I work with fridge slides all the time, and the ball bearings are a necessary addition for longevity in our off road vehicles. The pieces that hold the ball bearings get deflected from the bouncing, then fall apart. Getting the bearings on there helps spread that load.

BRO! i was trying to figure out why my drawer slide wouldn't lock in anymore! i figured out that I was missing the stop but couldn't figure out how that would affect the front lock! your video showed me that. in my quest to design a new drop down slide I now am conflicted. I can just fix my current slide with a 3d printed part!

Hey Matt how's that dropper working? I'm building one now and it's kicking my ass! , the tray seems to droop , when lifted

Haven't had a good chance to try it out as the back of my car has been full of tools. Heading up to the VIC Alps in a week or so and it will get a workout then.

If you mean it droops when fully retracted that's why I put in the bearings on the base of the tray so it takes some of the weight.

How's it been working for you mate?

Used it on some longer trips and it works fine. I will say that as I have a 60lt fridge it is quite heavy to lift without the spring/strut assist that some branded units have. I can manage it fine but the kids and wife can't lift it. As it is not permanently in the car then it is great for the occasional use.
