Wow, I found the pyramid that I made 9 years ago and still remembered this channel! The good old days when I was 10 years old, life has gone so fast. Lots of love, Umz10.
Jarquin10officialchannel Heard of Chichen Itza? El Castillo is one of them pyramids built by the Mayans (No, not Malaysians) AND it’s in Mexico (were Spanish is spoken)
I would like to thank you jo for getting me into origami in the first place I wouldnt be following this tutorial or be good at origami without you so thank you.
The paper size does not matter, if you want to make a 32x32 one you just fold the squares once more to have 32x32 squares then make the pyramid bit, if yo ya re doing this I recommend doubling the size of your paper
NOW THAT IS FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I´ve thought about making such a Kukulkan Mexican Pyramid so many times, but ... it just didn´t wanted to work for me. I rather do it THE Hard Way!!

For people who is geting confused about a nother tutorial you don't need one because you do the exactly the same with the 16 grided one as the 32 gridded one only more crimp folds for the stars and piramid.
A picture says a thousand words. This video is running at 30fps therefore he is saying 3000 words a second. Hes good enough at showing us what to do and that shoeld be enough.
Jo Nakashima, you are a GREAT artist !!! I thought there would be some cutting and gluing involved, but you folded so adroitly - that just folding was sufficient. I think I will need a lot of practice at simple Origami before I try the above project. Your folds were so neat, so accurate and you always folded in a perfect straight lines - that alone takes many years of continuous practice. Thank you, Maestro !!@#@!@ I wish you also showed a picture of yourself - DONT BE SO HUMBLE !!
Having trouble on the step where you have to somehow pull out the paper and make one step on a side. Jo, if you're reading this, I hope that you can respond.
@@jkboom3070 if u want to make one with more stairs instead of doing 16 by 16 grid do a 32 by 32 or 64 by 64 if u have a sheet big enough i was able to do the 32 by 32 one with a 30 cm square.
made it but couldn't manage the stairs still turned out great though. maybe do a short video showing how to do the stairs in more depth as several people in the comments mentioned it being hard to understand :)
Couple of years ago in grade 4 I made this for my history project about ancient Mesopotamia as this kinda looks like a Ziggurat ( A Mesopotamian temple ).
It won't be called origami anymore but perhaps to replace the stairs, those struggling with this part could try to make the squiggly thing by folding front and back on another piece of paper and stick it on the pyramid
Hey jo wondering if u made a 64 x 64 grid pyramid out of that same paper... wanted to see if u could make it too! I took 7 hours to make that one (64 x 64 grid one)
i think this also looks like a ziggurat because of the flat top look unless he makes so much squares on top the top will look more pointy then it looks more like a pyramid
It's really sad that I only start scrolling through my subscription box and see these old videos but it's late and no-one can know I'm watching thses vids 😂😂😂

im doing this for art
I'm doing this for my s.s at marsh
somebody told me that too, but I could only find a picture of a pyramid with very different stairs on the internet (also based on Chichen Itza)
Origami with Jo Nakashima 👏
Every time you ask me to halve a 16th of my 11cm paper, I die a little inside.
"El Castillo" is the name of the pyramid...
but Castillo means "Castle in spanish" it should called: Kukulcan Pyramid

Didn’t manage to make the stairs but looks great
it's the same procedure to make the bigger ones, just make a larger grid
Can you just make that one too please.
The paper size does not matter, if you want to make a 32x32 one you just fold the squares once more to have 32x32 squares then make the pyramid bit, if yo ya re doing this I recommend doubling the size of your paper
the paper gets harder to fold...

This just jumped my list to one of my favorite origami models; it looks so awesome but it's so easy to make. I love it.
no its not easyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

I made it in an hour and 20 minutes with white card stock paper. I'm very happy with the result. Thank you for the tutorial!
Another great tutorial Jo, really easy to follow and a great origami, keep them coming and I will try the 32x32 grid one next 👍

You need the right kind of paper. Thin, durable, holds creases well, stiff. Where you get that, I don't know.
*breaths after an hour and a half*

25 cm × 25 cm

i think this also looks like a ziggurat because of the flat top look unless he makes so much squares on top the top will look more pointy then it looks more like a pyramid
So can you make tutorials on the other two pyramids? Or is it basically the same process except with a larger grid size?o o

I made the 32x32 one and it's glorious :D doubles as a hat too lol

how do you make the big model?
