Amazing visions and the work that it requires…. Your shop is an incredible inspiration to those of us who LOVE OUR PASSION FOR BUILDING CARS… THANK YOU
Chad, when you welded the two pieces on the fender to but together when you close the hood, you could add two guide pins so when you close the hood, the pins would go into the holes in the fender and line itself up. It would not only line it up, it would hold it in place. Just a thought. - John
I love the flip front end and it looks great.....a little tricky to get things square but so much worth the extra effort to get that look. Nate is a great asset and luxury to have in your shop. He's very well rounded in automotive knowledge and very practical in his work. Great job handling the camera Jolene.
Mak8ng a flip front with original sheet metal is a tough go at times but yours is fitting nice great job. It actually is fitting better than some of the fiberglass kits looking great
Well done Chad, Jolene and Nate, progress is being made on both projects. The hood flip on the 1940 Ford Coupe with hood aligning to the body looks great . Nate is a mechanical wizard in making strides in wiring up the starter switch , headlights , gas gauge and oil , pressure , voltage gauges and etc. Not everybody has the aptitude to totally rewire a 1936 Hudson Terra Plane.
Very interesting for me. It looks like a huge job, but it looks like you can handle it. The whole rebuild is quite mind blowing. I think I love that car well looking forward to the next video until then. Hope everything goes well.
Yep I watched some other shows but jolene's work with the camera is exceptional beautiful and talented not just saying that but her camera work is really good
A friend who’s an excellent painter (landscapes) is often asked the same question: “ how long did it take you to paint that? His honest answer is “don’t really know...maybe three hours” The questioner starts to calculate the hourly rate - when he adds “plus forty years to Learn how!”
Thanks, I’ll take that as you agree that creative work needs to take in experience and know-how into the value. Chad seems to value speed over everything, but in his case, why?
Love it Chad. Reminds me, of me. Talking to yourself... "Stop it", should I tack it?" Your show, is top five, WAY better, than when it was on TV... Keep grinding, you and miss Jolene Rock!!!
It's a shame we didn't get too see the '59 Ford Retractable in yesterday's auction video also I was wondering why the comments got turned off 😕 You will make it fit Chad 👍 Go for it Team Hiltz 👁🐅👌
He tells us to comment will do it good or bad no one is perfect comment it may help we will never know he dose it his way we do it to but some times a out sider helps. so do it comment, subscribe, like , it help's his channel
Hey Chad it's looking really good. Just wondering about the weatherstripping along the top of the hood under the windshield, that's definitely going to change the height of the hood side of the fenders as well.
Maybe a couple line up pins 1 at the edge of the fender and 1 at the 45° angle at the top.. kind of like you do on the fender skirts... just bouncing an idea.. looks good
Why didnt you get the shape before spot welding it together? You would have got the shape much easier and closer than guessing by slipping the paper between the divided fender. And the bottom of the cut piece of metal should mirror the top curve. You make things more difficult than need be. Just my observation.
I think Chad’ way works fine. Better than a wobbling fender. He has built dozens of cars, he has his way and you have your. Everyone thinks their way is best lol
Usually flip ups only include hood section first time I've seen half of fender included I don't know about fender being split well have to see when it is finished how it looks.
Back when you made the cuts to separate the hoods from the fenders, i was wondering if a thin strip taked on each side on the outside, might maintain some rigidity and integrety to keep thm from flexing once you seperated them. Im thinking now with what you're dealing with, it may have been a good idea.
Didn't like the angle cut that everyone uses. So on my 67 C10 I'm using 10 inch push pull actuators to push the front clip forward before raising up to access the engine. No angle cut.
I tried to get in touch with these people and offered the $8k he asked for the 40 Plymouth Coupe immediately on posting of the video, via their so called website. Silence, nothing, nada ........ also asked if he would build a project car for me. Same ........ crickets. I honestly don't believe he wants to build cars for clients. I am fast losing interest in this channel.
Here's my ten cents' worth, for what it's worth ( just a dime ?), Firstly, please, no latches on the outside, aesthetics matter, and the Hot Wheels toy didn't have them anyway. Weld a doubler on the underside of the fixed half of the fender, protruding forward a little, topped with a rubber strip, for the tilting half of the fender to land on, i,e, a lap joint, two locating pins, tapered to allow for the angularity, and latches on the underside. Perhaps those rubber truck jobbies, or something else available locally. Over-centre clasps would ideal, only maybe a little too intricate and prone to capturing road muck. The strengthening fiddles ( those pieces at right angles you have already added ) can remain, and be worked around. Suggest all of this to Nate, and see what he comes up with. And ignore all the naysayers, by now you know who I'm talking about. Good luck with the build, - so far, so fabulous !!
I think if you can maybe add some hood bumpers on the back side of the hood, kind of like the ones usually on the front of hoods, to help with fitment. Or maybe some type of bumpers coming up from like the frame towards the inside of the hood.
Cut the brace off going from one side to the other let it relax, when you push down on the top of the fender it can't go anywhere cause the 2 sides are connected, when they align back up then re weld it.
Maybe u could put the tips of some hood pins on one half of the fender and opposing holes on other fender edge kinda like a fender skirt comes together!
If you had went to the other side and place the paper in the gap and push the sides together then draw the shape with the pin it would have been the easiest. maybe!
Fantastic work Chad like everything you do thanks for the video Jolene
Amazing visions and the work that it requires….

