It's time to wake up. It's obvious the gov doesn't give one flying FUCK about Flint.
      Stop demanding justice and take it....

      +Nate Hodges Right, here in America, they always do protests and what not. That never does shit at all because the cops just ruin it and you get nothing but more violence from the cops. Fight fire with fire then i guess.

    There is no excuse for this. Michigan has plenty of fresh water sources; it's bordered by most of the Great Lakes. This is what happens when you turn a necessity into a product to be bought like a luxury or a service. You need water.

    • @argon7624
      @argon7624 9 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      While it is true that you are never 7 miles from a fresh water source in Michigan, those water sources are usually small and would not be enough for any town. Have you not seen that there are a lot of cities in the middle of Michigan?

    • @argon7624
      @argon7624 9 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      But I agree that the politicians in office like Rick Snyder are evil. I am a Michigander and I approve of this message.

    • @jeffajones68
      @jeffajones68 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      It wasn't just the salt that caused the problems. it was the fact that they didn't treat the new water before sending it to the residents which caused the pipes to corrode. Most water is treated so this doesn't happen. But they skipped steps and it caused this atrocious crime.

This is a prime example of what happens when people elect a business model into the governorship. You get people who will undermine the people of cities in whichever way possible to save money. They are just being good capitalists, by the way. The social costs are what we are currently seeing. Capitalism has an instinctual resistance towards social ails as Capitalism only cares about making/saving as much money as possible. People in Michigan got what they voted for (or because they didn't come out to vote).

    This kind of thing makes me tear up. Lead is such a horrible thing. It can actually make it hard to focus on tasks and even cause insanity. I really hope those kids turn out okay. And I hope people can show sympathy and love for those who were affected. It’s a scary thing. If any kids in Flint have behavior problems, show understanding for what they may have gone through.

    According to reports, Michigan officials gave the run around and denied any serious problem from the beginning although they were well aware of how bad the problem was. There are criminals in the Michigan government and the people must make sure those criminals are charged with appropriate crimes.

    Why didn't they check the water beforehand? And why haven't they reverted to Detroit's in the meantime?
    Fun fact: In my country(The Netherlands), we get to elect the people who check everything water-related. A Water Board or "Waterschap" in Dutch is a regional government body. They have nothing to do with provinces or cities. Each party says pretty much the same thing and not a lot of people care about the Water Board politics and even the officials of the water boards say there is no need for an election process, as the decisions give very bad consequences if a mistake is made.

      It depends where the lead is, but eventually the body gets rid of it. If you had lead poiseing while you gave birth and put lead in the bones of the baby then in 10 years she had a baby then that could last for 3-4+ generations.

      martind586 Most of the states have a House and a Senate (Nesbraska only has one house) and the laws are usually introduced in the House, are voted on, and are passed to the Senate to be voted on, and if approved, goes to the Governor for a signature. In some cases, laws can be approved introduced through elections where the people vote on questions to become law.

    • @martind586
      @martind586 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      tarqhasahemi Michigan has a republican gov with a republican house and state, they don't produce liberal policies. Snyder put an unelected emergency manager in Flint - He flipped the switch to flint river water. Do you have a brain? Do you not know the story about flint and its water problems? Where is this liberal policy you type about?
