I’m 53 years old, and I’m absolutely loving how real you are! I wish someone had told me all this when I was a teenager. We were not allowed to mention even the word period, and just had to get on with all the discomfort and pain. The pads were an inch thick and soo bulky. God, I’m glad it’s all over now! Kayli, you are the best! Keep being real. We love you. ❤️🌸💜🥰
I’m 41-years-old, and after having a period for almost 30 years, I still feel like I learned something new! Don’t stop over sharing, Kayli - it’s a rare and beautiful quality that will help so many people! ☺️
If this isn’t the most amazing, honest and relatable women’s video. YASSS KAYLI. Thank you for being vulnerable and open with us, makes me feel more normal.
the older i get, the more i'm like, whyyyy are we all so uncomfortable talking about periods?! you're so right, it's SUCH a normal part of being a human. the thing that changed the period game the most for me was switching to a menstrual cup! i was so afraid of them for so long but i just couldn't do the pad life anymore and i'm so, so happy i made the change. i forget i'm on my period half the time now!
yess girl, love you for speaking about this stuff! im super angry that they didn’t teach about any of this in health class, we had like one 15 min class about periods and thats all, they didn’t teach about discharge or anything like that, no wonder why so many girls are scared to ask about normal things that happen. already waiting for your next video ❤❤
*Honest Thoughts:* ...I won't pretend to ever know what it feels like to go through something so indescribably painful. I will share a few things that helped my girlfriend during these very hard times: (1) Sitting with her in silence - (Especially when apart due to distance because of work) (2) Comforting her (Most important) (3) Avoid buying her foods / treats / drinks that will make the pains worse (Explain to her comfortably with less aggression) (4) Giving her the plushies she loves (Always important to have something to cuddle) (5) She may be upset because she weren't able to go to the Mall / Anywhere - (Remind her that it's not her fault while showing to her that it's something that can still be done soon) (6) She's laying uncomfortably (Remind her of better posture while sharing with her facts you know to help her feel better during the period) (7) Avoid speaking about blood & anything that is sexual - (In all seriousness, there's time & a place for all of this) - (Just be more sensitive while allowing her to open up to you) (8) Be Real.
It's very nice of you to treat your gf with such empathy, love and kindness with her period it's something all women deserve and need more off, great job !
This video feels so validating to me. I get way more tired than usual on my period and sometimes that makes me anxious because I’m like “wtf is wrong with me” but seeing this just reminded me of how normal all these things are
raspberry leaf tea will be your best friend sis, it doesnt taste like too much, which is nice when you feel a little sick with your period, but it makes cramps just disapear. i tried it and couldnt believe how good it works!!
Im 18 and you are helping me figure so much out in terms of being a lady so please dont ever stop cuz there arent many creators out there who discuss this openly and deeply and I need all the tips and tricks I can get in terms of self care, love you sm.
I love you vlogs and how you’re showing us that we can learn about our bodies and how to make healthy lifestyle choices. Would love a video on where/how you started researching those things.
This video solidifies my thought that Kayli is the (younger) sister to us all, sharing the best self-care/beauty secrets with us and helping us be our best selves as we are.
This is so helpful for all the young girls who don't get access to this kinda knowledge about periods. Or guys learning how to help/support. Really needs to be spoken about more.
Kayli, I just love you! I'm 55, so these days are over for me, but you're right, periods are absolutely normal and the male half of the population needs to come to terms with that. I love that you look after yourself so well during your period. Well done for setting such a good example. Big hugs xxx
I know its hard to share personal information on the internet but thank you so much for doing so! It makes me feel like I’m not alone and I dont feel as self conscious or that there something wrong with me when I hear that other girls go through the same thing as me! I love your videos 💕
I dont understand why period talk tends to be so taboo. This is so great and informative for all people who experience periods. About the reusable pads, I have recently switched to period panties and its the BEST thing ever. They are a bit bulkier but I was used to pads, so not really much of a difference. And since I started using period panties I legit never leaked ever, which would happen with pads cuz they get crumpled and stuff but like ... what a LIFE SAVIOR. I use Snuggs brand, but I think that might be only available in my country right now.
Thank you so much for this! My period is very similar to yours, and I follow some of these routines, but you just taught me more. I got diagnosed with endometriosis lately, so feminine stuff has become more of a focus in my life. Again, really grateful for this video! :)
Thank you so much for sharing this with us!! It's very vulnerable for us women to talk about our menstrual cycle but sis you're helping a bunch of girlies and I appreciate you
I haven't had a period in over a year because I'm breastfeeding, now that they have returned I'm realizing I never really had a routine to begin with lol. I'm loving this video thanks for sharing! I'm gonna try those reusable pads!
