I was lucky enough to be allowed to ride the Ridge Top Tour on my DR600 back in 1986. All the tours finished for the day and I was alone on the track. I rode up to Sillers lookout, then down to the Paralana Hot Springs and back to Arkaroola. Fond memories.
Hey mate ur channel came up as a suggestion on my TH-cam. I watched an episode of u trekking on ur bike. That was a week or so ago. I've binged watched everyone of ur episodes I think. Great content, the way you tubers should present their videos. No bs no sponsors, and u give great info when ur riding about. Ur channel has to be one of the best content for outdoor stuff. I don't even have a motorbike license but appreciate the quality of ur uploads. Can't wait to see what u have instore . Ps doing Uluru and great central road next week for 3 weeks, partly cause of ur informative videos. Ur a legend mate. Cheers.
Glad you enjoy the Channel content and welcome aboard! Thanks for the positive feedback and thanks for taking the time to comment. Enjoy your journey on Great Central Road and Uluru. I will be on that journey myself (again lol) early August but heading for the Kimberley and Gibb River Road via the Tanami. See you on the other side!
Good one Steve. My son and I were up around Arkaroola about 18 mths ago. Spectacular place. Didn’t do that trip but we saw a lot. You have captured it well. Thanks.
Thanks again for the inspiration. Always vowed to go back to that neck of the woods, and that's another good reason. Spectacular country, but you have to pick your season I think.
Steve, The Flinders are spectacular and Arkaroola really special. Did you get the opportunity to speak with Doug Sprigg (the owner and son of Reg Sprigg - the founder of Arkaroola) ? Doug is into bikes and provided us with a 'mud map' of some brilliant tracks to wend our way back to Angorichina.
I saw him (I think) but didnt speak to him on this occasion. I have been to Arkaroola on a number of occasions before and been given a brief history of the place.
Hi Steve, Awesome visuals, and you did very well with the restricted audios. A true credit to your videographic production direction and editing skills. A quick question; how far in to Arkaroola, and anything nasty enough to stop my 1996 Super Roo Outback AWD from getting there? I do realise I wouldn't be allowed beyond that gate, so it would on their ground or air ride/s for me. Back in 2022 on my 5 1/2 month Darwin sojourn I had considered it but that 5 1/2 week holdup in Katherine pretty much sucked the time and $$$$ out of my then budget. The mysterious random engine cut-out ended being the MAF sensor after all. Had changed three other sensors before that finally stopped 'hiding'. Sigh. BUT Your Video has made my day. 🥰 Thanks Steve, for sharing with us what you are able to of some of your travelling exploits. Oh BTW the final video of your Canberra >> Coffs Harbour was really good too. 🙃🤠🥰
Have to agree, this a great trip. Once again the camera does not do justice to the steepness of the country. Turning around on Sillers, not for the faint hearted. Thanks Steve.
Excellent production. Was there a Mrs Dog along this time, to prevent you from sleeping on the ground like a dog? Just finished a solo bike trip to Birdsville. Did the Skytrek loop on the way.

Awesome drive. Wife and I did it in 1994 and managed to get a seat up front with the driver.
Aussie has some spectacular country Steve. You certainly don't let the grass grow underfoot. 😁
I didnt give up work to watch daytime television...too much to see and do.
Thanks again for the inspiration. Always vowed to go back to that neck of the woods, and that's another good reason. Spectacular country, but you have to pick your season I think.
It was cold...
It’s a great place, the flinders. Still one of my favourites 👍🏻
Mine too!

Great views must have been cold.
It was...an an early start which didnt help.
He used to do the 3 point turn with passengers.
Maybe somebody died...that is the usual knee jerk reaction nowadays.
You got shares in the fuel company Steve? You sure do cover some k's ;)
Wish i did (have Shares).

The bike stayed home for this one...
Would be a good GS trail…
To much for my skill set now...maybe once upon a time. 😀
