Good video. Remember, if you'll not making mistakes, you'll not doing anything. Cheers.

I have the same ARB slide and (also have many other ARB products). I love all of them except for the slide. I find the design to be subpar though bomb proof. I think if I lived in Aussie land and had a fridge in a pickup bed beating thousands of kilometers on 😢corrugated outback roads this product would stand up. Though it’s completely useless for the American market. ARB please redesign your for slides for American use. Full extension or better ball bearing roller extensions with lockouts. I also consider tilt function.

I'm currently in a similar situation, and wondering if you know how far out the incorrect slide extended in inches? I'm looking at another slide that extends 30", and the fridge I am looking for is also 30-28" in length. I think based on this, it will slide out far enough to work.

Hello Rob's Reef. The fridge opening is 27 inches (68.68cm) tall and 19.25 inches (48.9cm) wide. I have a video on the fridge box modifications I needed to make coming out within the week, if it helps.

Great and very informative video Scruffy , thanks . I noticed you have 2 vents installed at the back of your refrigerator box , 1 upper and 1 lower. Did Hiker install those ?

Hi Kenneth. Yes, the vents on my box were placed there by Hiker Trailer.

Is that the 73qt dual zone? and Jumbo Front Pull Slide? Looks like the Mid size slide might be close to working.

Hi David. That is the 73 qt dual zone, yes. As for the slide, I bought the slide through Hiker Trailer but I do believe it is a Jumbo. Not positive, but I heard hints that it might have been modified/customized to fit the Hiker Trailer fridge box so I don't know if it is exactly the same as what's offered on the Tembo Tusk website.

@@ScruffyGolden I'm trying to get information from Hiker on this, but they act like it's a bother. They might lose a potential sale over this. A shame.

Hi David. What part is giving you trouble: the fridge or the slide? The fridge is something that I purchased on Amazon. The slide is from Tembo Tusk. I would think you could purchase the slide from Hiker like I did, but if not, perhaps call Tembo Tusk directly? Sorry to hear it is not going smoothly.

Was your fridge box custom made by Hiker or is it their standard fridge box? Hiker is telling me with a slide the largest fridge that will fit is a Truma C44 or a Dometic CXF 45. Clearly you managed to get a much larger cooler in the fridge box, and I have seen pictures of larger coolers as well. I am trying to figure out where the disconnect is. I am unable to determine if Hiker changed their design or not, and the information they are providing me isn't very clear.

      Hi George.
My understanding is that Hiker Trailer had two standard fridge boxes when I placed my order. There was a "regular" and a "taller" version. Mine is the taller version.
My trailer (and, thus, the fridge box) were made at the Colorado location near the beginning of 2022. I mention that because I don't think the Colorado location is building trailers any more and, even if Indy made these boxes at one point, it doesn't mean they are making them now. Hiker Trailer is constantly trying things out and adjusting their manufacturing.
So while I don't know what Hiker Trailer is manufacturing these days, here is what I DO know: even though my box was not a custom build, I had to customize it to get that ARB fridge to fit. Specifically, I had to removed the shelf holders on the inside which required me to strengthen the walls a different way. I did this by adding plywood on the inside which both strengthened the walls significantly, and gave me something to hang stuff from.
      Hope this helps.