You shouldn’t be embarrassed about oversharing! I really liked your honest perspective on this topic and I felt like you were a big sister to me throughout this video. Sending you love❤
i love kayli smm she is soooo realstic w everything honestly she shos the good n the bad parts not like sum other influencers n she feels like an older sister w her advice n honesty everythingg sm luvv
Doing ab exercises consistently (not just during the period) helps alleviate cramping. Also, avoiding cold drinks altogether can minimize the flow and cramps.
Bro this couldn’t have come at a better time. I just came on, I’ve been making notes for weeks on the phases of the periods and what food to eat and what to avoid etc and how to ease cramps and I stopped BC about 2 years ago too and my hormones have been wild also. So accurate - really loved this tho thank u ❤ women need to know all this stuff bc we’re not taught enough how to nourish and live within our cycles
I just started my period today and I’m having bad cramps so thank you for this video!! I really love how periods are becoming more normalized and it’s so helpful and comforting. Thanks for the video ❤❤
Great video. I’m in my 40’s and I would have loved a video like this when I was young. No one in my family had periods like I did so I felt weird bc they couldn’t understand why my flow was so heavy or my symptoms. The foods you mentioned definitely help (& I also did not know when I was young). So thank you for sharing intimate details. I hope this helps other young ladies who are going through the same thing and don’t know what to do.
I love that you are talking about this and not holding back! You have been one of my favorite TH-cam’s for a long time! And when you said that you switched to reusable pads! I was so happy because I use them as well!!! Thank you❤❤❤❤❤
I honestly find your videos so relaxing and honest, I got all the recommended nail stuff and am going to learn how to do my nails, your advice is great and you are just such a nice person to sit and listen to
i am SO glad she is talking about this, Kayli is my comfort channel on my period she covers everything with no shame and it makes me feel so much better💕
I literally started feeling cramps while watching)) Love this video, period talk is important and very helpful. Trying a cup and working out are top two things that changed my experience a lot❤️
Great video! I hate that people are so averse to talking about periods. In 2022 I started tracking my cycle in Excel and I feel like that's helped me so much in understanding why things are the way that they are certain times of the month. Also ,the only thing that's ever helped my cramps (besides ibuprofen but apparently I'm allergic) is raspberry leaf tea. It tastes nasty so I always throw a tea bag of something nice in there with it. Btw your hair tips have actually changed my life. Keep on keepin on :)
The discs are honestly so comfortable, and I wear nails all the time and have no problems taking them out. It’s a bit of a learning curve but I get little to no cramps with them on, no spillage, no UTI’s and they have reuse-able ones so NO WASTE on top of that. I’ve had my reuse-able flex disc for over a year and its the last period product I’ve ever bought to this day
I love your channel so much! Thank you for talking about periods and pads and ph balance. You’re awesome. You’re very knowledgeable and easy to listen to
Thank you for oversharing 😊😊Seriously too many women are uncomfortable talking about these things and it helps others when someone shares. I have also always had a very heavy flow and I'm excited to try the things you do to help!
i actually lift weights on my period lol ! it really helps with lifting up my mood. but i make sure that things aren't "that" heavy and i turn any leg day into a push/pull or even glutes day
Period panties are a good alternative to the thick reusable pads! There are tons of brands. I stopped using tampons since buying them for myself & my periods are so much better.
You're 5 years younger than me yet i'm learning a lot from you. I started following u for the hair care routine and I love your content 🥰 btw I use period panties, they're a life-saver, sooo peaceful when you sleep and you don't worry about spilling(?)
yesssss I just started doing this this month after reading the book In the Flo!!!!!!!!! and getting the app 28 to help me with what to eat and how to exercise on every day of my cycle. absolutely love how I started watching you for your nail videos and you always come out with videos that are so relevant ahhhhhhh Ily
I literally love your channel bc you're one of the few ppl who are work on theirselves and I'm happy to see ppl leaving that lifestyle where eating junk and not being active was considered cool
i'm so glad im seeing this because i started my period last night and oh my god. i'm like you with a really heavy flow and TERRIBLE cramps. i've been on birth control ever since i turned 13 and it barely helps. thank you so much i truly appreciate it.
As much as I love Kayli, do not ask TH-camrs about health concerns. Go see a family doctor. What works for her may not work for you. It will save you trial and error.
