Anyone else hearing "The Synapse"? (those who know, know ;)))
It is very unfortunate that the bustling district of Causeway Bay has become a ghost town with the Covid-19. During most evenings when stores are still open most of the streets are packed wall to wall. It has been my experience, going down there myself especially with the world accepting that Covid-19 situation has passed; for the rest of the world there are now 45/100,000 reported as early as March 2022, which is too similar to flu to warrant special emergency measures for most countries. This situation however persists in Hong Kong at present. Empty or not it is still quite beautiful.
To be honest, it's quite a surprise that Hong Kong made its first step to open up, after closing its borders for nearly three years, and even made it into a de facto 0+0 a few days ago. Though it might be a bit late compared with other parts of the world, it's still a huge move for Hong Kong. Hope this gradually attracts more visitors to return to Hong Kong and admire the beauty of our city in the near future.

I WALKED THE MAIN ' CAUSEWAY STREETS ' MORE THAN A HUNDRED TIMES SINCE 1956-65 & 1971-2014! from my home in ' The City of Angels, Bangkok '
For the first 9 years when I lived with my second Mom (Mom's sister) on Tai Hang Road while the second was after college in America for business & for my late Mom & we stayed in my second Mom's apartment on Lee Garden Road.
You missed a walk to the ' Lee Theater ' where it held the ' Miss Universe ' in its old building & I enjoyed the movies for Free during my 9 years of school in Hong Kong. The ' Lee ' family has been very close with my Mom since WWII in China where I was born in 1944 - my medical father was serving the Chinese Red Cross in Guilin, Guangxi, China.
(My hearing at 78 is not good & only relies on subtitles)
Ah, Lee Theatre has already been featured in the walk. The original Lee Theatre where performances were premiered had been demolished. 24:40 is the site of the former theatre. It's now a shopping mall bearing the same name.
It's nice to hear that your family has good relations with prominent historical figures in Hong Kong! That's really a long time ago.
@@VirtualToursTV Thank you. How could I miss this new ' Lee ' complex? My late second Mom's apartment is on Lee Garden Road right next to it. Sorry!
Welcome to chan ho nam territory
Its my dream to visit HK! 🇭🇰 Is it like Singapore? i went to Singapore 5 years ago!
I went to Singapore around 10 years ago. Both cities are similar in size and history. There are lots of local things you can experience as a visitor to SG and HK too. As Hong Kong's borders are open now, I'm sure you can achieve your dream soon!
Singapore is very nice but has very strict rules, you need to be wary of, other than that great place very modern and warm oh and can be wet😂😇
HK is the most beautiful city in Asia. Singapore is beautiful on the ground but HK is beautiful both on the ground and seen from up above. The combination of skyscrapers, mountains and the harbor is just something that is so pleasing to the eyes. I've seen so many beautiful cities around the world but I dont think it would be possible to be prettier than HK.
