I know... I was limited to where I could ride as a youngster. It would be awesome if they street legalized Quads in his state of Wisconsin, the channel would be a different beast!
@@matt12251975 quads are not road legal in usa right? i mean i do some people ride them on the road in traffic... no helmet no plates nothing... so kinda confusing... in europe you need to have helmet and gloves atleast or you gonna get fined... and the quad need to have a licence plate and insured and put on your name. and you need a driver licence, atleast this is if you buy a road legal one. and drive on the road... you can trail ride with what ever u want (even doh you technicly need road legal quad to even trail ride if its a community trail its a road but they wont really bother you.

Public Highways
ATV or UTV use is not permitted on a New York highway unless said highway has been designated and posted for ATV use by the state or local authority. For the most part, designated highways are limited to only the part of the highway between two off-highway ATV trails.
Even if it's insured, cops will nail ya for riding on public roads. So even if I have proper safety equipment, and I ride my quad down to the local grocery store, im gonna get stopped and ticketed.
@2Stroke Tyson this website lists each state law regarding this topic . Actually, most states Don't allow public street use.

@@reggiexp69 some states in the western USA and other random states do allow public road use as long as ATV has proper safety equipment, ie blinkers, brake lights etc...
Take your exhaust system off go at it with an s.o.s pad it'll strip that rust clean. Toss on a coat of high temp paint

best thing you can do to both those quads is change the controls get a MX bend handlebars. and a new clutch lever on the 400 make it a totally different bike
400ex was my favorite bike too. Nice. The seat cover looks great. Alot of ppl still have these bikes down here in fl they are all over down here.
Get a Raptor 700 or a yfz450 next
Raptor 700 or a ltz400 since he's liking the 400ex. I driven both a lot and can say if you have around 3500$ to spend get a raptor 700, if you can get a ltz or kfx400 for 2000$ go for it.
ChrisGo715 where have you seen a Raptor 700 in ok shape for 3000 a lot more there 10k new at least 4 to 5
@@tonycampbell9797 hard to find a raptor700 for 3000$ but once in awhile they show up around 3500$ I live in northern Wisconsin though
My brother had a stock 07 raptor700 and those things have mad torque through every gear and top speed around 80mph. They're bigger but also nice and soft suspension.

Just a tip for practicing your wheelies, once its up don’t be so drastic with the throttle changes. Try and keep it smooth, instead cover the rear brake pedal and learn to get it to its balance point and control it with the brake from going to far. Its a little more tricky but once you get it down you well wheelie any for miles🤘
He needs more control with that clutch and rear brake all hes doing is smashing the throttle to get it up and keeps jabbing it to keep it up he needs to start using the clutch to pop it up and the use the the throttle with some brake to make it from not coming right back when you get it up

Put the wheels and tires from the 450 on your 400ex and keep the 400ex. There overall way more Comfortable and trail friendly while still having a quite a bit of power

I Told you HAIL THE KING 400EX. I said it in the 1st video you made on the machine. 99% of people are riders NOT racers. 400 wins everytime.
Make sure you hit the foot brake when you come back a little stay up longer

pop the clutch on a slow roll... to get it up to balance point so ur not chopping the throttle to keep it up

Ey joe when your doing your wheelies u chop the throttle and u should be smooth with it, it will be easier to control it and tell if you need brakes or throttle, im no where near being great at them but i have gotten sooo much better doing this and now i got some distance

One day I will own a 400ex... I have two 05 polaris predator 500s and would love to trade a predator for a 400ex one day.. I love what you did with this quad, this quad will last you if you take care of it! Good job on fixing the wheel wobble I knew you could do it!
Ok the 400 is an absolute tank and will run through anything I’ve had a 400 and have a 450 now and I love the 450 more you can do anything on it

If you want that 450 to do wheelies, put a bigger sprocket on the rear and or smaller on the front.

Good job on the seat, I would of taken the pipes off and gotten rid of all the rust then put on 2-3 coats of high temp black, make em look brand new.

for the exhaust i highly recommend wrap or even engine enamel since thats good for up to bout 500f
keep steady on the throttle and use the backbrake it makes it so much easier

You can wheelie longer you just got to practice shifting mid wheelie. I used to wheelie my kfx400 from first to fifth gear all the way through without letting it down.
Easy on the back break bud maybe watch braap vlogs he has a recent video teaching randy how to wheelie a quad and u may pick up some tips from that?

If the wheels and tires you are talking about don’t work out check out smith family power sports on eBay. I had the same issue on my 250ex they had a great price on new aftermarket rims and tires
I look at WD-40 as a jack of all trades its not great at anything but it does everything

Finding a set of old fullbore's from the early 2000s would be awesome. They made the 400ex look just like the 250r with the style of front nose. No headlight mind you...

If you want to get some color back in the nerf bar nets Ide suggest maxima bio wash, let it sit for like 20 mins add more if needed scrub with a tooth brush then power wash intensely worked decent with my EX
Did you check the thumb throttle housing on your 450 yet? I believe it's an adjustable for thumb comfort, you just pull down on thumb press. I'm pretty sure it's aftermarket.
you should get a new set of nerf bars for the 400 ex
Your going to fast when u wheelie start slower and just practice getting the quad all the way up and hitting the brake don’t worry about falling back plus the quad has the bar on the back it will be fine
wd-40 has over 1,000 uses. 1 of them being wiping down a shower mirror before and it will not fog up. also stainless steel cleaner is just rebranded wd-40
First off the trx 450 is a race quad just like the yfz 450 and the and 400ex is a trail quad 2 totally different set ups
You need to attach the front of the seat to the bike. it's not installed correctly which is why the front of the seat flares up

Try finding a raptor 660? Great cheap fun quads for the price? Used to have a 1998 homda 400ex yellow i loved it, could wheelie for days on it from 1st to 4th, the got a raptor 660 allot faster with more torque grear fun quad also

So I haven't had a quad in about 8-10 years. I had a blaster then and I was a little too big for it then but definitely too big for one now. I'm looking at getting a 400ex but I'm worried I'm gonna grow out of the power too fast. Can you get a good amount of power out of these? I just wanna make sure I can get more out of it if I get bored with the power? Any help and info from anyone would be greatly appreciated. This will be my first proper 4 stroke. I had a crf50 at one point but that doesn't count lol. Other then that I had a blaster and a cr125r
Did you use water when you repowed the rust cause kine needs it dowm and i dont know how
If you use Steele wool instead of tin foil it might work even better and you and re use Steele wool

Bro when u wheelie start slow in first gear while u got it up shift to 2nd jus keep your foot on the back brake lol
