    Absolutely fascinating video. I never realised how similar all the helmet shapes were.

    Never seen it before but i love this documentary. Always wondered where the idea for the rebel helmets from the opening sceen came from. Genious!

    I seriously wish I had seen this video before doing my GCSE and A level product design technology... So much vacuum forming, so many problems! This is a fantastic tutorial for star wars and general techniques!

      Ainsworth is a liar. Brian Muir and the late Liz Moore made the stormtrooper armor. All Ainsworth ever did was run the vacu-forming machine. He also claims to use the original molds, which is also a lie.

    what you do with the helmets and armor is amazing. keep doing what your doing. :)

    Those weren't US Marine helmets, they were US Navy Tanker helmets that were the basis for the Rebel Fleet Trooper and Imperial Gunner (aka Death Star Trooper) helmets.
    Still, these are amazing.

    If I were to use an actual m1 helmet, would the heated plastic and vacuum form affect the helmet?

    • @c7uk
      @c7uk 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      You mean as a buck? No it should be fine as it's not in the direct heat. The flat plastic you do heat doesn't melt and stick to the buck and to release it you pump it full of air like a balloon
