Holy cow bells! I was wondering what the noise was under the car when I started to move it! Now I know it’s the center support carrier bearing. Would’ve never figured this out without your video! Thank you!
Man I finally got to drive a G80 comp for my first time yesterday and it made me really appreciate my E92 M3! The S58 is a monster but the steering feel and lack of communication while cornering was a let down 😢
@@musawaseem8417 I wonder if the G87 feels better in that area? 🤔 I feel like F87 had sharper steering than the F80 but the smaller wheelbase definitely played a role.
@@micraw714 even my f36 has more communication with the road through the steering than the newer cars. I guess I need to get an e92 in the future for that hydraulic steering haha.
the cow bell sound, you dont need to replace anything, just take the drive shaft apart and apply grease. I did mine 5years back and still not a sound since. For the seat belt, just get a seat belt position clip and the arm with grab onto it fine
Pole positions look so good in e9x m3's. Problem for me is that I would need to register my car as a 2 seater even if I have the rear seats in. Then my insurance doubles.
@@ThicWhips also, when you go to do the headliner you might as well get the carbon roof done. Hgk has them for 820 euros ($920 usd ~) cheaper than going through IND even after shipping.
@@oni5909yes I believe so. Mine is just going through a full track transformation for the summer I will post back after I have had a go with the final drive 👍 whilst it's had tons of other work carried out I will hopefully be able to pinpoint the difference from the final drive. One thing I will say is that weight reduction makes a massiveee difference on these cars. Fully stripped it was a completely different beast. Even after a full cage went in there is zero comparison to stock. From a heavy tame car it has transformed it, unrecognisable performance gains and that was still with one of the stock electric seats
I had an e90 330i and the passengers would complain when having a drink because it’d block the air vent which is a big deal here in Florida. It gets hot!!!
Agree with most of this. I actually love way revs and it is fun at normal legal speeds. I have a model y and had model 3 long range and they give you so much torque without really any effort and no real fun before into licence losing territory. Enjoy just the experience of driving the car for sound. So missing from a lot of modern cars now
As a former and long time M3 owner... This list is gospel... And some of it applies to E46 and E36 M3s as well. Such great cars though. You always regret selling them if they are manuals... Don't know exactly why, but they are just special cars you fall in love with.
My drivers seatbelt hander works most of the of time (after I fixed it) 🙂 (unless on a step slope!). But no there not useless, wait until you get older, I'm 54 and I struggle to reach the belt if the hander fails 😛. Interesting video anyway, and good to hear what the propshaft support bearing noise sounds like 👍 Btw I have the 'Hifi audio' (1 up from base), sounds great, but I too often turn the music down to hear the engine! Re torque, that's because it's a high HP NA engine 😛, and it's not sluggish over 4k RPM, lol.
Hey just a heads up! I have a e92 m3 as well. My headliner started failing in the same spot and it started failing quickly shortly after. so take care of it before the whole rear starts falling.
Tall people complain about seating position, my complaint is the steering wheel position. I can put my seat really low but the wheel stays high at an odd angle.
Great video. Just for pure driving experience and enjoyment, drivers car type of feel. which would you pick? 1: BMW M2 Comp 2: Porsche 718 Cayman S 3: BMW e92 (Manuals for all of these)
hey that slight oil "Sweat" right below the oil cap is from the powder coat where the oil cap screws into chipping, i have that same issue as well, powder coated valve covers would solve that issue as well
Great E92! Can you tell me, which of those two seats (pole position and sportster) seat lower? Have huge problem with height in my car so need to set it as low as possible
You hit everything on point great video. Would you say its worth to upgrade sound system if you have the logic 7 premium? Thats what i have and was thinking if an upgrade is necessary . Thank you.
That’s a tough call. I’m not a massive audiophile so sound to me isn’t really all that important. Based on the price of alpha one, I’d personally be fine with logic 7
Have you had any issues with the footwell module? I've seen some stuff on the forums where these go bad and regardless if there's nothing wrong with the car bimmercode will state there is a critical error almost recognizing the module is on its way out
Hey man i have an f30 and i just tried to add sport+ , auto fold mirrors and a couple other things and also i tried the blinking tails and it doesnt show sport+ anymore im wondering when i press code and it shows restarting wco and whatnot if it deleted my other stuff specifically sport plus, thank you❤
Just curious.. Why did you buy a "road trip" steering wheel... but have non-road trip bucket seats? My personal opinion the racing style steering wheels look much better. But I love the car regardless. =)
It’s a custom steering wheel that I designed based on what I liked. Has nothing to do with track, road trip, any of that. It’s just my person preference in style and cosmetics

Facts. The e92 is just different in its own right, it feels special everytime I drive it
@@ThicWhips yep! Doesn't even have to be driven hard to enjoy. It's like therapeutic 😌

I 100% agree with the lack of torque. Definitely takes away from the fun but when it’s up to speed, sheesshh. Best drivers car I’ve owned so far
Haha yup!
can you fix it by changing the diff like you can in the e46?

The e9x m3 has always been a dream car of mine since owning a e90 335, this video didn’t change my mind at all 😂
Tall people complain about seating position, my complaint is the steering wheel position. I can put my seat really low but the wheel stays high at an odd angle.
Might be more related to body type and torso length? My seats are practically on the floor but I find the wheel to be perfect
Yeah maybe so, I just have always preferred my steering wheel pointing straight at my chest
@@TexasTagz just readjust it? takes 1 sec
Great cars. Had most newer m3 variants w exception of e30. I can identify w these flaws. E46 and e36s were my favorites.
they make extenders for the seatbelt butler that fixes the missed grab issue

That’s tough. But I’d probably stick with my e92 based on the sounds and steering feedback alone.
I love hydraulic steering so I appreciate that comment.

Yup, pretty common. You can also run the e46 cap and even out the powder coat up top by lightly sanding it down. This helps with the oil sweating
@@ThicWhips thanks for the tip, love the car btw, keep grinding 🤙
So THATS what that little ping (cow bell) noise is. My E93 has made that noise since ive owned it (2018) and I just thought it was a BMW noise 😅
Very complete assessment of e9x m3.....maybe add the throttle actuators to the list?
Yeah, along with rod bearings I suppose.
Hey there, I'm not sure if you went over if the color of the car is paint or wrapped. What's that color called?
Such a beautiful spec thic whips! Since your e90 I’ve been inspired to get one looking to make that dream come true in 2024
I’d love to grab another e90 someday, I love those
Still working my way there so I can share the same annoyance as you do with the E92 M3

Not to assume but from the look of your car you can afford it just get the carbon fiber drive shaft for the car it makes a pretty big difference. 🤙
I’ve heard that creates more vibrations throughout the car, which I definitely do not invite lol

Do you have the Evolve carbon intake manifold

Great video, lots of good insight!
Glad you enjoyed it!
That ding sound when put in gear my 2006 325i does it can that be same problem for me bro?
I find it interesting that younger BMW enthusiasts are way more into the E92 then older BMW enthusiast like myself.
