I long ago bought a big kit of older trucks and a huge load of parts for $300. There was a Revo 2.5 in there, which now has become my blown out baby. Installed a new 3.3 before I even tried to get the 2.5 going so it’s cool to see what the 2.5 can do!
Hello. I'm happy I made a couple of videos on the 2.5. The following winter I changed it over to a 3.3 also. I did the long chassis, engine wheels and body. Now it's the same as the blue one. Thanks for watching and commenting.

Oh cool.. all you need is the center drive shafts and the longer steering linkage that is it. Took me about 2 hours to switch the chassis. Took my time and cleaned it too.

Yes longer turnbuckles. As I switched the chassis I noticed only the front was stretched so you really only need the front center shaft. So just 3 parts for the project chassis, turnbuckles and center drive shaft. Not sure if you have Instagram but I have a bunch of pictures of the project from last year. rc_show_off. Great video and YT channel. What fuel percentage do you use? Stock gearing? I use Byrons 16% nitro 12% oil and I doubt my Revo 3.3 does 43 mph. It sure seems slower.
Thank you..In these trucks I'm running 20% Traxxas fuel. I use Byron's in my other nitro rcs. For some reason these Revos overheat with Byron's. Both trucks have stock gearing in this video. Now the both have the forward only conversion .
For some reason they seem to vary. I have another 3.3 and it's a little slower than this also. Sense this video iv done a forward only conversation I noticed more power but haven't done another speed run. Thanks for watching!
@@rcshowoff5427 well you just answered my second question lol… I might try and get a forward only conversion and see what happens altho I think from what I’ve seen so far on nitrogang the Os 11k carb seems to make it into a different animal entirely 🤷♂️

Yes you always have to break it in. These nitro engines are very tight and they are near impossible to tune a new engine until it loses up 5 tanks and run rich. Hope this helps

As hybrid would say, 2 speed baby! The 2.5 seems to run really well for such a small engine. If I remember correctly traxxas claim the 3.3 does 45mph running on 35% nitro or something crazy! Still it's fast enough at 43mph. Not bad.
I bought a revo 2.5r brand new back when it came out i always loved the sound of it and when it shift gear theres no better sound in the world

I like the 3.3 much better. Iv now turned this 2.5 into a 3.3 also. Chassis, engine and wheels. In my opinion just a much better platform.
Man you’re getting 43mph with the 3.3… I’m jealous, I can only get mine to 37mph with a leanish tune!

Yes. I installed the Losi 3.4 carb on my Jato 3.3. What a difference carb upgrades make.

I just got the Jato about a month ago . I think its absolutely Awesome. Wish I bought one years ago.
The 3.3 was launching in second gear a lot i think it would've needed an adjustment for a longer 1st gear.
