- Let me say that this is hands down the most accurate and in-depth review of the Benelli TRK 502 X you can find on TH-cam.
After having ridden this TRK502X for 85,000 km across 26 countries in less than 2 years, I'm gonna tell you everything about this motorbike.
Together we've been in Iraq, Iran, Pakistan, India, Nepal, Georgia, Armenia, Turkey, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia, Serbia, Montenegro, Albania, Macedonia, Bulgaria, Greece, Hungary, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Portugal, Spain, Andorra, France, Italy, riding on 2/3 of Himalaya mainly on dirt roads.
From -10°C to 50°C (from 15F to 122.0 °F), up to 15 hours no stop in some occasions.
We reached all the highest mountain passes in the world (between 5,600m and 5,500m), crossing rivers, deserts, snow, mud and any other kind of crazy terrain you can find on your road.
Luggage are Mosko Moto. Tires most of the times Mitas.

Benelli should start giving you some kind of appreciation after proving their product still run and kicking after spend it’s time mostly off-road, experience many drops, dirt, stones, mud, rain, snow etc.

Absolutely not true, Benelli bikes have high reliability, I have a 302R with 60k kms, original engine and transmission.

I found your channel by accident while searching for TRK videos last year. I watched every episode. I have watched many other vlogs, some of which were made by 'famous' travellers. Yours has been the best, the narration, the genuine emotion, and the bike itself have all made it what it is. No one would have thought that the TRK would be able to sustain the abuse, it did, and has been more reliable than many Japanese/German/British bikes ridden by others. You kept me entertained through a dark and cold winter here in the UK, I loved every episode. Thank you.

Hey Frederico, Thanks heaps for the update on the beast. It is really great to know how robust these bikes are. I have had one for about 6 months after selling my 2005 Benelli tornado tre900 and and having so much fun on the dirt. Stay safe brother and come down to Australia one day. All the best

Great review. I have 2018 model. One good thing Benelli did that you don't have to struggle with are .. exhaust black endings. Mine are plastic so they melted 😁 i exchange one of them with metal one from 2020 still looking for the other one. Besides that .. had some huge problems with injectors. Still... It's a great bike !! I love it and big respect for you for all the trips you made. Great job !

Brilliant review, very detailed and has really helped me to understand more about the Benelli TRK 502x. It’s clear to see the limitations of this bike off road . So I will likely go with the more road focused version. There is no point to get the 500x in my opinion. I’m sure the road focused 500 with a set of Pirelli MT60’s might be able to cope with light gravel roads as well. Would be good enough for me I think.

If you need to ride just a few times on simple gravel roads, I agree with you. But still, limitations do not prevent you to do much more. They make it harder, but still possible 😊

Everyone makes out the trk is a cheap Chinese bike, that you need shaft driven more hp and yet this bike has taken all that abuse and got you through it all. I think this is a proper adventure bike that can hold its own at a fraction of the price of those bigger bikes. Brilliant video and review.

Non c'è ombra di dubbio, la TRK 502 è stata una vera e propria outsider vincente e del tutto inaspettata: economica, robusta, comoda, dai consumi quasi ciclomotoristici, che ti hanno accompagnato per 85.000 Km in modo più che dignitoso e che ti ha permesso di creare con lei quel rapporto un po' sentimentale che tanti motociclisti conoscono ( per me è stata la Transalp 600) . Ho l'impressione che i cinesi stiano proponendosi, a ragion veduta e dopo anni di apprendimento, (basta guardare all'ultimo EICMA o all'ultima Dakar) come i veri benchmark che metteranno in seria difficoltà giapponesi, tedeschi, italiani e austriaci . Ma intanto tu goditi adesso il CRF 1100............o no. Saluti
Eh... quella Kove 450... se solo fosse arrivata in tempo e fosse costata un paio di mila euro in meno... tanta roba
Sicuramente metteranno in difficoltà Honda che vende 22 milioni di moto l'anno 🤣

Ho promesso anni fa di non risalire più in moto per il mio stile di guida esasperato che mi ha visto coinvolto in un paio di incidenti pesantissimi. Un amico mi ha parlato di questa moto e mi ha fatto balenare l’idea di riavvicinarmi alle due ruote con un mezzo tranquillo. Con una spesa di circa 3.500€ sull’usato non credo si possa pretendere di più. Stavo cercando qualche video off-road per capirne i limiti che dalla tua esperienza encomiabile e coraggiosa sono inesorabilmente venuti fuori, non poteva essere altrimenti, anche se a mio avviso è, anzi, siete andati oltre le più rosee aspettative. Ti rinnovo i complimenti perché il tuo viaggio l’ho trovato davvero impegnativo da affrontare, con una TRKx, lo sarebbe stato comunque con altri mezzi più specialistici. 💪

Ho molti amici che amano "dare gas" in moto e guidare moto potenti. Rispetto la loro passione, ma personalmente trovo più appagante viaggiarci e farlo andando tranquillo (paradossalmente mi capita di osare più spesso su sterrato che su asfalto).
E poi, soprattutto se sei a migliaia di km da casa, magari in paesi "complicati ", l'ultima cosa che vuoi è farti male seriamente
