Thanks a million times over. My bulb was hard to turn. So I grabbed my scarf in the car and used it. Finally got it to turn. Where is a man when you need one lol. Ladies we can do it too! Thanks again! 🙏🏾
Thank you for this video. It’s Saturday my low beam headlight was out ,and all automotive shops are closed and I-have to drive my car to work tonight. I decided to do it my self using your TH-cam video, God bless you!!
Wow!!! Thank you so much for this!!! Going to do it myself. Went to the dealer and they were going to charge me $47 plus taxes and the price for the bulb. I am so empowered right now. Thank you!
For those looking for a solution to changing the passenger side headlight bulb. Here is what you have to do, no tools...works with big hands too! Step #1, gently take the coolant overflow tank off it's front clip, by pulling it upward and off the small metal post, this will give you about 2 more inches of room to get your hand into the headlight assembly. Step #2, remove the rubber cover off the back of the light. Step #3, unclip the power to the bulb and remove it. Step#4. Put a new bulb into the assembly and lock it into position. The plug and socket will nicely line up. Step#5 Just guide the plug into the socket and squeeze them together until you hear that nice click. Step #6, put the rubber cover back on and put the coolant overflow tank back onto its clip.
So it’s a tad bit more work and that’s why he didn’t choose that side to fix? Thank goodness my driver side is out. But I want to change both to match 😐
No. Removing the front clip only is not enough for big hands. You will need to brut force a flat head screw driver between the back of the back clip (metal post) and the plastic retainer of the coolant overflow tank. The back clip (meal post) has a small metal tab holding the tank in place. Once the Screwdriver is allowing the plastic retainer to slide past or over the tab, lifting up and removal of the tanks is relatively easy. I found removing the tank from the back clip first worked best. The tank can then be placed over about a foot without needing to remove any hoses. Reinstallation is as simple as forcing the tank back onto the tabs at the same time. I'm sorry I did not video the process.
Thanks for the video- although the passenger side is way harder to do. The coolant reservoir is in the way (for the low beam on that side), and it' attached with clips which are impossible to get to. Finally, I had my daughter help me. My hands are not huge by any means, but trying to fit your hand back there with the coolant reservoir in the way has to be impossible for an adult man.

You may need the H11 bulb or the 9005 bulb, depending on your model. I have the SE and needed to 9005. Pull your bulb first to be sure. Btw, the 9005 is a longer buib and harder to remove. I assume the assembly is designed for the shorter H11 bulb but some a-hole engineer switched to 9005 without a care how the customer would be affected. I could not get the rear reservoir clip to release. From a tip in another video, I made a string lasso and was able to pull the wire harness into place and snap the bulb in. I did after getting the tip of the bulb into the hole but prior to seating it fully and twisting it into place. All-in-all, a horrible design, as is the battery location on this vehicle. A customer should not have to take their car to a mechanic for these simple tasks.
This helped a lot, I was trying to turn the harness out before Appearently...I was like WHY is the bulb so high up where I can’t take it out? F$&king Ford!! Now I feel silly lol.
What he doesn't tell you is you have to remove the coolant reservoir for the passenger side. Also an H11 doesn't fit the low beam socket on a 2017 Escape, a 9005 does.
I have been told to always wear gloves(latex) when working with this type of lightbulb. I was told the human skin touching the glass could ruin the lightbulb. Is this true? If so, why didn't you? If not, why not?
@@dailydrivencarsddc1182 See Colin Kerry comments below.... that pretty much sums it up. Driver's side is a snap (15 min job at the most).... passenger side... well... with midget hands maybe 20-30 minutes... my hands.... much longer!
So the bulb I pulled out of this location says 9005 which has a wider space between the prongs. I searched my local parts store and they say it's H11 too... which has very close prongs..
I know the feeling! They say H11 for the high beams but H11 only fits the low beams on a 2017 SE the prongs on the bulbs are too far apart for the highbeams
I just did my low beams on 2017 SE. HB3/9005 is what I pulled out and what fit. H11 would NOT fit due to the connector prongs being much closer, I tried.
Unfortunately this video isn't helpful for those of us with HID lights, not sure which specific models have those but they are about $130 per bulb and you need tools to replace them.
Don't you wish it was really that easy 🤣🤣🤣 our 2014 escape works nothing like that... In fact it appears as though they are removing the entire front of the car...(watching the bay from the big window at the dealership) 😬😳😳😳🙄🥴
This is lame like all the other ones. The passenger side is "not like the driver side" there is no space and no slack in the wire. No one shows that and glasses over it. Only one video I found does, took them an hour. Called Ford, they claim you have to drop the bumper? I so far have spent over 45 minutes attempting the passenger side. Driver side took less then three like this video.
Thanks a million times over. My bulb was hard to turn. So I grabbed my scarf in the car and used it. Finally got it to turn. Where is a man when you need one lol. Ladies we can do it too! Thanks again! 🙏🏾
TH-cam certificated 😊
Haha broke single mom here gonna start fixing my own car... who knew wed add mechanics to all the list of chores but here we are 😂
This video is much easier and simpler to follow than the others out there! Thank you!

you only get about 1/2 inch if you only pull it off the front clip. Don't know how you possibly got 2 inches.
So easy! And I didn't even know how to pop the hood before watching this. Bravo!
If you push the center of the rubber seal (push the dome in), the seal comes out more easily.
Easy and simple video. Straight to the point. Was able to replace my moms light bulb 💡 on her car.
Excellent video. Definitely the best one I’ve seen with how to do this. Simple, clear and straightforward. Subscribed!
I just changed my highlights over couple hours ago. It was very easy for me to do.
I used this video for my 2016 and it was a quick simple job. Thank you!