THANK YOU
Nate is worth his weight in gold and a great team player

Great idea. The fender edges need to be flanged. (thought the same thing myself)
good work on the Hudson nate.. good work on the toy Chad and great filming Jolene..
I love the flip front end and it looks great.....a little tricky to get things square but so much worth the extra effort to get that look. Nate is a great asset and luxury to have in your shop. He's very well rounded in automotive knowledge and very practical in his work. Great job handling the camera Jolene.
That flip-up front end is wonderful. 😎👍
Great work guys, even with the other car
Nate is a very self-direct hand…. A great Comrade who is cooperative and a steady guy!
Good crew folks!!
Gotta Love Nathan ! ~~. He needs his own merch. ~> A bigger piece of the pie, IMHO :)
Mak8ng a flip front with original sheet metal is a tough go at times but yours is fitting nice great job. It actually is fitting better than some of the fiberglass kits looking great
Love the hot rod muscle car coupe build looking awsome cant wait see it all done 😎🤘👍
Chad, thanks for the tips and tricks. Looks great. Thanks for the video Jolene.
It's awesome to see the tilt front end going back on and getting all adjusted to look perfect again
Nice work Chad
hello everyone from FRANCE , good work on the flip front and the car.
Nate should bring that alternator down a little and flip the bracket on top where it goes but over all good job 👍
NATH is a super star , CAR guy love watching the hard work ,jolene on the ball again chad not so bad lol
Unbelievable camera work yet again 👌🏻💫🥇🥇🥇
I've like all your builds, but I love how the hotwheels car is turning out.
Well done Chad, Jolene and Nate, progress is being made on both projects. The hood flip on the 1940 Ford Coupe with hood aligning to the body looks great . Very Nice Chad. And Nate Jolene good video
CHAD WOW GREAT JOB I ENJOYED TO WATCHED VIDEO FROM JOLE FROM DEAF GUY THANKS FOR CLOSED CAPTION,
Nice to see the flip front end back on the car. Getting closer to pulling the body off to strengthen the frame.
Looking forward to seeing what you all are up to tomorrow🍀
Very impressive 👍
Look at a Big Rig Flip type hood...Look at the guides, slides and cable and springs contraption..That will give you some ideas...
Flip front is super cool , nice to watch Chad slow down a wee bit , carry on brother
Great job chad, step at a time. You are extremely talented and patient
Progressing well Chad, like your problem solving skills and patience, looking great!
Very interesting for me. It looks like a huge job, but it looks like you can handle it. The whole rebuild is quite mind blowing. I think I love that car well looking forward to the next video until then. Hope everything goes well.
Hi Jolene Chad and Nathan. Hope you all had a blessed day. I will say keep up the good work. God bless and have a blessed evening and night.
Yep I watched some other shows but jolene's work with the camera is exceptional beautiful and talented not just saying that but her camera work is really good
Where the fender matches up together you should weld a piece of metal to both sides and have a alignment pin installed..
Going to do that on my 67 C10 custom flip front end.
A friend who’s an excellent painter (landscapes) is often asked the same question: “ how long did it take you to paint that? His honest answer is “don’t really know...maybe three hours” The questioner starts to calculate the hourly rate - when he adds “plus forty years to Learn how!”
It makes good sense,imho.
Thanks, I’ll take that as you agree that creative work needs to take in experience and know-how into the value. Chad seems to value speed over everything, but in his case, why?
That thing is gunna be great!
Love this car, wish is was my street car( as is)! Nice job you guys and Miss Jolene and Fina girl.
Love it Chad. Reminds me, of me. Talking to yourself...
"Stop it", should I tack it?"
Your show, is top five, WAY better, than when it was on TV...
Keep grinding, you and miss Jolene Rock!!!
Looking good big job way over my skill level 👌
I know you and Nate will make it work 👍👍
Another great show .Y F.😊

