I've been wanting to make this dragon for 7 years already, today I finally decided to follow the tutorial, and I did it! It's not as perfect as the one you made, but I'm beyond satisfied considering I used printer paper.

Whenever i want to make this dragon as a gift i always come to this video. Over the years i have made at least 5 of these. I use Washi Deluxe paper from the Origami Shop, difficult to reverse creases, but brilliant for shaping and getting curves, like for the horns of this model. Plus the golden side makes the inner wings look really cool!
Thank you Jo for the clear tutorials. Little tip for anyone who gets a bit stuck - slow the video down for the bit you find difficult, always helps me.

thanks for these videos, they're wonderfully clear and the diagram in the top right hand corner is so helpful. Sometimes it's hard to capture a complicated move using diagrams alone but having the two side by side is perfect.

I made 5 of them (Fírnen, Saphira, Thorn, Glaedr and Shruikan from the ERAGON series by Christopher Paolini). My papers were 30x30, 40x40, 50x50, 70x70 and 100x100cm. And the last two were REALLY hard to make due to the amount of paper :D But I finally did it and they look great. Thank you for the great tutorial! I used tadashimori's tutorial first but I like yours better because the neck and tail are shorter and you explain how to make some details.

Jo, you make it easier for people to do origami more funner and easier. By showing the diagram and the video combined, it allows people to make more complex objects above their skill level.

I’d like to see how many Origami creations are in this guys house. With so many videos as well as he probably had to do each one multiple times because he had to memorize it. tips for people who are doing this: on 17:33, you must be careful. most of the times the paper will rip on the center. I folded this model with kami paper and did not rip it. I think it was luck. any ways you must make the paper thin at the center point.
Good suggestion! Using cheap paper or printer paper usually has it ripping right in the counter point there. Kami is a bit safer. I'm gonna try it with 40x40cm Kraft paper.

I was using printer paper
@@FM-tw3bt Save yoursf the tears.and invest in good quality Origami paper if you can afford it. Even cheap Kami paper would hold better than regular printer paper. I would recommend at least a 30x30cm square sheet of thinner paper (Kami, Tissue Foil, Double tissue, or Kraft.
I remember making a magic ball. Not the mini, but the actual version.
I successfully made it, was so anger inducing and patiency inducing and took way too long.
The next day, it fell in water and all broke. I cried
This was like 3-4 years ago. I have already made another one and it is safe in my origami collection

It is pretty hard for a beginner, I would say this is intermediate, I struggle a little with it and I have been doing origami for a while. But if you are patient and willing to make several, I am sure you can do it. (use the biggest paper you can, it makes the details easier.)

If you use the A4 paper it will be so small
You can cut A3 or A2 paper into a square, if that is big enough!
