    cheers from Italy, I've bought a trk 502x just this week! I think it's a smart bike for the price/quality and it's true that it's made in China (and btw I don't think this is an issue by itself) but it still has an Italian heart, designed and supervised by italian engineers in Pesaro

    Brilliant review and much gratitude to you for making this video!
    I will never get to this part of the world and am glad I was able to see if from the 502 seating position!
    I have the non-X version and just completed 5000km of urban/suburban/rural and wilderness throughout the US northeastern states.
    Even though it's the road-oriented version, it handled logging roads and some wilderness with ease. I love this bike!! You can see my trip on REVER if interested.
    Completely agree that the weight of the bike is deceptive as it feels extremely agile and nimble. It got 58-61mpg for the trip and no mechanical issues at all.
    Hope you have more adventures and I will follow!
    Namaste

    Hi, I found your videos while browsing for Benelli 502x reviews and really enjoyed them and presentation and editing is great. Your honesty in your bike review was refreshing and makes me think I still may be r interested in a 502X. The Karakoram Highway looks daunting but stunning, looks like an amazing Country. Nothing to do with the bikes but your accent...I keep hearing traces of Welsh, is there a link? I subscribed and look forward to more of your videos. Thanks.

    I’m seriously considering this as my first big bike. They have new/ used where I’m doing my DAS. Beautiful, stripped back motorcycle. TRK 502 isn’t massively powerful but it’s raw which I think most people crave given most modern bikes do a lot of the work these days

    HI from New Zealand. We have amazing roads here to ride to , but you not only have amazing scenery, but also some of the most intense road travelling I think I ve ever seen. You don't know whats around the corner and still ride fast , sometimes here we have sheep wandering around or trucks coming round on sharp corners. Most of You Tube video's I skim thru but I watched your video from beginning to the end. Well done and very enjoyable. I,m very interested in the Benelli TRK or Royal Enfield 650 so you review was great. I actually really like the look off the Benelli but was worried about their reliability. Well not anymore Cheers

    I have had many bikes in the last 5 years. triumph. honda. yamaha. ive ridden bmw and ducati. and yesterday i took out my friends new benelli trk502. and i can honestly say the build quality is there. and the engine and gear box was lovely. everything was lovely about it. sit at 80mph at 7000revs and the engine was fine. and now i m thinking of getting one. i think us bikers are becoming snobs. and brand fixated. were becoming brane washed. Benelli have built a good quality bike

      Hello, I service my bikes myself or use a mechanic on High court Road called Waseem. Good gear at a reasonable price would come from a place called yamaha central I believe, Google it, it should be in g8 or g10.

    Very interesting perspective on this. Very practical. How's the build quality and how has it coped with the roads? Anything come loose or break or crack? Any finishes suffering from the stone chips etc? That's kind of what I was expecting to hear regarding an honest review.
    What sort of alternatives would you look at which were perhaps lighter? I do have my eyes on getting a Honda CRF250...

    • @Bykersam
      @Bykersam  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Build quality is great, the bike is as durable as any of its Japanese competitors, nothing untoward to report as it was a short 2,000 km run, looked as new once washed. Boxes make it really wide which is something you need to factor in when overtaking and siphoning.
      I have a few lighter bikes too, so I fully understand the appeal of a CRF250, but I would not see it as an alternative, both do different things if used properly, however if the choice is one or the other then the CRF is a great alternative 👍

    Amazing rewiev! I wonder about what you said about the weight - are tou aware of any similar bike, which weight isn't as elevated? :)

    • @VisorView
      @VisorView 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The TRK502 is lower, I have one. The weight disappears as soon as you are moving, it can be ridden at walking pace quite happily. My only gripe after 230 miles is the front brake. Either the pads are taking forever to bed in, or they are not good pads. It's that last 5mph that gets me every time, they feel grabby, so you don't glide to halt, they grab, the bike stops and you have to get your feet down very quickly. Other than that, I have absolutely no regrets about buying it, it really is the perfect bike, unbeatable spec, most of which is never publicised.

    • @Bykersam
      @Bykersam  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The weight is only a problem in stationary position, infact the weight on the road makes this bike more grounded and stable plus it makes you ride much more carefully which in the long run is a great pursuit. Other Chinese 500cc are available but I think maybe this is better in terms of it's quality. If you want much lighter and a non adventure bike then the TRK 502 is better or even the cb500x but the 502x feels a lot of bike for the money 👍

    I just got trk 502x.. your thoughts on 2 things
    1. Flashing ECU for more HP
    2 upgrading front sprocket on 15 tooth..?

    • @Bykersam
      @Bykersam  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think remapping ecu is at a risk, so it all depends on if you are a risk taker or risk averse, of course remapping will give you more power and efficiency but only slightly as it is a 500cc. The sprocket upgrade does not affect the engine tolerances so definitely less risk, if you go for higher top speed or more initial acceleration all depends where and how you want to ride it but definitely a lot more manageable than flashing 👍

    • @sipkauros
      @sipkauros ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Bykersam sprocket to lover down on rpm on highway speeds, so Ill lose some power for hills so thats why I was thinking of remaping.. Bt thanks on thoughts Ill consider..

    BMWs are expensive to work on and not everyone is qualified to work on them. Some of the more expensive bikes have a lot of extra electronics and that is more stuff to go wrong. Simple is better off road and on road for that matter. Virtually none of the manufacturers are willing to adapt their machines to the market that demands simple performance. They all seem bent on increasing the complexity of their machines and scrimp on cheap components. If anyone builds a competent machine they demand a fortune for it. Something has to change with this whole industry.

    • @Bykersam
      @Bykersam  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Alas though you are right in theory, practically nothing will be done, one because profit is more important to manufacturers than pure customer satisfaction and secondly many riders are into the fads of bikes rather than seeking out a great simple bike

    Would it be OK for motorway riding. Also do you think the engine would last the same as the Honda cb 500x.

    • @Bykersam
      @Bykersam  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      A cb500x has a beautiful Honda engine but the refinery of the trk 502x is far better as its not just the engine, but its entire looks, as for motorways, it sits comfortably at 70 to 80mph but I would be hesitant to push it over 90 mph as its a heavy bike for a 500cc, it's presence competes with the big GS's but with a 20 litre tank and a fuel efficienct engine, I think it will go further and at a decent/happy pace, if I had the choice of this or a cb500x, this would win, by the way I do own a nc750x and a cb1300f, so I don't discount the cb500x lightly 👍, I hope that helps buddy 🙏

    Now I am thinking if seat change and suspension adjustment can make a difference of 8cm (from 840mm to 780mm) then maybe I can give it a shot. I can handle 800mm hight very easily. Your suggestion?

    • @Bykersam
      @Bykersam  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Assalam Aleikam brother, the 50mm on the suspension reduces the movement on the swing arm but I think if you don't overload the bike with luggage and a pillion and a heavy mass in yourself I don't think it will cause an issue, so it's definitely doable, though more research is required on how that 50mm reduction in height is achieved