Cool to have bonnet /hood strapped down also Chad . Thanks jolene for filming 👍 hope Fina ok
Looks great guys. Well done Chad
Looking good
Hot Wheels car is coming right along, looking forward to see the Hudson running
It's a shame we didn't get too see the '59 Ford Retractable in yesterday's auction video also I was wondering why the comments got turned off 😕 You will make it fit Chad 👍 Go for it Team Hiltz 👁🐅👌
👍
am I dreaming….when I watched yesterday I saw the 59 Ford sell for $4,000.00……I’m sure I did but it’s not on yesterdays video now…….
I wonder what he came home with.
He tells us to comment will do it good or bad no one is perfect comment it may help we will never know he dose it his way we do it to but some times a out sider helps. so do it comment, subscribe, like , it help's his channel
I also can see you putting buckles connecting the joints with guides beneath like you suggested,
Hey Chad it's looking really good. Just wondering about the weatherstripping along the top of the hood under the windshield, that's definitely going to change the height of the hood side of the fenders as well.
When we make a shape; we take a piece 0f 1/4 in. copper tubing and bend it right around the fender and we have our shape
Maybe a couple line up pins 1 at the edge of the fender and 1 at the 45° angle at the top.. kind of like you do on the fender skirts... just bouncing an idea.. looks good
Thanks Shad 😊
I love de 🚙 Car!!
That form tool you have is what you needed to start with.
Why didnt you get the shape before spot welding it together? You would have got the shape much easier and closer than guessing by slipping the paper between the divided fender. And the bottom of the cut piece of metal should mirror the top curve. You make things more difficult than need be. Just my observation.
Everybody has there own way to get there...as long as we get there.
I think Chad’ way works fine. Better than a wobbling fender. He has built dozens of cars, he has his way and you have your. Everyone thinks their way is best lol
All these keyboard warriors guaranteed he's got a desk job he's probably got to call AAA when he gets a flat tire or needs air in there tires😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Awesome, Thanks
You all do a fantastic job.
Looks good I love it
You should get some struts to help lift the hood and also keep it from opening to far. Also some hood prop strut clamps.
Yes that's a good idea
You guys need a awesome hood ornament that you can grab the hood to open and close the hood, good show you guys 🎉
You are a artist 🤯👍
Everybody loves Fina
Add couple hatch struts to front clip to slow down / soften opening and closing
Put self tightening clamps on the underside of the “meeting “ fenders
Usually flip ups only include hood section first time I've seen half of fender included I don't know about fender being split well have to see when it is finished how it looks.
Flip front ends are extremely common on drag cars, always have been

There's Fina ❤
Nice 👍
Hood fenders need to have pins or claws that will go into the slots on the back half of the fender, and on the top would be nice few quick couplers...
You guys are Cooler Than Dang It!
Love the aesthetic of the flip open hood and the suicide doors...i can see it at a car show all opened up and gleaming under the lights!
Back when you made the cuts to separate the hoods from the fenders, i was wondering if a thin strip taked on each side on the outside, might maintain some rigidity and integrety to keep thm from flexing once you seperated them. FINA!!!
Nothing the great bad chad can't fix
Didn't like the angle cut that everyone uses. So on my 67 C10 I'm using 10 inch push pull actuators to push the front clip forward before raising up to access the engine. No angle cut.
Chad does it his way and always turns out fine..😊
Who ever got the 59 ford got the deal of this century.5 thousand worth 20 thousand...lucky dog.
They did not sell it the bid was two low move it down the road

Always remember to tack with the helmet on - 😂 its easy to forget , eye safety 1st - I know you just forgot

Chad I am thinking this is where you make the fender fit the piece instead of making the piece fit the fender. you got this 🙂👍
What's going to happen when you remove the hood brace?
Fantastic vidio.
Zipity doo da zipity yay, together in the body shop what a wonderful day! 😉✌
Get a couple of the rubber closers ball & socket type?
I think if you can maybe add some hood bumpers on the back side of the hood, kind of like the ones usually on the front of hoods, to help with fitment. Or maybe some type of bumpers coming up from like the frame towards the inside of the hood.
Cut the brace off going from one side to the other let it relax, when you push down on the top of the fender it can't go anywhere cause the 2 sides are connected, when they align back up then re weld it.
Some kind of guides on the underside of the fenders, male, female mated with a latch to pull them tight.
You could use door trim on the stationary part of the fender then butt the hood against it and buckle it down.
They do make a 20 inch contour gauge .
Hi all from Trois-Rivieres Quebec
A IT JUST A SHOW A
AND CHAD WEN ALL THE THIM. HE IS VERY GOOD Y NO
Maybe u could put the tips of some hood pins on one half of the fender and opposing holes on other fender edge kinda like a fender skirt comes together!
What size zip disk do you use I watch you every day I look forward to it 😊
I think cutting the cross bar would let the fenders loose to get better read...it's keeping the flex of fenders in not relaxed....maybe!?
shut the paper in the seam between it will hold i for you pull on fender line up seam same pat for both sides
If you had went to the other side and place the paper in the gap and push the sides together then draw the shape with the pin it would have been the easiest. maybe!
Will need different bracing with large cut for blower clearence
Hello from fredericton NB
Electric lifts for front clip would be cool.
I'm using electric actuators on my 67C10
You'll get it I'm sure..no worries...cya tomorrow
Fun fun fun 👍