Thx a bunch! I just changed my passenger headlight. Easy peazy 👍🏽
This was good advice and big help made it look so easy 👍🏾
Wow, that looks easy. I have the confidence to try it myself now. Thank you
Well that was incredibly easy. Thanks!
Thank you sir changing my fiancé’s headlights today to LED lights.
Thanks for the video! It was super easy to do it myself Thanks to you.
My light had went out driving three Kansas at night this video help me out alot🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
_Alot_ is a town in India. _A lot_ is more than one of something; multiples of.
Thanks. Got this done in less than 5 minutes once I had the part.
Thank you for saving me money, time aand anxiety!
Thank you very much! Very easy. i changed my lamps in 10 minutes =)
Thanks for showing this. My headlights are very dim, and I want to replace them with brighter lights.
need a midget set of hands for low beam on passenger side the reservoir has to be moved to do low beam on a 2017 escape
I'm watching the mechanics in the bay in there removing the entire front of the car... Why is my belly burning? 🤣🤣🤣

On my 2014, the 9005 is the inner high-beam and the H11 is the outer low-beam.
@@kevinmiller6009 That's what my dealership told me too - and the fog lights are 9145, in case someone needs to change that as well.

Nice, simple, understandable. Next please😁
Thank you so much, that is much easier than I thought!
Great thanks brilliant job ! Now I know how to do it !
Keep making videos! I'm now subscribed 👍
This helped a lot, I was trying to turn the harness out before Appearently...I was like WHY is the bulb so high up where I can’t take it out? F$&king Ford!! Now I feel silly lol.
The fact you did 95% of this with one hand proves this is easy!
That was easy to follow, thanks for the video☺
Outstanding!! I have to do this in a day or 2, low beam just conked out.
You are the BEST! Thank you for the perfect video and instructuon! I did it!!!!!
Gotta change mine tomorrow. Thanks for the video !
Thanks!
Thankyou for this video. It helped so much
Perfect explanation. Thank you.
Quick and easy
Thank you so much🙏
Thank you. You are my hero.
THanks, I will change mine today.
Very simple and helpful, thank you
Thanks much easier than I thought
What he doesn't tell you is you have to remove the coolant reservoir for the passenger side. Also an H11 doesn't fit the low beam socket on a 2017 Escape, a 9005 does.
Hi, was wondering if you uploaded the one for how to change signal lights?
Finally something easy to fix!
Can we replace the bulb with LED one ? If Yes, which led bulb to buy ?
Thanks for your post! So helpful! 👍👍
Perfect! Thanks😊
For low beams make sure you get HB3 / 9005. H11 will NOT fit for low beams, at least on my 2017 SE
The me with me 9005 2017 SE
So helpful this is!!
I have been told to always wear gloves(latex) when working with this type of lightbulb. I was told the human skin touching the glass could ruin the lightbulb. Is this true? If so, why didn't you? If not, why not?
Oils on your skin get get on the bulb and possibly ruin the bulb, always use a glove or papertowel
Good, simple & detailed! Thx!!
Thank you for this video. It helped.
Thank you for posting!
2014 Escape has two T10 screws that must be removed. And the power is on the bottom and also a bit hard to remove. I gave up at this point.
Brutal to not know that until I read it here lol.
Thanks Ed!!!
Thank you so much! Super helpful!
Great video! 👍
Where did you buy the low beam for the car cause I can’t find it can you send me a link?
Wow that is so easy! Thank you!
You Rock, dude. Thanks !
Big help sir. Thank you!
Thank you so much! So much easier then thought.
Thank you so much ❤
Very helpful - thank you!
Is it normal for both low beams to go out at same time - possibly something else!?
Anything is possible but thats why they recommend changing both bulbs at the same time.
Yeah.. all the videos show it on the driver's side which is a snap compared to the passenger which is MUCH MUCH more difficult
How much more difficult?
@@dailydrivencarsddc1182 See Colin Kerry comments below.... that pretty much sums it up. Driver's side is a snap (15 min job at the most).... passenger side... well... with midget hands maybe 20-30 minutes... my hands.... much longer!

Thanks! Bosnian accident ? Lol
How about doing the side that is hard to replace bulb ? You have to go to dealership to get it with special tools . Lame design Ford
I would give you a like, if you would change the passenger side low beam!! There's a trick to the passenger side low beam.
Shouldn't you have gloves on? Not supposed to touch the bulb with bare hands.
That's the easy side
There is a trick there is no slack on the passenger side
What about the INFAMOUS passenger side where no man’s hand can reach??????
Don't you wish it was really that easy 🤣🤣🤣 our 2014 escape works nothing like that... In fact it appears as though they are removing the entire front of the car...(watching the bay from the big window at the dealership) 😬😳😳😳🙄🥴
