I think you have done a great job on this video. I know there are loads of people asking to add more coasters to the list and to take out the music. You have honestly done a great job on this list. These are all good wooden rollercoasters. I agree with your list. Good job bud.
For all that say the RMCS aren’t woodies, there are RMC woodies, like outlaw run and lightning rod. There are a few others, but don’t let those confuse you with the Hybrid coasters, which combine steel and wood, making them classify as steel, such as Steel Vengeance. RMC also has completely steel rollercoasters, I.e. Storm Chaser
The track determines whether a coaster is considered wooden or steel. Rmc has two track types: steel ibox, and wooden topper. The wooden topper has six layers of wood and one layer of steel, and as a result is classified as wooden, whereas the ibox track is all steel. Supports only decide whether a roller coaster is steel or whether it is a hybrid, because a hybrid has steel track and wooden supports whereas steel coasters have steel tracks and supports.
for steel coasters, most Bolligar and Mabillard manufactured coasters will be smooth for the most part, especially fury 325, and for wooden roller coasters, lightning rod has to be close to the top, if not the very top. I’m sure some coasters have changed over the years and my opinions won’t be 100% accurate but this is where i stand when it comes to smoothness The newer vekoma models popping up overseas seem to be pretty smooth as well
Solid list, but I think there are some great international wooden coasters that deserve to be on here: Wildfire, T-Express, and Wood Coaster come to mind.
Has any coaster enthusiast actually ridden wooden coaster? I mean it look incredible and possibly top 1 worthy but I haven’t seen anyone sharing their experience with it.
I went on lightning rod, easily one of the best roller coasters I’ve ever been on. It makes you feel as if it’s throwing you out of the cart the entire time
waited two hours in line and parked myself in the front seat and then the back so I could feel the wind in my face, however honestly I think it’s beat by El Toro, which you feel so much more and gives you a better thrill
Silver dollar city is a great park for roller coasters they are all so smooth( besides thunderation and outlaw run). I love outlaw run but dang, it is a head banger. It can hurt pretty bad if you try to marathon it or go more than once.
Tiffany haha I used to get that pre ride anxiousness. Now I’m just so excited every time to ride one! And outlaw run is spectacular. Go for the front row or back row!
I’m honored that gold striker (at my home park, literally like 3 minutes away from my house driving) but like I feel great to know that what is a short car trip away for me people come from around America (maybe even the world) to go on the coaster that I I rode like all summer long (but they also go for Railblazer
Phenonix at knoebels is the best coaster in the world in the cue for the phenonix they have a list of the top wooden coasters in the world. #1 phenonix, #2 I believe it was Texas stingray, #3 is voyage at holiday world. Idk no the rest except for #12 which is lighting racer at Hershey park. #hershey park sucks. knobles for the win
EA. Vids thanks man! It’s not easy using windows movie maker haha. My Sony Vegas files are corrupted so that software is basically not usable right now. I’m uploading another one soon as I just went to Florida to sea world, Busch gardens, and fun spot Kissimmee.
I rode Gwazi religiously because I live literally 5 minutes from the park. SO HAPPY when Busch Gardens finally put in a wood coaster, and was crushed after it closed down and just stood there for what? 2, maybe 3 years? I'm looking forward to the hybrid going up as it'll be my first, but I dunno at the same time. I'm a pretty staunch traditionalist when it comes to wood coasters....
Good candidates but unfortunately, the extreme wide angle lens of the camera completely flattens out the hills, which pretty much tames the sensation of height and slope,.
Sadly haven’t had the chance to go to Sweden, especially with the pandemic really limiting what I can do but based off of the off ride POV’s I’m gonna go with wildfire on this one!!
Although RMC some are still Wooden as there is no steel besides the track which in the case of a Hybrid coaster the coaster supports are made of steel and wood, therefore outlaw run is still considered to be wooden along with a few others :)
Black Animate steel vengeance is a STEEL coaster. Some RMCs are steel others are wooden. Lightning rod is wooden while storm chaser is steel. RMC doesn’t only make wooden roller coasters. They make ground up coasters and topper tracks. Look at RCDB
Hubeq also zadra isn’t actually a wooden coaster. The company that built it (RMC) lists it as a steel I-Box Model, meaning it isn’t wood. Also, RCDB lists it as steel / hybrid. Therefore it isn’t actually a wooden coaster and wouldnt have made this list anyways
Shaan The 747 well it really depends on the coaster. Zadra would be considered a wooden as all the supports are wooden, while Iron Gwazi and steel vengeance used a little bit of the previous supports but also added steel structures as well, making them hybrid
Epic Coasters actually, a wooden coaster is classified by the type of track used, not the supports. Because of this, rides like the voyage are still considered wooden( even though it has steel supports on its camelback hills), and rides like steel vengeance are hybrids because they have steel track(even though most of the supports are wooden). This gets confusing though because some rmcs use the wooden track will steel toppers (like Goliath, outlaw run, and lightning rod), which look like steel Ibox track, but the majority of the track is wood, so they’re still considered wooden.
KI is my home park and the beast is pretty overrated in my opinion. Sure some laterals in the helix and its long as hell but no airtime and a rather boring layout. Not to mention that second lift hill takes up a lot of time on the ride.

I went on lightning rod and it is so much fun!!

Lightning Rod as great of coaster as it is is not a woodie it has rmc I box steel track making it a hybrid
Love The Beast
The beast is pretty fun. But it does have too much trims.
What Is the smoothest roller coaster you been on

My top 3:
3. Wildfire
2. Lightning Rod
1. Goliath (six flags great America not magic mountain)
Solid list, but I think there are some great international wooden coasters that deserve to be on here: Wildfire, T-Express, and Wood Coaster come to mind.
To be completely honest, I forgot about wildfire lol. I did have T express as my number 13, but not too 10 worthy. Thanks for the comment though!

Is this your personal top 10 or based on Golden Ticket awards???
Hands-down Boulder dash is the best wooden coaster
I love el Toro
Gonna ride Outlaw Run again next week. I'm terrified but excited.

Where are Colossos (Germany), T-Xpress and Wildfire?
I know it says the world but I kept it to USA only to make it a little easier to narrow it down.

Why bother, the music ruins the whole video.....part of the point is hearing the coaster in action.

@@Epic_coasters yeah definitely I’ve ridden both and they are fantastic but ghostrider has some ELITE airtime

Where’s Steel Vengeance?
Steel vengeance is a steel coaster
Epic Coasters. Not really. It’s an RMC. Which is a wooden roller coaster company. Unless you hate Steel Vengeance.
Black Animate steel vengeance is a STEEL coaster. Some RMCs are steel others are wooden. Lightning rod is wooden while storm chaser is steel. RMC doesn’t only make wooden roller coasters. They make ground up coasters and topper tracks. Look at RCDB
Balder and Troy are better than half of these.
Where is the Zadra?
Hubeq I haven’t had a chance to ride that one but when I take my Europe trip in 2021 or 2022 it’ll be a definite stop!!!
Zadra is located in Energylandia in Poland - it is the fastest and largest wooden coaster in the world
Hubeq it is the fastest but not the tallest. Lightning rod is taller and when RMC Gwazi opens it will be 1 mph faster at 76 mph.