I LOVE that you’re sharing all this! It should really be normalized ❤️ I love listening to you! You’re my favorite youtuber! Thank you! It should be a girl talk series 😊
Girl you gotta try period panties! I've been using Period brand ones and they are a game changer. I even worked out with them in a spin class and I was shocked. So much more comfortable than a pad and healthier than a tampon
I’m an oversharer too, so I love that about you. 😅 Everything you said and have changed I have recently started doing too. Wish I had known all of these things 20 years ago when I was your age! I hope your video helps others find pain relief too. ♥️
★ I've always been afraid to tell my boyfriend how to support me during the period. I feel his heart is in the right place. He seems to think that the more I'm in pain- the more he needs to do for me. When in actuality, I just want him to understand that I need some alone time. While I appreciate him checking up on me every few hours. It can be irritating when he does it every hour... I just want some space... Ugh... He continues to get me little baskets with treats in them but doesn't understand that I don't have cravings as much as he thinks I do. He also insists on carrying me when he visits but it makes my stomach hurt even more... I've been trying to be understanding with him but he just seems to get it wrong in so many ways... like the other day- I was trying to make breakfast as it was my way of saying "I can still fight this period" but he lifted me up to reach the cereal that I didn't even need help reaching... When I tried to sleep last night- He didn't fetch me water. He just cuddled me while telling me that he loves me... :/
Thank you so much for sharing, my love! I truly believe the more people talk about this, the closer we get to ending the stigma around something that's incredibly normal. I suffer from stage 3 endometriosis, PCOS and adenomyosis and holy hell, my periods are heavy and debilitating. I started using Knix underwear instead of pads + tampons and it's been LIFECHANGING!! I bleed a ton on my period and they are so comfy and make it all a little more bearable. Something. to try if you get tired of the single reusable pads. 💛
idk if someone has already written this, but there is one thing: hot bath really helps but it also can be a reason for bleeding, so be careful. you can use a bottle of cold water and place the bottle on your abdomen and groin area, i swear it helps as well
I relate to this so much! I wonder since your cramps are so horrific if you could potentially have endometriosis, adenomyosis or PCOS. I’m not a doctor but something worth maybe to look into, however there’s really no treatment for endo- even though there’s surgery, it will grow back. All of these things I do & I highly recommend seed cycling and “eating your cycle” as well. The Rael hearing patches are also great for on the go heat if your heating pad dies. Much love!! Xx
Just discovered your channel and have been binge watching!! I would love to hear your journey on balancing your hormones (ex. foods, specific things you do for that) ❤
Ginger helps with period cramps, headaches, and nausea. It's supported by research and has helped me a lot! I just boil some sliced or ground ginger in water, and maybe throw in some lemon, honey or tea when I feel like it. I highly recommend it if you don't have averse reaction to ginger.
Oh my gosh, you are somehow so relatable to me down to a t. The type of period you've always had, your age, the recent 2 whole cup sizes thing, the gut issues and coffee, and even some things you said in your skin care and blowout videos. The algorithm is getting scarily personal, lol. I appreciate the content you're putting out. Thank you :))
also, I've always sworn by eating salmon to help lighten my periods or sometimes shorten them because I am a full 7 day period person, or 6 if I'm lucky. Strangely, the miso salmon at the Cheesecake Factory in particular does a lot for me compared to regular salmon. I really don't know why, and I imagine it's probably not healthier in any way and it is probably farmed salmon, too. But it does something to me.
Love this video girlie! I just want to mention to the other girlies having cramps during your period is normal. Some people get really light cramps and some people get painful cramps. However, you should definitely do your research and visit an obgyn because cramps should not necessarily make you throw up or be in loads of pain for hours on. Light flows and heavy flows are normal too but you should not fill your whole entire pad within one hour. It does not necessarily mean you have Endo, PCOS, or anything wrong especially if your blood work and ultrasounds are coming back normal consistently. It is also normal to have painful cycles certain months and not others but it should not be extreme. If you do not have an OBGYN, definitely look into it ❤️ vitamins help a lot as well!
