I absolutely love my Klein driver, I’ve been able to replace a dozen four inch deck screws with a lot of patience and really strong thumbs (I was 3 hours from tools and civilization). I like the carabiner, but your finger or thumb placement will have to be a consideration when tightening though.
I've had the Klein for years. The tool (either brand) is way handier than some people might think. Want to be a Hero to the Wife, buy either (or both) right now, go with the kitchen and bathrooms and tighten all the loose drawer pulls and doorknobs in no time. The low-profile spinner head is key. Either would be a good stocking stuffer to those who know the value of tools.
The Milwaukee bit holder has a magnet that holds it tight to the side of the ratchet when you're storing it on the carabiner. That is why its an asymmetrical shape. I have the Klein and like it but the Milwaukee did add some clever features to theirs.
I agree, SK11 from Japan make some bits so tiny that they are almost impossible to get out. I have desired a hole on the back of a mini bit driver before.
Hello again, Doc Thank you for another Great Video 👍 I'm not sure which one had the hole going through it. But that reminded me of the Hy-lok Rivet's I used have removed to disassemble jet engine compressors. You would put 1/8" Allen wrench to hold the screw part. And the socket on the Nut part. I have no idea if that is used anywhere else. I brought my Hy-lok Ratchet from Mac tools in the early 2000's. Again thank you 👌
I think that it would be nice if they made one that could acceot their double sides bits. Would make for a great accessory for the milwaukee fastback 6in1.
The Klein ratchet is junk. I have it. Most of the chrome is flaking off. What’s left is super sharp. I’m around metal shavings all day long, so the magnet is full of it and is a pain to clean it off. Wera is probably the best micro ratchet. With zero issues. I will try this Milwaukee version when I see it in stores
I keep the Klein in my pocket and use it most days doing restaurant maintenance. The only flaws I've found are the chrome plating started coming off not long after buying it and the reverse lever gets hit a lot while in use. It's also not very smooth in the gearing. None of these are deal breakers, just not "Klein" tier, more Harbor Freight.
Take a look at the Harbor Freight "PITTSBURGH Ratcheting Right Angle Multi-Bit Screwdriver". For $4 it's really nice and handy to sneak into a tight spot.
I took my Klein apart without any care for it, degreased it and chopped the pawl spring + rebuilt. Back drag after doing so is identical to koken tools I own. Tested in the field and no gear skip or engagement issues with literally zero back drag. New ratchet and if it breaks I'll buy another and do the same because I need 5/16 and 1/4 on hand daily l
The carabiner looks like it'll dig into your hand when you torque. Obviously this isn't a high-torque tool, but I mean within the tool's range. You don't need a carabiner in everything, and if the carabiner means that giving a bit of an "oomph" will be annoying then that's an example for a carabiner making a tool less useful for its function and more useful as an earring.
A gearwrench 5" ratchet in 1/4 is slimmer in profile than both of these. Don't buy for use as a micro 1/4". I use these solely for fasteners in poor locations.
Really like that whole carabiner option of the Milwaukee but......I got the Klein set 1-year ago and I'm very happy even though I shucked the bits into the bottom of the tool box and just use the bits from a Ryobi set that I got on sale. Milwaukee is late to this party.
Thank you for saying the Country of manufacture. I can't say I don't purchase items made in China because unfortunately that's near impossible but I'd prefer not to.

Bought the mini kleins a couple years ago because of this channel. Easily top 5 tools when ranked according to value to price ratio
Either one would be handy to have in a service box. Thanks Doc

Maybe the hole is to help with getting stuck bits out of the Klein? Use a pocket screwdriver?
Great point!

Where did you pick this up at because no one seems to have them yet?
Ohio Power and Tool
I have the Klein and a different one that is a bit driver on one end and a 1/4 ratchet on the other end.

Nice review, I think I’ll pick one up.
Would be better if had a little kink in the shaft to save the knuckles like the vessel?

I've used the Klein a lot and would not want a carabiner there. The smooth circle is very important.
I believe the hole is to have a way to push out the bits

Thanks for the review and video brother.
Is there a link for the Milwaukee?
Just to Milwaukee. Not sure where they are in stock yet. www.milwaukeetool.com/Products/48-22-2950

Milwaukee is coming for Klein's lunch!
Looks like Milwaukee is also a bottle opener?
They should make a bottle opener that’s also a ratchet.
On the klein the hole is for 1/4-20 bolts/studs passthrough
👍
If only it was 8mm instead of 5/`6
I’m think I’ll stick with my icon bit ratchet. The versatility and function of that thing is unbeatable

My Klein broke after a month, I bought one from harbor freight and it works way better

Very true
Few weeks and whole America will not be able to buy anything from China, right?😅
He’s been doing it more and more lately, Doc is the best
They aren't made in china?
@@littlejack59 They're made in Taiwan
