Well done getting your hands on this machine.Brings back a lot of memories for me.My family owned a lot of JCB machines from the old 5c and 6d,807b and 807c to the 811 and 814 super.
These are the machines I learned to
    drive nearly 40 yrs ago.
The 814 super was basically the same as
    your 806c and I think
these machines were ahead of their time for
    service access and
visibility. The 24 volt 814 super circa 1990 was one of the best
machines I've driven and I hope to get my hands on one of them
as well!. Look forward to seeing more vids.
    Take care.

Bought mine in 1999, found some second hand tracks to replace worn out extra wide ones. It has dug out lakes, septic tanks, ditches, tree stumps and many other things. Last year it had not been started for at least seven years and there was a ten foot Ash growing out of the engine compartment. I was in desperate need of it to clear our ditches from weed that was causing them to overflow into the fields. It started raining on September 24th and did not stop till March.
She started easily and cleared about a mile and a half of ditch with the ditching bucket. Trailed back to the farmyard about a mile and the bearings collapsed on the left drive cog. Have split the track and as soon as I have finished writing this, I am going off to Anglia Bearings to try and find replacements. Fantastic machine which has done a hundred times more than expected of it when I bought it!

It is great to see you are so interested in this old machine, I worked in the JCB factory at the time your 806C was built, I drove many of the newly built machines and may have driven yours, I look forward to seeing how you progress with it in the future.

Hi Mark, as far as I remember the 805B had a 6 cylinder Perkins engine and the later 814 super had a Perkins 4 cylinder turbo, I think the 806c was a bigger version of the 805b, sorry my memory of 35 years ago is not as good as it should be !

Good find, these old machines will never die. But you do seem to be collecting old plant faster than you can restore them! Its an addictive habit!

Christ, 67gal of hydrualic oil in a machine that size - were jcb trying to use it as counterweight? 🤣

oil cooling might not have been so good .......so probably more cost effective increase the tank size than sort out the issue ........also extra weight as you say ...........
