    The symbolism of the final moment on the motorcycle is just so beautiful. Batman is sacrificing everything for Gotham. The police will hate him. The citizens will fear him. Just like the Joker said they’ll treat him like a leper. Yet despite all of that Batman has finally given Gotham the symbol of hope that it needs to fight back against the darkness. With Batman’s goal finally accomplished he ascends into the light.

      @@sagivijayaramaraju1153 Boat scene: since people on both ships don't know that Batman (or anyone else) is coming to stop Joker, there is no way they can save other ship (if you remember Joker's experiment, either they destroy other ship or Joker destroys both). Logically and morally, they should destroy other ship, because there is no way to save other ship (either they destroy it or Joker will). By destroying other ship, at least they are saving everyone on their ship.
      End scene: Is there a real evidence that Harvey Dent/Two-Face killed 5 people? If yes, then Batman's sacrifice is unnecessary. If no, then Batman's sacrifice is, again, unnecessary, because they can just say unknown person killed Dent and 5 other people, since there is no evidence.

    • @laflamablanca-kh4xv
      @laflamablanca-kh4xv ปีที่แล้ว +66

      @@goranmilic442 that’s the whole point of the boat scene. They are tempted with that logic just so that the joker can prove that people will do horrible things when backed into a corner. By having neither boat press the button it showed that the people of Gotham would rather die than knowingly take the lives of the others on the boat, proving the joker wrong. As far Harvey, he had a ton of important legislation tied to his name & if his reputation was ruined, the support & use of that legislation would be discredited, undoing all of the progress Gotham had made. There was enough proof to tie the murders to Harvey considering he had been all over the city and committed a lot of the murders in broad day without trying to hide, & he had living witnesses (Ramirez at the very least, if not more). Not to mention most people would wonder why Gordon & his entire family were at the scene of Harvey’s murder. Batman taking the fall made the most sense because Batman is just a moniker, Bruce still gets off scot free so no actual person is taking the blame for something Harvey did while also protecting the good things that would be undone if the truth came out.

    Every single soul in the cinema I watched this in, was either sniffing or pretending to not cry at this ending. But we all clapped in the end credits. The build-up and Hans Zimmer music as Gordon explains - "People will lose hope!", The dark knight: "No, the Joker cannot win - you either die a hero, or you see yourself become a villain. I killed those people.. I'm whatever Gotham needs me to be! You'll hunt me, condemn me, because sometimes, the truth is not good enough. Sometimes, people deserve to have their faith rewarded" (as Batman runs away so injured, chased by Dogs and the Police). The ultimate sacrifice and the greatest super hero movie of all time. I Love Spiderman, the avengers series and Watchmen... But Nolan's trilogy is till the greatest of all time.

      @@goranmilic442 This is why it is the greatest of superhero movie of all time after Watchmen and Black Panther. Up to now, who really won in the end is up for debate. Joker won in the 2nd movie, Batman recovered and won the trilogy. Thanos also won Avengers Infinity War, then the heroes recovered in the end game. Kilmonger became King, then T'Challa recovered. Not your typical super hero plots where the villains/ anti-heroes are always losing because of plot armor. Also, it is very unclear who is really the "Bad Guys" A lot of people actually like Joker, Thanos and Killmonger and can relate to them better.

      @@silentassassin1399 So you agree with me? If Batman's actions prove Joker's claim, then the whole Batman's journey is pointless. The movie doesn't make sense, since authors' intentions were to make Batman's actions meaningful, which authors failed to show us.
      It is unclear who is the villain? Joker kills hundreds and attempts to kill thousands, Batman saves most of them. There is a debate?
      First you said Dark Knight is best, now you named two better.

      Dent's ideals didn't line up with vigilantes like Batman. Part of the movie's theme was that Batman created people like Joker and the copycats, so in order to end the chaos Joker wrought he had to subvert the idea of Batman himself by taking the fall for Dent's crimes. Hence the line, "either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain". Batman could pin the crimes on some unknown person, but how many more Jokers or vigilantes would pop up? Hans Zimmer is literally a genius. The score for the movie is so damn good 🔥. Better than all of the Batman themes.

    This is the ultimate standard of cinematic art. Hands down the greatest comic book film ever made and one of the top 5 films of all time. No other film will ever be able to reach this standard. Chris Nolan and co set the bar too high. This film changed the definition of superhero genre forever. 👑

    The scene is beyond flawless. Masterstroke of having Gary Oldman say the final words. Good for Marvel that they're are winning the war against DC. But this movie and this ending alone cannot be topped.

    One of the greatest cinematic moments ever. Batman was willing to make the ultimate sacrifice in order to save Gotham. The police will hunt him. The citizens will fear him. Just like Joker said, they’ll treat him as a leper. Despite all that, Batman was willing to go through with it to give Gotham a symbol of hope. Because he can take it. He’s a silent guardian. A watchful protector. The Dark Knight!
    *Theater goes apeshit* 👏👏👏

    My favourite movie not just because it's Batman but because of the acting, writing, soundtrack, cinematography etc. I never seen a movie so well rounded before especially an ending so captivating as this...

      @@lilbigfan3782 I disagree. tdk is a better Batman movie. Tdk takes elements from several comics like long halloween, killing joke, and the man who laughs. it fleshes the Bruce Wayne character extraordinarily well and Batman’s morality is questioned through the entire movie.

      @@Nicolas815 tdk doesn't have every element from the comics like the batman. Tdk was a pure joker movie. The long Halloween was more adapted towards the batman 2022. The fact tdk was a batman film, but the story wasn't all about batman and Christian bale batman doesn't act like batman besides his morality.
