love the food content from my favorite asian bros! Love your current news/topics videos but man food vids are your bread and butter and I love to see you guys going back to it!
For what it's worth, Sietsema never reveals his face, and he and Musto party ways with The Voice at the same time. It's not impossible that they're one and the same! I forwarded this video to Michael. We'll see what he has to say about it.
I’m so glad you mentioned Noodle Village! It’s my family’s favorite spot and it always feels good walking past the long lines for Hop Kee and Wo Hop. & their soup dumplings are 🔥
Loved the video. Left NYC 30+ years ago, coming back for a visit. Was going to go to my old stalwart from 30 years ago Wo Hop but you guys have given me so many new options. Going to have to spend more than 1 day in Chinatown. Tremendous video.
For like 90% of the population, Wo Hop is probably the number one choice and recommendation. In the real world, most non Asian people are not foodies and have almost no interest in trying unfamiliar Asian dishes. The general Tso chicken, fried rice and egg rolls is pretty much the default items the majority of what non Asians want. It sounds boring but that’s the reality

Noodletown is my go to ever since it reopened in September, been there at least twice a week for food since I work in the area. Place is always packed at night, but I never have to wait long for a seat, the turnover is usually really quick. The staff there are great too, especially now that I’m a regular and they know me. As for celebrity sightings, Sarah Jessica Parker was eating at one of the neighboring tables when I was there a couple months ago. Wouldn’t let me take a selfie though, which is understandable. Didn’t even notice it was her until a waiter asked for a photo and I took a longer look at who he was asking. I also missed the fact that Matthew Broderick was sitting right next to her lmao.
Mmm Chipilo’s!!! Part of my family hails from nearby Chipilo and yes there’s a lot of Italians in Mexico! Two of the best cuisines come together! Also…Mexicali in northern Mexico is very Chinese and the local food is Chinese/Cantonese food! So delicious!
I am surprised House of Joy was not mentioned. The dim sum there are much better than Ping’s and the dinner menu also have delicious choices. Very reasonable prices.
my favorite dish at pings is dragon whiskers i love tripe with ginger , jing fong used to do scallops in shell with custard now it doesnt . oriental garden stopped it years ago . first tried dim sum in the 90s when empire szechuan had a place on 97 and broadway had tripe with ginger scallops in shell with custard and grape leaf sticky rice . place was so good chinese people came and packed it on weekends . moved to 100 and bwy and no dim sum then no crowds . upper west side hasnt had a great dim sum place since now have to go to chinatown in man queens or brooklyn
i feel joe's shanghai is overrated. i've tried it and, nope. but then again, i've had really real soup dumplings. i know what the good stuff is supposed to taste like!
It’s ok, but I agree that it definitely coasts on it’s reputation as the place that originally popularized xiaolongbao in NYC. I liked their original Flushing location better, but that closed during the pandemic unfortunately. It’s still the standard to which I compare all other xiaolongbao to though, because theirs were the first ones I ever had.
hello fb, thank you for the guide streamed in - august gatherings (bak yue che)? - is it canal near chrystie for the park goers again. mott street eatery is definitely supported by me (an old schoolkid of grand street - again by the park). the eatery was done up probably about the many nice shops done by our papas and mamas over in flushing. each place had a name of the village they are making the plates from - the eatery was about the columbus kids park opening to cook for the papas and mamas that do not cook and heard nice still chinatown food for them people.. ooh - where is vanessa's dumplings with the sandwich addin saigon carrot salad. el-
Only places I don't agree with are Joe's (Yeah their XLB are alright but nothing else is good and there's better soup dumplings without the 30 minute tourist line) and Wo Hop (Big/Da Wong is just better)
I used to like Green Garden Village and ordered weekly-ish (pre-2020). But I went back again this year for takeout and noticed that quantity had shrunk :/ by a good 20% :( It makes price & quality / quantity ratio increase quite a bit. And seriously, West New Malaysia is better/more authentic than Curry House, based on sampled benchmarked dishes - sambal eggplants, beef brisket curry, and Asam Laksa My additions to the list - Hay Hay for best quality/price ratio BBQ meat in Chinatown; NB Wing Wong on Bowery for best old school Cantonese, IMHO.
1st watcher, there was a lot of info in this videobut I wish there was a little more explanation when not speaking english, especially when doing comparisons to other restaurants or regions of cuisines but thumbs up guys, great work

My NY foodie trip is now set! Thank for the recommendations.
I’m going to NYC in a month! If you don’t mind me asking, what were your favorite spots?
I’m so glad you mentioned Noodle Village! It’s my family’s favorite spot and it always feels good walking past the long lines for Hop Kee and Wo Hop. & their soup dumplings are 🔥
Ming Wong’s crew is from the closed down Big Wing Wong on Mott between Canal and Hester. Food is awesome.

Dang it, thought this was going to be an actual vlog. Was hoping to see the food. Lol
FUNG BROS FOOD!!! 👊
I am surprised House of Joy was not mentioned. The dim sum there are much better than Ping’s and the dinner menu also have delicious choices. Very reasonable prices.
The best char sui is at Roast 28 in Brooklyn, and the best Dim Sum in the city is at Precious Island Tea Shop in Staten Island.
Great video did yall do Washington DC Chinatown?👍🏾

which restaurant would you recommend then?
Try Quincy, Massachusetts. 😉
What do you think of Ping’s

Cantonese is awesome.
Please keep it alive.
Now I need to get to NY!

What are the two can't miss places they list at Mott Street Eatery? Gai Chicken and what else? Sammy something.

Bo Ky is OG. prob THE fav place in chinatown
You have to try Guyanese Chinese food. Definitely the best Chinese food. Go to Richmond Hill in NYC.
The picture you have of Robert Sietsema is actually Michael Musto.
For what it's worth, Sietsema never reveals his face, and he and Musto party ways with The Voice at the same time. It's not impossible that they're one and the same!
I forwarded this video to Michael. We'll see what he has to say about it.
I still remember same topic video with akwafina
Y’all are sleeping on House of Joy on Pell. Side note to David…love your enthusiasm but let Andrew finish a sentence!
Bo Kys pigs ear looks delish

Idol david and andrew,in your next vlog explain the difference between asian and other races such as american and european people and foods.
Swan cafe or what I grew up calling sims at chiantown. No one ever talks about them.
Why trying to talk like Uncle Rogers ?
One hundred dollars?! I don't even have one hundred cents!
Good。
what is that pork stuffed deep fried football...looks like a Scotch egg called.
Oh my goodness.... 😍😍😍😘😘😘
My favorite restaurant is Panda Express
harper seems to be closed for good :*(
The Pest, "Father Shelayly, how are you're Blarney Stones?"
Hard to go to these places when you drive. Nowhere to park. And I'm NOT taking no train.
If you can’t tolerate that, then you could visit an Asian country where the train system is better or visit California and drive to the places