Thank you for doing this video. You made feel normal cuz lots of things happened to you the same goes with me. As ashy girl it’s been hard to talk about it even with my mom. Thank you kayli , keep going💖💖
Please Kayli and everyone reading this, TRY the menstrual discs. They changed my period to the better so much! I feel so more comfortable. And I have a heavy flow and sensory issues because of my adhd. So they really are a lifechanger for everyone! :)
Girl PLEASE get checked for endometriosis! Woman should NOT BE IN PAIN when I’m their period. I went 19 years dreading life, missing out on the activities, hunched over in bed in the fetal position, crying, heavy flow, etc. and I was so sick and tired of being in so much pain. I advocated for myself and found a specialist in Oregon. We did the consultation and we did the surgery and the surgery ended up being six hours long (should only be 2 hours ) because I had so much endometriosis in my body! She cut it all out. I was misdiagnosed for 19 years. Nobody wanted to believe me (except my family ) none of the doctors believed me they all thought I want and painkillers…. I highly suggest you just go see a specialist, endometriosis specialist not just an OB/GYN. Unfortunately, the only way to find out if you do have endometriosis is to have a laparoscopic surgery. You can’t see it on an ultrasound or MRI or anything
This. I have endo and ever since I got diagnosed (2018 with surgery being the only true diagnosis) I learned that pain should Not come with a period. Discomfort is normal, acne can happen but shouldn't be painful or aggressive, etc. But as soon as your period is impacting your daily life, there is a problem. Nausea from pain is also not normal or ok. If a doctor tells you "thats just how it is," f them and get a second opinion
Kayli, I love your videos! I don't know if it's just me but in this video and other of your videos, I've been hearing a high pitch sound in the background. I find your videos SO helpful and interesting and I would really hate it if anything ruined my and other viewers' experience. :)
Eating is very important! I also drink black tea... I always get lightheaded on my period and I fainted a couple times. I know it's hard to eat on periods cuz you feel nauseous, but once you eat it gets better.
I started to watch her because of her haircare routine video, and now im obsessed with her channel 😅🥰
Same! also this came at a great time for me (day 2)
Yepp we love Kayli 😌

*Honest Thoughts:*
...I won't pretend to ever know what it feels like to go through something so indescribably painful. I will share a few things that helped my girlfriend during these very hard times:
(1) Sitting with her in silence - (Especially when apart due to distance because of work)
(2) Comforting her (Most important)
(3) Avoid buying her foods / treats / drinks that will make the pains worse (Explain to her comfortably with less aggression)
(4) Giving her the plushies she loves (Always important to have something to cuddle)
(5) She may be upset because she weren't able to go to the Mall / Anywhere - (Remind her that it's not her fault while showing to her that it's something that can still be done soon)
(6) She's laying uncomfortably (Remind her of better posture while sharing with her facts you know to help her feel better during the period)
(7) Avoid speaking about blood & anything that is sexual - (In all seriousness, there's time & a place for all of this) - (Just be more sensitive while allowing her to open up to you)
(8) Be Real.
It's very nice of you to treat your gf with such empathy, love and kindness with her period it's something all women deserve and need more off, great job !

I’ve just bought a reusable heat bag that attaches to you via bag
Your living room looks like a vibe and insanely comfortable 🤩🤩🤩

i ADORE reusable pads! bought them a couple years ago and never looked back!

I don't think this has been said enough - this was an EXCELLENT video and we need more content like that on the internet
This is the 1st vid I have ever watched from you and I am already obsessed with you 😊
I love your vulnerability ❤ Stay real girl 🫶🏻
Thank you so much for sharing, my love! I truly believe the more people talk about this, the closer we get to ending the stigma around something that's incredibly normal. I suffer from stage 3 endometriosis, PCOS and adenomyosis and holy hell, my periods are heavy and debilitating. I started using Knix underwear instead of pads + tampons and it's been LIFECHANGING!! I bleed a ton on my period and they are so comfy and make it all a little more bearable. Something. to try if you get tired of the single reusable pads. 💛
idk if someone has already written this, but there is one thing: hot bath really helps but it also can be a reason for bleeding, so be careful. you can use a bottle of cold water and place the bottle on your abdomen and groin area, i swear it helps as well
this video came to me just in time ✨ thank u so much for sharing your routine with us, i’m gonna try eat better this days
I am 58 and absolutely 💯 Love your channel ❤️ I love that you are so open and gentle with your words . Your a great inspiration Ty Kaylie 😊
Much love!! Xx
I’m obsessed with your videos girl
I really like how you talk, it's very exciting, I haven't seen anyone also talk about periods in our language yet (god, thanks for knowing English)
Bro kayli perfect timing ily and your videos
The Rael Heating Patches CHANGED MY LIFE!

Healthcare provider here. Totally agree!
Kayli, I love your videos! I don't know if it's just me but in this video and other of your videos, I've been hearing a high pitch sound in the background. I find your videos SO helpful and interesting and I would really hate it if anything ruined my and other viewers' experience. :)
I hear it too! I though it was my AirPods at first 😂
Kayli you are the big sis I never hadddd! Thx so much for these videos girl
Eating is very important! I also drink black tea... I always get lightheaded on my period and I fainted a couple times. I know it's hard to eat on periods cuz you feel nauseous, but once you eat it gets better.
