Remember when they claimed "Superman doesn't smile"? When thats the very last thing you see him do before the credits roll. I truly believe that this IS a good superman movie, heck it is the BEST current superman movie and no reboot/remake/retelling is gonna top it. And after the nonsense WB has just done by axing Cavil, no one is going to support them or DC ever again, at least I won't and DCEU fans (how little or big were left) surely won't either. Henry deserves way better and I wish him all the blessings.
Came here to remember the good times and mourn for what could've been

Yes superman was my first Batman was my second then daredevil was my third but daredevil is my favorite Batman is second favorite and my first superhero ever was Superman and he is my third favorite of all time but now thank God at least marvel got daredevil right and then going to continue to do it I think DC is over with James Gunn is he going to fix this I doubt it I seriously doubt it the only way to fix this since they got rid of Henry Cavill now is to start over in about 10 years from Total scratch and nobody is interested in seeing that they f***** up it is over with folks there's no redeem in this now they also had a great idea of doing The flash movie boy what a train wreck that has become they were going to do that movie and have the flash do some time travel shenanigans and have Michael Keaton be the current Batman now going forward that sounded great now we have Ben Affleck back as Batman no Michael Keaton he might be in the mood for a couple seconds whoopty Doo and no Henry Cavill is Superman so you going to recast Superman but not recast Batman and not do any of the cool plans you're going to do from the beginning like so is the crappy version of Justice League the one they're making a part of this timeline now are the extended cool one you know the actual good one that was watchable directed by Zack Snyder like are they not restoring the Zack Snyder universe now are they putting any of that back but if they did that they didn't have to have Henry Cavill as Superman and now they get all this crap problems with asra asre you know the horrible human being that have playing The flash I mean how much crap can go wrong with this superhero lineup of films DC is done the only thing they got right is fixing to come to an end with the flash's final season on TV they ain't got nothing else DC is going to wind up like marvel was in the 90s they're going to have to sell all their properties off to other film companies WB is not going to have to be able to do anything with them anymore soon it's over with folks this is total chaos

3:53 this is one of the best endings of any superhero movie. I love the double meaning. One Lois Lane says welcome to the Planet not only is she welcoming Clark Kent to the Daily Planet but she is also welcoming Superman to earth. Almost like an unofficial Ambassador for Humanity since Superman turned his back on his own misguided people to save everyone on Earth. I think this scene is her way of thanking him. Humanity owes Superman a debt that could never be repaid

The world wasn’t ready for this movie, for Snyder’s grand visions of a DC cinematic universe. With Marvel having done what it set out to do, and retiring from its place as the front runner of the hero genre, I think now is the time we can fully appreciate Snyder’s genius, past, present and (as of me writing this comment) future.
This movie should've buried the MCU back in the day. Sadly most people are non-comic book reading viewers so they'd rather watch lame one liner jokes, mediocre storytelling coupled with saturation god awful CGI, than this masterpiece.
There are some who place this movie above everything marvel has done and I'm glad im one of them.

@@yinyang8259 In 2012 most people had a taste of Whedon's humor in the Avengers, and that colored the entire MCU from then on. And the people wanted the same flavor for DC, they wanted Silver Age cheesiness because it's all they knew from parodies and popcultural references. Hell, we even got the Whedon/Abrams-type "old school nerd critics" whining that Superman without briefs was "sacrilege". Well, in 2017 they got Whedon in DC just like they desired, and everyone had to shut the fuck up and backpedal.
Its a shame due to clueless critics and stupid dumb audiences this universe us not going to continue...

I watch Man Of Steel again to give this movie a second chance. Oh my god, have i been missing on something, Man Of Steel was an awesome DC movie. There's a Superman in ever one of us. It's about being vulnerable, over coming the negative experiences we have along the way all that shape us into what we are. . And still Standing tall standing strong. . I believe it's the best super man on a big screen till date.

I absolutely could not get over how well flight was done in this movie. I mean, look at his take-off here, it was just SO GOOD.
The fact the theme give me chills this film is so underrated can’t wait for the Snyder cut
This to me, will always be the defining soul of Superman to me. His conversation with Swanwick about trust is optimistic and hopeful.
The flashback of Pa Kent seeing his boy playing in the yard and being able to just tell that Pa can already envision all the great things his son will do, the man he’ll become, and Ma knowingly smiling and touching his shoulder is so perfect and beautiful.
And then his monologue as we see him headed into the Planet, his smile and demeanor and Lois’ sly, “Welcome to the planet,” with the movie cutting to the title card on Cavill’s warming and joyful smile… it’s one hell of a way to end the film.
Underneath it all, Zimmer’s score embodies the feelings that come with reminiscing, honoring the memory of those who’ve passed, and then that build to get the heart pumping as the crescendo hits as we cut to black, a soaring, powerful wave of triumph and hope in every instrument, played with it incredible passion to drive it all home.
I like the smile on Lois' face, too. Like she and Clark/Kal-El are in on the coolest secret on the entire planet.....
The ending song hits different when played on full volume.
Zack Snyder this is scene is truly the embodiment of a father looking at his son in proudness. I love how Johnathan looks at Clark and his face says “ My son, my boy, my little...Superman” ❤️

This movie as so many said is so grossly underrated it is just sad. The scene where little Clark is playing superhero while his earthly dad is working on the car, just strikes a cord deep in my core. I have memories like that also. They are so special like from a distant world that is so corrupted now, but back in another time and place these type of 'feels' or moments happened a lot for many of us that grew up in the 50's - 90's. I lost my dad a couple of years ago to cancer and I always tear up during that scene because regardless of what crap we have to deal with there is always hope, we just have to stop what we are doing and look just like Jonathan Kent did even if it is just for a moment!

Man such a beautifully directed movie. Loved it since the first time I watched it and Hans Zimmer’s score is perfect it gives me chills at the end after Clark smiles.

Rewatching this after Batman says to Alfred about Superman " He is more human than I am ", I agree with Bruce. Clark had a better childhood, both the parents to take care of him and nurture and teach him and to believe in him. Finally, a love and a job. None of these Bruce never had.
This underrrated movie is a masterpiece, no matter what people say, thank you guys for insipiring the world.

That is the BEST explanation in over 80 years of Superman for why Clark wanted to be a reporter. They've given similar explanations, like reporters often hear about trouble before even the police, but none as good as this.
I also loved the double meaning behind Lois' greeting, "Welcome to the Planet":

2. "Welcome to the planet Earth." This one is the first time anyone said that to him.

Love Hans Zimmer's music and love "Man of Steel". Grew up reading D.C. comics Batman and Superman comics but "Man of Steel" is, by far, the best Superman movie I have seen. It's my favorite.
