I just did this in my home indoor staircase. One thing I noticed after I was done was that a short segment of my staircase (which has turns) had it's hand rail at a slightly different angle than the pitch angle of the stairs themselves. Stairs were 30 degrees, handrail was 32 degrees. This was not noticeable at the outset, but when the last cable was installed at the bottom it was clear that it didn't match the stairs pitch angle because it passed by the stair points at different heights. I had made the cables parallel to the handrail. The lesson, measure the angle of both your handrail AND your stair pitch before doing these parallel-to-handrail wire or rod railing install. In my case, I'm probably just going to live with it. But if you notice ahead of time you may make a different choice. Vertical ballisters would make this angle offset not noticeable, for example.
I really like how you did your cable railing. I am working on something similar. where did you get your posts and the handrail? thank you for your response.
Thanks. It is ipe. I got it from a local hardwood supplier. It is used for decks so it is pretty easy to find. It is a pain in the butt to work with though. Good luck!
This turned out very nicely.
Thanks!

How come there are no returns on the stair treads?
How many feet of wire did you purchase?
I think it was 150’
How long did the total installation take you?
Maybe 5 hrs. Can’t really remember.
@@buildingsmall8422 thank you!
