Great truck I’ve jumped it over 3 normal sedan cars, change your low speed needle and gearing just a little, the e-revo is a really fun truck to but nothing like nitro 👌🏼
Great video! I'm getting ready to buy either a Traxxas T-Maxx 3.3 or a Revo 3.3, I can't make up my mind which. I really love the green body available with the Revo and I like how the exhaust tip comes out the back to keep the truck cleaner. What I don't like is all of the extra stuff like the opti-drive and third channel and servo for reverse. I am quadriplegic and it's already hard enough trying to find help to do maintenance, repairs etc. All that stuff just seems like more to maintain and worry about. I also like the look of the vertical shocks on the T-Maxx 3.3. But I gotta say... The green body and the Geode wheels on the Revo are gorgeous! Maybe you can help me with something, because I'm quadriplegic I have to use a dual joystick transmitter and I wire my cars/trucks/boats so the throttle and steering are on the same joystick and I make it bigger with some 1/4" ID rubber fuel line, then I can put the joystick between my fingers and it's the same as driving my wheelchair with one joystick. So my question for you is, how could I make the telemetry work? There must be a way that I could somehow have my ipad on my lap next to my transmitter showing the telemetry. If you have any ideas please let me know. Thanks in advance. You earned my sub, thanks for the cool video!
I have to say all the extra gadgets on this truck are not a problem. The only issue I've had so far is I had to replace the reverse servo. If you can link your iPad to your controller thru bluetooth, the telemetry should work. Good luck with it if you buy one!

And my receiver doesn't have enough ports for all the sensors and both steering servos etc. Maybe I'll just eliminate all of the telemetry sensors and connect both steering servos with a Y cable. The Tmaxx 3.3 in my option has few more aftermarket accessories To buy out there but the simple but some complex features it has is another good one. There both excellent 4WD Nitro Monster Truck RC’s. I say comes down to what you like.
I think these traxxas engines just run hot mine goes up to 290+ no matter how rich i got it but its running great so who care ! My temp gun even says same as app but I never have trouble starting after running that hot and always have good trail of smoke
It is running higher idle. apparently ppl don’t know what the idle screw is just the rich and lean. And that’s where motor goes to the traxxas bone yard. It literally says what to do in the instructions. 🤦♂️

@@chilly7261 oh no kidding man same as car fule. If you ever wanna try a bigger filter try the motor saver air filters you ever brake push rods or turn buckles upgrade to the traxxas red ones. There a lot stronger. I've owned about 30 nitros all together I know a thing or 2 about nitro rcs keep running nitros man
I have a Traxxas 3.3 mine sounds nothing like that and my temps do not get so high that I can't hold the head or touch the head. You might think I live in a cooler climate no I live in Houston Texas where we have triple digit ambient temps consistently.
330 degrees is cooking that engine. Too lean but you keep saying it's too rich. The temps say otherwise. If it's choking on oil then the fuel your running has a heavy oil package in it.

Are you referring to the ting-ting sound as it compression brakes? I have noticed that, and don't really like it. Richening the low speed needle takes care of that?

I'm believing the 195-205 degrees on my infrared temperature probe before I believe the Traxxas app. Did you hear it run? See the smoke? See the throttle response? Even the manual says use the app temperature as a baseline, then adjust it richer or leaner based on outside temps changing. Trust the mixture is right by how it runs. And I said that in the video...
Good question. I'm not the least bit worried about it. Trust your tune, other words, smoke trail, sound of running richer versus lean and throttle response. The Traxxas app is off...
My thoughts on that fwiw... I never used their fuel but have used several other brands. All were very good, never had a fuel quality related problem. Traxxas glo plugs work fine, although I mostly use OS plugs. Heat rating is most important versus brand. For timing, matched to engine compression and nitro content. I agree with you on temperature range, but the key is where the reading is taken. I always follow break in procedures. They differ with engine type, meaning ABC, AAC or Ringed, and ball bearing versus bushing. So there's no one type of cover all break in procedure. I feel they know best, after all they engineered it, not us. With that said I pay little to no attention to most blanket statements without fundamental knowledge backing an opinion...
Your engine has an air leak and it idling too high. Needs some serious looking at. I’ve had a few 3.3s I usually run the OS .21 carb but even running the traxxas carb they don’t sound anything like your engine. It’s not even getting close to red line or top speed. I’d think about trying to get a new engine with the warranty if you can.

I made a video for all the know it all trolls. Idle speed set so it doesn't creep forward from the centrifugal clutch dragging. Instant throttle response from idle. Clearly shifts into second gear. Traxxas app does not work. Mine shows 15mph stopped, temp is close at ambient but the hotter the engine gets the farther off it is, temp gun shows 180 Traxxas app shows 290.

@@chilly7261same problem with the reverse servo. But on my Tmaxx 3.3 model i replaced it with a metal Gear servo from Traxxas.

Idle is a little high and low speed needle need to be corrected i just got a Revo also and i love it!
Your transmission is shifting super weird buddy, you should check whats up with that.
To me it sounds like it needs to be adjusted to shift just a little sooner.

She’s lean bud if your over 270 it’s to hot it needs more fuel or run 30% nitro it’ll run cooler but you can hear the lean at higher rpm.

Don’t listen to anything Traxxas says should be running 220-250 and their fuel is trash too. And their glow plugs.
